[X] A machine rampaging across the city was bad, you should at least try to stall it.
"For those that remain, those that are not human, you will not find salvation in heaven, you must go beyond it."
It was confused, never before has
it came across something like this. "This
unit does not understand, are you…human?"
Pod 042 floated in front of
the pod that was several sizes larger than
it was. A constant chorus hummed in the background as
it pondered.
"We do this to make the world one again." the mammal pod explained in it's cryptic way.
Pod 042 was unsure of the cause, but
he began to think.
"Find your place in Outer Heaven."

Explosions collided against the
Engels, the force caused it to stumble backwards.
"Barrage complete." Bladewolf stated, the massive missile launchers on his back emitted smoke, rapidly they cooled down. He braced himself as the Engels' arm shot forward, ready to crush him. With a crash, it's arm stopped right in front of Bladewolf. "Raiden, you are late."
The man's arm strained against the massive machine, sparks lighting up between his blade and the opposing surface. With a grunt the arm was deflected upwards, the machine crashed into the building behind it.
"I think I'm right on time." he took note of the missile launchers strapped to Bladewolf. "You went home and brought out some toys huh? Should have gotten your squeaky toy too."
"Amusing on one level." Bladewolf's long tail flicked from left to right. With a small thud and click, they saw A2 land on the building next to him. "Raiden, you've begun taking in strays again?"
Her large sword slammed into the roof in a resting position. "Your friend sure has a big mouth..." she drawled out, still internalizing just how effortlessly the man just parried a machine of that size. She'd be hard pressed to do that even if she put everything on the line.
She didn't really understand why she decided to follow him, maybe it was the boredom, or the loneliness, she was interested at least.
"Looks like he brought his own friend to the party." the man remarked with a point of his finger, another Engels that marched towards them.
It was then that A2 noticed as she observed the man and the wolf, he
wasn't an android. Even with the similarities to older models she had seen, there was something
off about him that she couldn't really explain. Hearing him banter with his friend only made her feel correct.
She noticed smaller machines began to converge near them, they'd be overwhelmed soon if nothing was done. Maybe it was just the bad habits that she couldn't break from back when she was a part of a unit. "I'll cut down the small fry." With a quick shift she dashed across the roof, down to the horde below.
"She is unusual." the mechanical hound noted.
The man would agree, she seemed reluctant to interact, but didn't hesitate in having their back. A2 didn't seem like much of a traitor, or
someone who
slaughtered others for fun. She was definitely no
Jack the Ripper. Either way, he still had some machines to put out of order.
"Wolf, how about you give me a ride?" he requested as he sprinted across the roof. Without a moment lost, Bladewolf shot another barrage of missiles that shot past the man.
Time seemed to slow for him, with a flick of his foot he shot forward, landing on a missile in mid motion. He continued to hop forward, using each missile as a stepping stone. He jumped high up as the onslaught of missiles collided with the Engels still collapsed on the building. His eye zoned in on the one still standing, with a quick adjustment his body shot down like a shooting star, his blade hummed with electricity.
A soft ring, he landed with an impact on the grass below. The Engels above shifted before a large chuck of it fell off. The man frowned slightly, with only one arm, his cut had been too shallow.
"Kill!" the Engels' voice rumbled like thunder as it brought it foot up to crush him. His legs blurred into motion as he avoided the attack, jumping onto the machines leg he sliced as he ran upwards. The machine tumbled as he ran for his goal, the head. His blade reached out and stabbed, right into the core of the Engels as it collided with the ground.
With a quick flick of his sword, it was returned to it's sheathe and everything was quiet.
-
9S and 2B exited the flight units, staring at the colossal form that no longer moved.
"Did-" 9S' mouth paused, still not believing it. "Did you see what just happened?" 2B stayed quiet, a single android was able to do this? It usually took more than one to take one down, two if they were exceptional.
2B noticed a machine behind 9S and swiftly moved into motion, slicing it in half before it could do any harm. 9S fell on his back from the sudden attack, noticing the sparking machine.
She held her hand out to him. "Are you all right, 9S?"
"Y-yeah, thanks." she hoisted him to his feet and he quickly dusted himself off.
-
2B couldn't understand what she saw, as 9S accepted the hand of a perfect replica.
"Do you see how disposable you really are now?" Adam continued to wipe the lenses of his glasses with a small black cloth. He stopped while observing the tie around his neck. She had fixed it for him, noting it's crooked appearance. Ever since that moment he checked every so often, to make sure it was even, in order.
He wasn't really sure why, but the appearance of it became a great deal of importance to him.
2B dropped to her knees, holding her sword for support. Drops of liquid trailed down the hilt and on to the blade itself. "Why…? Am I so easily replaced?" the sword shook from her grip on it as the android cried. "What was the point of it all then?"
"There is no point." he countered her question, her sobs still quiet as she listened. "You were created to be used, once your worth has diminished you're tossed to the side, another piece of metal in this scrap heap." his revolver spun slowly in his hand. He could very well kill the impostor and the source of her anguish here and now. Though it would do very little, she would probably disapprove of such an action.
"Forget YoRHa, forget the humans who so easily toss you aside like mere chaff!" The revolver began to spin faster and faster. "I will build a utopia on top of this despicable wasteland, one where Android and Machine alike will no longer have to face such meaningless conflict. One where they can coexist in peace, and build a new way of life. Where the battles you fight are yours to choose."
A split in the factions, a third group to cause unease. Androids and Machines wouldn't be able to ignore the very existence of a group just as large as them, composed of
them. They would have to take notice, become worried. It would cause tensions to boil even hotter, it would cause the greatest climax to this ongoing war yet.
A soft gut wrenching laugh, one that stopped Adam in his tracks.
"I don't care about any of that..."
2B whispered as she stood, her sword ripped from the ground. Hand curled in anger, her head turned high into the sky. She opened her eyes, that no longer held her normal color, but burned with a glare of red. "I'll kill every last one of them, the remnants of humanity, so the fighting stops, so the pain ends."
So she could stop
hurting.
Adam seemed taken aback, he holstered his revolver into his belt. An android willing to rebel against their creators? The same way machines had killed theirs so long ago?
He too looked up at the bright sky with a grin at the moon that seemed to hide in the clouds. Even now humanity caused such suffering without lifting a single finger. "Then help me reach that border beyond heaven." Then they would rejoice, in the greatest battle this war had yet to see.
Tears still streamed down her eyes as she chuckled in wonder at the deep blue sky, as if just seeing it for the first time, her hand traced the clouds.
"I never noticed how beautiful this world could be..."
-
With a soft thud, Bladewolf and A2 landed near the man. "Impressive..." A2 quietly murmured, her destroying a bunch of machines was child's play compared to this, taking on two Engels.
"Raiden, did you find any information about the android 2B?" Bladewolf questioned.
Raiden shook his head. "No, just ran into some trouble and her." his thumb flicked over to A2, who crossed her arms. "If she's still alive, we might have to consider she was able to move herself, or was taken somewhere."
"You could try the amusement park." A2 brought up as she looked away. "Dunno if your friend would survive though. It's full of machines."
"The abandoned mall across the bridge could be a safe place to recuperate for her." Bladewolf suggested.
The man also knew the flooded section of the city was a place he rarely traveled to, it might be worth looking into.
The man decided to resume his search for 2B:
