[X] Mention that the same natural lattice can be use to weaponize plasma. Only several materials to your knowledge is capable of blocking it.
-[x]Even then that material gets burnt through quickly by beam weaponry, and had difficulty blocking more powerful beam weapons
--[x]Minovsky particles are the best way to block beam weapons, or possibly redirect them
"That is not the only use we have for it Master, the minovsky particle lattice, or I-field, can also be used outside the reactor itself, for jamming enemy sensors, or for molding directing plasma. Beam weapons wouldn't be possible without it." You continue your explanation, in the strange position to educate someone on minovsky particles, as if in a world where they were not commonplace. It feels unnatural.
"Again however, due to the containment of the plasma field being maintained by a lattice of minovsky particles, range is limited, power requirements are rather large, and it creates a possible hazard if a beam weapon, either blade or shot, pierces the lattice layer around the fusion reaction without destroying the reactor… That's how Nine..." You are quiet a moment, before shaking your head.
"Beam weaponry tends to be considered worth the risk, only special coatings over advanced composites have shown any resistance to beam weapons, and only for a low volume of fire. Capital grade cannons can punch straight through entire battleships with no effort, though some mechanisms have been developed to spread Minovsky Clouds to distort or redirect incoming fire."
You look up again, seeing with some measure of surprise that Daniel has closed a bit, looking somewhat concerned, though feeling lost and conflicted. You look to the side, where a small mirror enables you to realize that you have cried at some point.
Dammit.
Your Master appears to be caught up in thought about the information you relayed to him, which buys you time to remove the evidence of your partial breakdown. Taking a deep breath, you look directly at Daniel, not wishing to interrupt your Master's train of thought. "Daniel, about the men who were here… the armored ones, who were they exactly? Blue Suns is a title but it doesn't mean much. Are they a gang?"
Daniel seems startled, but mostly collects himself and sighs before humming to himself, "The Blue Suns act like and aren't much better than a gang, but they are actually mercenaries, and fairly well known not just in Omega. Though lately there has been a lot of friction on Omega between them, the Blood Pack, and Eclipse. They are all pretty much the same if you ask me, but they tend to favor different species in hiring. Blood Pack probably are the worst of the bunch."
You parse that out a moment before making your next remark, "So, we are an unclaimed business, in the disputed territory of three opposed forces composed of individuals with little respect for conventions or ethics."
Daniel winces, and you can't hold it against him. "Yeah, basically." He says while rubbing the back of his head.
[] Insist, strongly, that you be returned your sidearm, and be directed in how to get something more sufficient for defending the clinic.
[] Request more information on a specific gang, perhaps they can be made use of or neutralized.
