Everything matters to someone, every life is full of meaning for the person living it. Everyone still dies though.
Nicely put, and a more succinct explanation than I can give at the moment.

Edit: Ooh, also, congrats on post #200. Your prize will be... Greg's cape name!

Just kidding. Greg is dead, how could he be plot relevant?

Zombies. Good old fashioned Voodoo Zombies... Not the kind made by zombie powder though, the more mythical kind which are dead bodies animated by sorcerers.
Okay. You heard it here, folks. If anyone gets upset when I reveal Zombies, the douchiest ward ever, you have no one to blame but MGS. Although it may get confusing when all the other zombies start showing up.

All that power and she's still a little bitch who'd rather let a couple rabid animals dictate her life and cause her to drop out of school rather than kill her tormentors and make it look like the ABB or one of the other gangs did it.

On the one hand Greg is just really annoying but....yeah I got nothing he really has no real redeeming factors outside of one or two fan fics so yeah good use of a useless character.

Well he entertained me mightily by jumping in front of that bus. It would have been sweet if Taylor had told her that one day she would die and she wouldn't see it coming. The threat that's not a threat.

Hmm. That's an interesting idea. Might have to tweak the conversation slightly. Not sure how strongly I want to push the apparent connection between Taylor wigging out about death in the middle of her school with the idiots death immediately after. The PRT is already gonna be looking at her pretty hard after this.

And I should probably figure out how to make a friend.
Sing us a song about the friends you've got on the other side.

"Doctor. I am just going outside. I may be some time."
Heh. Probably should bring mittens or something.

It's not like I've used arcane powers to examine the deepest depths of his soul or anything.
Yet.

And yeah, sure, he's dead, but I'm not sure how much that's going to matter to Taylor.

Also, loving this fic so far.

I would like to refer you to the AN at the end of 1.2.

Also, first to point out the context of Fortuna's little comment.

Glad you're enjoying it. Things are about to get a lot more complicated, but I hope these early setup chapters aren't too hampered by all the stations of canon they've been disposing of, one way or the other.

I find it more than a little impressive that Emma and Madison's response was pouring juice in Taylor's backpack like always. Honestly, if they're that dedicated, I think Taylor should stay in school just to humor them. Even the PRT didn't hold up that well.

The PRT got whammied. Emma got a stern talking to.

We're not done with Emma yet.

Samedi is one of the major influences on the character, but some of the connections are more impressionistic than direct carryovers. I chose the source material because it encapsulated a concept I wanted to write about fairly well. But this isn't a story about Baron Samedi.

This is a story about what Baron Samedi means to people. This is a story about inevitability. This is as much a response to the themes of Worm as to the characters and events and set dressing of Worm.

This is a New Orleans funeral.

Everybody's enjoying the party.

Well, nearly everybody.

...except the dead guy of course.
(And even then only maybe. This IS Samedi we're talking about, after all.)

I'm getting the impression that after everything she's been through since she triggered, she's no longer really taking Emma's tormenting her rather seriously. Taylor's matured rapidly since then, and Emma doesn't seem like that much of a threat anymore, more like a petulant kid throwing a tantrum. Of course, with Taylor being as young as she is, that'll prolly change again, so I'm eagerly looking forward to what happens when Emma finally figures out just -who- she's been poking with a stick. ~.^

Methinks she'll need the brown pants for that one.

Now now taylor, thats very unproductive thinking!

Life's a party, and Death is the afterparty. Have fun and stop worrying about all that silly moralizing, theres corpses to make and rum to drink!

I'm more interested in seeing Taylor's reaction to all this when she's next on the street. When the psycho clown, as she put it, steps aside and Taylor is fully in control again.
