The lead girl rushed at you with her weapon as the air shimmered around you. She swung at you as you leaned back to dodge before she twisted her body to swing faster. Avoiding her attack, you caught her wrist rising up before you elbowed her chest and palming her away.
She staggered back before being caught by her comrades. You stood firm with your allies behind you as the axe girl spat out her orders.
"What are you waiting for?! Get her!" She roared as the other girls rushed you.
You timed a spear strike and redirected it upwards. The air shimmered as your force field had it bounce, you turned to guard against a hammer blow before you dodged a dual naginata swing. You rolled away as the girls slashed at you. You held up your hand to absorb the force of their blow.
One of the girls tried shooting you from the side but you dodged it. You kicked off the ground as you flipped over her before pulling yourself back into the park where you unleashed a powerful blow on her body.
The absorbed energy inside your shields was released and drove the poor girl into the dirt.
"What the hell?! She isn't even transformed!" One of the girls said before axe girl swung her weapon down at you.
You guarded and her weapon bounced off in a blue flash. You then thrust your hand into her stomach where you unleashed the kinetic force of her blow back into her body. She flew back first into the slide where you ran after her and grabbed her head.
Slamming it into the bars metal, you then grabbed the slide and kneed her head into it as a finisher. You then turned where you absorbed a projectiles with your shield before smashing the ground to emit a wave of energy. The magical girls spread out, allowing you to grab the axe girl's weapon to throw it at one of them.
That should distract them enough as you went for the obvious targets. Dropping on the ground, you slid beneath the legs of one girl before grabbing her clothes to slam her into the dirt.
"Let her go!" A green magical girl cried out as she summoned a barrage of blue bullets.
You guarded and absorbed the blast as you released the pulse straight through the chest of the girl beneath you. That's three down. Rising up, you dashed to the next girl as she hesitated. Were they not used to fighting other people?
She swept her wand and had a green hand reach to grab you. You then jumped to avoid it just as crystal shards circled you. You then raised your shields as they all came flying at you at the same time.
This however allowed the girl in green to grab your leg and slam you into the ground. You were then thrown across the park to hit the public bathrooms. Your body smashed through concrete like it was wet paper before you landed in a sink.
Letting out a breath, you raised your gaze as the magical girls opted to work together rather than take you on their own. They combined their strength at once before unleashing a vicious light based beam at you.
So you guarded.
"YUKINA!"
Your shields shattered layer by layer before you grit your teeth. You can feel the corruption rise from one of your Seeds as you took on the burden of such an attack. You absorbed the blow before sliding back in a stance.
The Magical Girls all gasped as you saw their gems darken a bit.
"Release," you breathed as you thrust your palm to unleash a blast ring which sent the three girls flying. You blinked before you fell down on your knee.
The burden on your seed is too much too soon. The sudden spike in exertion wasn't doing you any favors. You have to maintain a balance between your powers or risk overusing one Seed and leading it to hatch.
The magical girls all rose up soon after your turn. You can see it now. While your attack power may be formidable, they have the ability to endure. You'll end up being spent before you could take them all out like this.
You watched as one of the girls shoot from behind her allies. You blocked as another came down from above with a slash. Dodging it left your side open which you blocked with your palm before raising your other hand to block the first strike.
You then grabbed their weapons and shifted the gravity around your body. You lifted them up and tossed the magical girls aside as you clapped your hands to stop an axe from slamming into your face.
Gritting your teeth, you kicked the girl before deflecting the axe and turning to kick her stomach. You then flipped back to have your feet knock her upwards with a kick.
You then used the kinetic force you absorbed and released it into her stomach. The axe girl flew and hit a pole. Crystals ran from the ground and nearly skewered you just as a giant hand smashed down where you stood.
The crystal girl gathered up her crystals to form a sword the green girl used her giant hand to wield. They combined their magic to attack as you raised your shields to block it precisely and deflect it. Using the gargantuan force behind their blow, you returned it to them in a violent blast of magic.
With them out of the way, you lowered your hand and fell down. Sai and Mika ran to your side to support you as you were left exhausted.
"You idiot! You can't take on six of them like that! They're going to outlast you unless you're serious!" Sai reprimanded you as she grabbed your shoulders, "Magical girls are your natural enemy, you'll run out of steam before you do anything. You're lucky that they're idiots."
You grimaced as you nodded. Burning. One of your Grief seeds was burning beneath your flesh.
However just as you recovered, one of the girls laughed. It was the axe girl from before.
"Idiots? You're... The idiots here..." She grunted as she raised her head.
Mika narrowed her eyes at her and said, "Looks like someone hasn't been beaten enough."
"While you're here... We already had girls moving to question Uchida. You won't... Be seeing her around anymore once the Captain's done with her," the girl laughed as she looked at you.
Sai blinked in surprise before she pulled out her phone. She dialed Sanctuary's number and hissed under her breath.
"You... What did Reika do?!" Sai snarled as she got up.
"Payback," the girl chuckled as you narrowed your gaze at her. You then turned to Sai as she had her mind racing.

