Re:Homunculus [Re:Monster Remix]

The Beginning: Character Creation Pt2
Character Creation: The Creator - Jessica Shiryou

She'd done it! Even if her master would be angry at her for trying such an advanced magic, she'd done it! She'd created a homunculus! It was already bound through blood, and she could feel the connection was steady with the creature. It was fairly simple, made from materials she had on hand more than anything, but it was a success!

She watched as her creation went back to sleep after taking its first breath and couldn't stop smiling. All that time working on the materials needed and getting that magical component to focus the magic into the homunculus before her now. She'd prove herself here, it was the best she could do, and it came out better than she'd imagined! She needed to see it in its element once it woke up...

Purpose (Pick 1)
[] Combat: Sturdy and powerful for its size, defends its creator. Lower magical potential but a somewhat heightened mutation rate.
[] Messenger: Fast and dependable, designed to travel long distances without tiring. Low strength but high mobility.
[] Assistant: Smarter and more resistant to magic than most, grants a great magic potential but has deficiencies in the physical.
[] Companion: A well rounded homunculus, low mutation rate but well rounded in other areas.
[] Magic Battery: Highly mutable, but lacking in all areas for its focus on containing magic rather than using it.

She'd made things before, she loved to do that, but this... this went even farther. She'd made something alive. Something that she could call her first magical work and a legacy. It amazed her that something so important to her was, only a few short weeks ago, little more than:

Body Materials (Pick 3)
[] Wax: High Blood and Nerve, Lowers Bone.
[] Oil: Mixed into other materials, adds to Nerve and Seals, but can lower Flesh.
[] Clay: High Flesh and moderate Bone, lowers Seals however.
[] Wood: Moderate Seals and Bone, minor Mind, but lowers Nerve.
[] Coal: Adds to Nerve and Mind but lowers Blood, Bone, and Flesh. Enhances fire magic.
[] Cloth: Extremely High Blood, minor Mind, but lowers Flesh.
[] Metal: High Flesh and Bone, moderate Nerve, but lowers Mind and Blood
[] Water: Mixed into other materials, improves Blood and Mind, but lowers Bone.
[] Stones: High Flesh and Bone, moderate Mind, but lowers Seals and Blood
[] Parchment: Extremely High Mind and Nerve and minor Seals, but lowers all other stats.
[] Animal Parts: Highly Mutable, Random Stats.
[] Write In (Must be Approved)

Those had been the easy part, the hard part had been the Core, the central piece needed to focus the animation process that turned the homunculus from simple materials into flesh and blood, a living creature. That was the only component she'd had to obtain through means other than gathering materials:

Catalyst (Pick 1)
[] A Spirit Stone
-[] Ice
-[] Air
-[] Fire
-[] Earth
-[] Water
-[] Lightning
[] A Semiprecious Stone
[] A Slime Core
[] Some Monster Blood
[] Write In (Must be Approved)

It was such a thrill, and she'd proved she could do it! That made her even more excited, her master had said she couldn't do it at her current level, despite her knowing otherwise, and she'd proved herself right! That was enough for her. All she needed to do now was name the homunculus...

Name
[] Write In

Stats For Reference
Blood: A measure of fluidity. Movement, speed, and coordination are all a part of the Blood Stat.
Bone: A measure of rigidity. Defense, fortitude, and vitality are all a part of the Bone Stat.
Flesh: A measure of effort. Strength, power, and stamina are all a part of the Flesh Stat.
Mind: A measure of magic. Intelligence, resourcefulness, and will are all a part of the Mind Stat.
Nerve: A measure of resistance. Magical defense, luck, and presence are all a part of the Nerve Stat.
Seals: Not so much a stat as a resource. It is something that can be spent and gained, however, once it hits 0, the stat is lost. It is also a Homunculus Only Stat. No other race or creature possesses this stat/resource. This is essentially the mutation rate of the homunculus and how much, if any, control they have over it.

Now, before the next part, I guess I should include what the stats are and how they work.

No other race or creature possesses this stat/resource. This is essentially the mutation rate of the homunculus and how much, if any, control they have over it.
I think this should actually be reposted into the next post where we vote for materials. It makes it easier to parse if they are in the same post

[X] Messenger: Fast and dependable, designed to travel long distances without tiring. Low strength but high mobility.

[X] Wood, Cloth, Animal Parts
[X] A Slime Core

[X] Wright

I don't think it's a good idea to count them separately and choose the most popular ones. They can synergize, so listing them together seems fitting.
Then argue with the QM and convince him to change it. Don't intentionally vote wrong because you don't like the way QM set things up.
The thing is, she's scrounging for materials, not going out and purchasing top quality materials. She's using what she has on hand.
^QM confirmed that this was on purpose

Anyways, lets see how magey we can get
[x] Assistant: Smarter and more resistant to magic than most, grants a great magic potential but has deficiencies in the physical.
A propah wizard needs herself a lab assistant.

[x] Wood: Moderate Seals and Bone, minor Mind, but lowers Nerve.
[x] Oil: Mixed into other materials, adds to Nerve and Seals, but can lower Flesh.
[x] Parchment: Extremely High Mind and Nerve, but lowers all other stats.

Wood and oil are the only +seals options, which is a unique and awesome stat reserved for homunculi which I want as high as possible (although I also want mind as high as possible for the magery).
Parchment for extremely high mind and nerve making us a right propah wizard
Moreover, all 3 options are fairly accessibly

[x] A Spirit Stone
-[x] Water
Magic stone is best catalyst. And water is best element to choose from (sadly no neutral spirit stone)

I am curious about the high mutability. Is it Seals? Since Seals was mentioned to essentially be mutability after all, so...

I went for Assistant just because I'm more interested in a magic character. Wood because it gives decent Seals and we can afford to lose some Nerve, Mind because it's useful for magic and Bone to have a little defense. Parchment to boost two magic stats and Cloth for a little speed for extra suitability and a bit more Mind.

Spirit Stone just because I like Lightning!

Actually that means that the benefits of the animal parts are incredibly variable and random. One set of parts could get you a lot of Flesh and Blood, but a very weak Mind stat, it could be perfectly balanced, or it could give a weak Blood and Bone, but a strong Mind and Nerve. It can result in any arrangement of stats. Hence, highly mutable.

Slime Core seems like it would be most mutable, provide good basis for stuff.

I realized Parchment would lower the Seals. We need high Seals. HIGH!
There is also a noticeable pattern. What was living in any sort of manner gives some Seals bonus... hm.

Big Question, @EdroGrimshell, what about using proper blood or flesh or such as a material? Plants other than wood? You know, as write-in materials
