You might want to brush up on your physics, specifically conservation of momentum.

Note that the Empress' body is just slightly less dense than the critical point of forming a black hole. Also note the scarf that she let Glory Girl try to pick up.
As for errant twitches. The Empress has only just undergone a new level of body cultivation at this point. What would have been an undetectable impulse prior to that is amplified. It's also not uncommon for high level martial artists to have reflexes so ingrained that they strike first and then worry about what they hit. An errant twitch shows just how much control she has over those reflexes.
People are not stellar objects. If you remember from the introduction, she spread her qi out over the entire solar system first. We can predict the motion of all the larger objects in the solar system, but we can't predict the path of a single individual in a shopping center.
For getting new clothes, remember the scarf. Now imagine what would happen if something that dense was applied to a random person in a crowd.
Additionally, it's a running theme that the Empress has memory problems, and there is the beginning of an explanation as to why in Chapter 11.
Re: Conservation of Momentum
It would probably surprise you but it was one of the concerns I had considered.
And ultimately is why I mentioned that mortal matter has give and elasticity.
Because like it or not, the classic formula is an
abstraction and simplification, like how extreme speed at fractions of speed of light modifies classic formulae for velocity into relativistic ones.
It generally assumes that momentum is transferred instantly, and in its entirety. Unfortunately it isn't so, and is why the sudden stop at the end of a long fall is generally fatal.
In the specific video you used, it is why the push-off was done gently and in a prolonged manner, which allowed the transfer of momentum to propagate properly.
Re: Memory Problems
I have assumed that at least one of the reasons was already mentioned as early as chapter 5 (I skimmed a little) when Empress mentioned that she had a different name forced into her.
I wish I remembered my family name so that I could honour my ancestors for that profound truth. However, that was the first thing the Purple Bell sect stole when they forced the name Xiang Dai on me.
The first thing they stole, but probably far from the only one.
Re: needing to spread awareness around
And that right there is the issue that she didn't do it after passing through the previously undetectable portal.
She is, effectively, on an exploration.
When coming to a new place, the first instincts are to take in the place you found yourself in and to ensure your own safety (which taking in the area helps with unless there's a more pressing issue readily apparent like a big predator in front of your eyes, for a mortal, or a hostile immortal, for an immortal).
So issue is, after getting out of a metal box and taking a glance around to ensure there's no immortal-tier threat around, she
should have checked out the wider area. And she didn't.
And also, incidentally, I am working on what I consider an entirely valid assumption that for an immortal that can cross the distance from the planet to orbit in a single step, immediate area constitutes a much larger area than "as far as the horizon" out of necessity to have some form of early warning against someone else dropping in from beyond the horizon.