Now, something I wanted to bring up earlier.
However, that isn't what happened with Yukina it seems. We'll have to remember to question Sai more later.
Nacht has seen a lot of use and we're paying for it, and Lachesis might corrupt a lot if we dig through her mind looking for information she might not have. Turning her into a witch doesn't get us anything either, and having to get out of her barrier is taking more time we don't have. We'll have to get revenge for this stupidity later. At the very least they're all going to lose their tongues. Not ax girl though, she told us something useful. An eye then. Maybe some fingers.

Now, something I wanted to bring up earlier.
So the culprit steals the soul gem, then either lets it corrupt somewhere or fills it with grief, if perhaps they're a Griefborne. These are all powerful girls, so they make powerful witches which kills a few more girls before they're brought down. So not only is she doing more killing through the witches, but then the group has to spend time on the witches on not the killer. Quite the nasty way to keep the heat off of them.
However, that isn't what happened with Yukina it seems. We'll have to remember to question Sai more later.

Doesn't matter. Releasing grief into the area is slow, might take too long. If you still want to try a plan like that, shove the grief into them directly. That's much faster.

How long is longer isn't clear. Could ask @AnonymousRabbit, but seeing as we've never done it before he could fairly not tell us. Either way "Tell me where my creator is or I'll dump my grief in you" makes for a much better threat.

My first read was that the difference was lesser than you're implying, but you're right in that precautions should be taken.
I guess in the absence of confirmation the weaponized grief vote is superior, due to the worst case taking much longer than is allowable imo. Though i will refrain from voting for now as confirmation for or against may soon appear.
I will let that info decide it.

It would be ten minutes or so. You need to make physical contact like pressing your hand on the ground or wall and just imbuing it with corruption to cleaned cleanse yourself. It takes longer doing it to a place or object than say a Soul Gem because the Soul Gem would just latch pull your corruption in it like a sponge if left unchecked. You can instantly turn people into witches at your current grief level but can also darken their gems with speeds at your discretion.
But that's all kinds of fucked up as pointed out by your friends earlier.
Grief levels below 30% can be imbued in objects as small as a basketball while going above that would require you to corrupt a small plot of land or a lot of objects. Those would be prime Witch Baits.

Yes but that will take even longer. It's all about transferring it to somewhere else. You'd be creating a miasma of corruption though that's akin to neurotoxin to Magical Girls but instead of killing them, they'll turn into witches.
Also dumping your corruption into the seeds may just hasten the seeds' hatching. But grief seeds in themselves are valuable and could be used as premium currency when interacting with magical girls.

Ummm... Firstly, yes we do want to slowly dump grief into the sir because that would mean a lower concentration of grief over an area(as long as we keep moving eg on a search) meaning we don't attract witches as much. Also wind and stuff like that.
I'm confused over the second sentence, can we not just give the used Grief Seeds to Kyubey?
