You already gave them the two girls you'll be going with. Everyone seemed to have no problems with that as the time you had ran short. There were already reports of Chimeras appearing on the front line, only to be shot down by the range attacking magical girls. Some snipers had been set up to thin the inevitable horde of monsters rampaging their way towards the city.
Scouts were sent ahead to confirm the number of enemies coming while other Magical Girls employed scrying magic to discern where the monsters were coming from. An entire army of chimeric monsters wielding the powers bestowed upon them by the Envoy. Fake imitations that wouldn't live past tomorrow. Either way, they had to be stopped before they came for Yuri.
The Ritual Team was to be protected by the Assault team where they would hold off Yukina until the device was ready to take her down. You were in one of those teams with the hardest hitting Magical Girls to booth. Kazumi was pretty famous and Kasane's strength was nothing to scoff at, you beat her after all so you knew first hand what it was like.
So you waited. You waited with them as the three of you stayed at a room within the City Hall.
"It's almost time," Kasane said as she crossed her arms while looking at the darkened skies. The dark clouds you saw this afternoon had come hovering over the city as more reports of hostiles came from the frontline.
"It is..." Kazumi murmured as she rubbed her shoulder, "Well, I guess it's now or never."
"You sure you're not better off spending this fight with your friends?" Kasane asked you as she turned your way. You tightened your gloves around your hands before clenching them into fists.
You turned her way and said, "I have faith in them. Besides they'll just get distracted looking after me."
"Right. Let's get going then," Kazumi smiled as she walked to the door and opened it. You and Kasane walked out of it to go down the hall and come upon the lobby of the building. Magical Girls were setting up beds and tables for the inevitable flood of injured people.
You walked past them as Kasane and Kazumi accompanied you by your side. You could see other magical girls sparing your group looks and whispering to one another.
"That's her, right? Falsus?"
"Yeah, you recognize the other two with her? Those are Asunaro's girls."
"I heard of Meteor but I didn't know she had a twin."
"So... That's the girl?"
"Yeah, the one just left. Would have been nice to talk to her though."
"Whatever happens the outcome of this fight will depend on them."
You walked forward towards the starting point. It should be where the Assault Group should be converging. The three of you ran, bursts of white light erupting on either side of you as Kazumi and Kasane transformed on the fly. You three kicked off the ground to jump up a nearby building before moving towards your desginated spot for the battle.
You tapped into your ear as you listened to a magical device given to you by Reika.
"Calling all Magical Girls. This is Kaguya Fujiwara, Chairwoman of the Kyoto Magical Girl Alliance. I'll assume everyone can hear me," Kaguya spoke into your ear while the other two girls behind you nodded in acknowledgement, "We all know the score. The Pandora will hit this City within twenty minutes. I want you all to be ready."
"Got a few Tokyo Girls with us," a voice spoke.
"Seems like you Kyoto girls didn't turn tail and run," another noted.
"Doesn't matter where we're from. What matters is we get this thing done, right girls?" a cheery voice chimed in.
Kaguya took this moment to speak up, "Okay. Let's get the last minute preparations done with. Hurry!"
"Umika will be our charge. We have to support her and her group of girls while we can as the others cut a path to the Pandora for us," Kazumi told you from your side, "We can't afford to lose now."
"Yukina, your body may not be at its best so focus on supporting me and Kazumi if you can. I'm not saying you shouldn't fight but watch our backs. We're not invincible," Kasane said as she kept up from your left.
"Understood," you nodded before the three of you stopped at the edge of town, looking over a rail track sitting just before the path leading into the city. All you had to do was get to Umika before everything started off.
However just as you did you felt the ground shake beneath you. You and your companions watched as Magical Girls retreated as the pavement split down below and cracked open. Something was rising from the right side of the main highway, only to be followed by a large miasma of grief erupting from its mere presence.
A Wheel with an Agonized face rose up and screeched. Grief erupted all around, swallowing some girls on the ground followed by the shattering of Soul Gems. The Wheel Witch howled once more as her rims blazed with blue fire before rolling from the paddy field, skidding upon the road where a Barrier began to form from the Witched Magical Girl.
The Witch ran over the barrier and forced out the Witch which hid within, consuming the newborn Witch and taking its body as its own. It was huge, just as big as the building you stood on. Grief erupted from her mere presence and having no Barrier spoke levels of her power. It was a Witch powerful enough to exist in the open world.
