Did she give birth to an infant Great One Hunter, from Bloodborne, between then and now?

Basically the result of people playing mad scientist and for some ineffable reason expected it to end well. She's a total sweetheart really, not her fault people are scared by the whole "Eldritch Abomination" thing.

I have no experience of firearms operation but it feels like there's something odd about the way she's holding that longarm.

Its right side up, which is slightly odd if she was holding it normally and then brought to her shoulder, as that should spin it through one eighty degrees. But it's not that odd, all told.

NISU! Not many can pull off wearing a vest well enough that it locks into the brain as a vest. Don't wear it well, brain goes through hurdles to memorize it as a sleeveless jacket or sleeveless button-up shirt, from my experience.

Ah, you may be more familiar with the 'Murican way of having the barrel pointed at parts of oneself or at nearby people. Gun safety is for losers, afterall.

Yeah, like this (ignore the dates, they're just pointing out the show introduced a rifle a year earlier than it was produced in reality):
A year and a decade, based on those dates. Presuming that rifle isn't misidentified from one of the, what, other dozen similar designs from the 1870s onwards.

Oh, right, I misread that as both being 1880's when one is 1890's.

But the relevant part is the facing, this was the first picture I found when I looked for someone leaning their rifle on their shoulder and you'll note it's upside down due to the angle of rotation.

That was wholly uncalled for.

I was in fact referring to the thing Estro and SolipsistSerpent have described and illustrated, respectively.

No, she's more-or-less a Demon Worshipper. That's not the opposite of DMC, that's a DMC character who is "so sexy she loops back to intimidating"- basically a nun with guns, but instead of angels she makes demon pacts yet ultimately fights only for herself and her girlfriend bestie. Also the world I guess, though that's more an escalation since the things she fights generally turn out to require saving the world.
