[X] EternalStruggle

Ok, so we have meet Oriko at last, there are a pair of things we need to focus on.

First, there is no Kirika around, which means that this is around the time before she took her contract. (Unless Rex states otherwise).

Second, if she gives away her precognitive powers we will have an advantage because we may be able to cross information to find out who is the devil and, with any luck, stop her plan against Madoka and save her from Homura before she kills her.

Now, IC, Tatsuya would know how to read body language after surviving for so long with other people being hostile to each other; however, he is still naïve and thinks that diplomacy may work with her, which can or can't in this particular case.

ey, Oriko's here

[X] Okay then, stay calm. She's more scared of you than the inverse if her voice is anything to go by. Raise your hands in a non-threatening gesture.
[X] "You can call me Tatsuya, and I'm not here to do you any harm. I just felt your magical presence and decided to investigate."
Edit:

[X] but still don't let your guard down, you can't know whether she's hostile or not

She didn't 'see' Tatsuya? How odd. The flashback though. Apparently Homura/Homucifer was once upon a time Tatsuya's favourite person.

Oriko and Kirika are a dangerous team o have as an enemy and Oriko is a fragile asset, that said, she can be useful. Unfortunately, she usually struggles to control her powers and they're expensive in terms of grief seeds. Luckily, she should approve of our mission.

Yeah, the Christmas memories hammer home that the Devil's obsession with Madoka ended up ruining the rest of the family as well; being used as puppets in her little Madoka-centric passion plays gradually submerged their memories of each other, to the point where Tatsuya doesn't even remember his mother's name or the basic verbal signifier for "female parent".

No, that's not the case, he remembers his mother just fine, it's just that he remembers Homura too, in a time and place that she had no reason to be.
Mommy had gotten you a new coloring book and Daddy got you crayons to go with it. Madoka got you a new sweater that was kind of itchy (Yuck!) and a new toy dinosaur (Awesome!). But the best gift you got that day was…

"Hello Takkun! Are you having lots of fun today? Here, look at what I got you."

She
had gotten you a teddy bear bigger than you were. That teddy bear had been soft and big and fluffy and big and fuzzy and big and it was immediately your new favorite! She had smiled at you and laughed with your family as you ran around the room in excitement. She had such a pretty smile. She had held you in her lap while Madoka was busy helping Daddy. She had held you close and kept you warm and made everything better. She had loved you. Just like Madoka…

Homucifer seems to have either been a part of Tatsuva's life in a way that he has vague memories of, or retroactively inserted herself into Madoka's life.

Homucifer seems to have either been a part of Tatsuya's life in a way that he has vague memories of, or retroactively inserted herself into Madoka's life.

I would say the latter is more probable because she eventually started to forget about him. I don't know, but that last line of the flashback would make things far more bitter if it really was Homucifer.

Or it could be the off chance that it's another person but that's highly unlikely.

(I doubt @RexHeller will let it be that easy, but any option that forces the QM to think hard to avoid giving you an insta-win is a good option.)
Wehihihi. Do you really think I'd even include Oriko if I hadn't already thought of why she isn't an instant win?
[x] I'm Tatsuya. I'm looking for the devil. Tell me about your suffering.
Read that in Christian Bale's Batman voice. Die laughing.

Anyway, I should clarify a bit on the Christmas memory. It was from the time when Tatsuya was still in the perfect world the Devil made. Normally, the Devil sticks to the same formula: school day, hang out with friends at lunch, after school hang around two and have a good time. However sometimes she'd change it up, particularly in the early days of the dream world when she wasn't as far gone into her obsession. In this instance she had made it Christmas even though it was the middle of the school year the day before. She let the Kanames have a nice morning together before showing up in the afternoon to spend the rest of the day with them. Oh, and Tatsuya still doesn't remember the Devil's face or voice.

Everyone be cautious of the fact that Kirika could be hiding outside our view, and her powerset could be literally anything since it's popular fanon that it changes based on what Oriko needs in that timeline.

Personally hit "Terminator" for me, though I don't know why. Still just as funny.
Probably cause time travel. That's a good idea actually.

Scene: Gertrude's Barrier.

Madoka and Sayaka are being threatened by an Anthony familiar when suddenly it's destroyed by a shotgun blast.

Tatsuya: Come with me if you want to live.

Gertrud. No "e" at the end. :p