"An Ancient!" Kazumi cried out as she held out her hand to summon her staff.
"It's already starting. Of course Pandora's not going to wait," Kasane growled as she rested her Purification Rod on her shoulder.
"An... Ancient..?" You asked with a frown while turning to your companions.
"An Ancient Witch. Kyoto has existed for a long time and it's not a big secret Kyubey has been running his racket for just as long. These are Ancient Witches Magical Girls couldn't kill. Powerful creatures that refused to die and simply became dormant as they buried themselves underground. They don't wake up for no reason but they're strong... They're just a step below the nightmares at Aokighara," Kazumi explained as she leaned on her staff as the Witch left a trail blaze in its wake.
"Kyoto's rich with these things... They're probably waking up due to Pandora," Kasane breathed as she held her hand on her weapon, "If it reaches Kyoto then more of these things will wake up."
"The frontliners can defeat them but it'll spill a lot of lives," Kazumi said as she got ready.
"We don't have time to help. Let's go meet up with Misaki and help her," Kasane decided as she turned to her twin.

[] Meet up with the Ritual Group
"The sooner we end this, the less of these things will awaken," you decided as you turned to Kasane, "Let's go. Kazumi, can you cover us?"
The three of you saw the Ancient Witch being blocked by a group of eight girls, forcing it on the defensive as they fought it as best they could. There were explosions which erupted in the distance followed by blasts of magical light as you saw Chimeras rush in from the front line. Your group didn't stick around as you moved towards where your Ritual Group was located. It's begun earlier than any of you expected but none of your were surprised at the least.
Chimeras charged like a ravenous army before being met with the stalwart defenses of Chise's girls. Blasts of Magic tore through their ranks as Ancient Witches took the skies and dived down towards the front liners. Bolts of Magic erupted from the city as your group dashed to your destination. The night had changed as Pandora loomed ever so close to the city.
The moon had turned purple in golden and seemed to enlarge in response as Chimeras howled.
"Hostiles inbound on the East side! There's a lot of them! East Faction engaging!"
"We've got a visual of the Amalgam Barriers Pandora! It's huge! We're supposed to take that thing down?!"
"Enough complaints! We need a cool head for this! Fight efficiently! The important thing is we don't get overwhelmed!"
"Some of them are breaking through the barricades! Shit! Stragglers got in!"
You continued to run across the rooftop until you ended up seeing a Chimera climbing the side of the one you were running on. Clad in dark cloaks and radiating grief, the Chimera wore your appearance with a feral aura. No hint of intelligence or even a soul was within such a creature. She snarled as she rounded up your way before Kasane and Kazumi could react.
You charged straight for the creature and jumped to catch its swing at you with your boot. Kicking down her arm, you grabbed her by the head and smashed her into the ground. Kasane followed up your attack with her own weapon to bisect her enemy. You moved and jumped to deliver a kick on one of the Chimeras that got to where you were, knocking them off the building as you jumped.
Soaring through the air, you smashed through the nearby building's window and landed in a roll. Kasane and Kazumi kept up with you as you moved forward. You were getting close to your starting location before Kazumi stopped and pulled you back. A dark blade of Grief sliced through the walls and nearly caught you, prompting her to fire through the thin wall.
The Chimera behind it was thrown through several tables before her body dissipated.
"That was close," Kazumi chuckled.
"Be careful," Kasane warned you as the three of you moved. Coming up to another window, you three jumped through it to arrive just over an intersection. You could see Umika's outfit among the Magical Girls that stood at the center of the street. They were able to take down Chimeras coming their way but they didn't seem to be focused combatants.
Using Tatyana's power, you slowed down your fall before grabbing unto a lamp post and tearing it off. Hitting the ground, you threw the light at the coming Chimera and knocked it down to be pummeled by magic from all angles. Umika turned to the sky to see Kasane and Kazumi unleashing bolts of white light to pierce the ground and protect the Ritual Group.
"Glad you could make it," Umika sight as she turned to you and her friends, "The party started so early."
"Seems like these things need to be taught manners on how to wait," Kazumi said as she rested her staff over her shoulder.
"Pandora's hitting the city in a few minutes. Is everyone ready?" Kasane asked with a serious tone.
The Magical Girls all nodded in assent as you turned to see more Chimeras coming your way. Clenching your fists, you moved to intercept them. You smashed your fist into the first Chimera before grabbing on to her arm and swinging her at the next one, sending them both flying to the side before you set another aflame with your rainbow fire before striking their chins with your heel as they smashed into a wall.
"Need help!" you yelled as bolts of white light erupted from either side of you to take care of the next few that came from the front.
"Stick with Yukina and you'll be okay!" Kazumi said as the girls watched you fight in awe.
Umika spoke up as you came up to them, "The device is ready. We have to set it on a specific point beneath where the battle with the Blue Queen will occur. Still, we have to navigate through this mess."
"Is that the Asunaro Team? We're the detachment deployed to cover you girls! Don't worry, we'll keep your paths clear!"
You saw blurs of color rushing from the rooftops above to meet with the approaching cloaked figures breaking through the front line. Kazumi and Kasane took this chance to lead the others to the battlefield with the Blue Queen. You followed suit as they ran while enemies slowly began cropping up. The ground was awash with Grief thanks to the combined presence of the Ancient Witches and Pandora.
Kasane and Kazumi worked together to take out the rabble that got in their way while you intercepted any Chimeras that got too close to the group. Explosions rang off the distance before the screams erupted. They weren't coming from the Chimeras being rained down upon by magical fire but other Magical Girls.
Grief spiked towards the areas you head those screams come from. More girls were Witching...
A nearby building was blasted apart by fighting Magical Girls and Chimeras. Three Magical Girls were taking on a group of ten Chimeras all at once before you jumped into the fray. You grabbed one and burned her before you smashed the body into another. Kasane closed in and cut through the thick of the enemy group before the others girls pulled their weight and downed the remaining ones.
Stomping on the head of a Chimera you turned to them as they let out shaky breath.
"Medic!" Kasane yelled as a girl had to be brought to your team to be healed as she had lost a chunk of her face and side.
"Attention all Magical Girls on the front. We're holding the line. Prepare for combat against Ancient Witches. Let your Escorts deal with them, just get to your stations and be safe! Front liners, return the injured to base! Get your fastest girls on the job!"
"This is Shinzaki of the Western faction. We just got saved by Falsus and her girls. Hey, we owe you one."
You managed a smile before they took their friend to safety while you and Kasane saw a Witch swoop down from above. A grand pillar of light erupted from behind you two as Kazumi pierced through the Witch's wings and forced it to crash nearby. It hit a building's wall just as a few Magical Girls responded to its collapse by attacking it while its pinned down.
"Let's go!" Kazumi cheered as your group advanced.
"Pandora entrance in 10 minutes! Get ready!"
"This is the Asunaro Team, we're near our designated point," Umika declared through her magical device on her ear, "We encountered a few hindrances but we made it."
"Asunaro Team, this is the East Faction Detachment 5, there's a powerful Witch here! Get away! Get-"
The line was cut off fast. Your group stopped before the building you were going to set up at and saw that it was burning. You could sense a powerful pool of Grief spiking up inside the building. Your senses were screaming at you as you saw a human figure walk through the fire dragging the corpse of a Magical Girl in her hand.
It was a Witch.
An Ancient Witch in the form of a humanoid. She was dressed in old and tattered kimono and had matted black hair. Upon the Witch's face was a Demon's Mask, a Hannya, depicting the anguished expression of a woman scorned and envious. She didn't have the abstract appearance normal Witches had but you could tell just by looking that she was a Witch.
A rusted katana hung loosely in her grasp before she dropped the corpse she was holding.
"Not good. This one's bad news," Kasane growled as she and Kazumi got ready.
"Yukina, stand back. We'll handle this," Kazumi ordered as she began to glow white alongside Kasane, their Soul Gems gleaming.
The Hannya Witch raised her katana and directed its blade towards you as a challenge. She wanted you specifically and your Witches squirmed underneath your flesh in response.

An Ancient Witch in the form of a humanoid. She was dressed in old and tattered kimono and had matted black hair. Upon the Witch's face was a Demon's Mask, a Hannya, depicting the anguished expression of a woman scorned and envious. She didn't have the abstract appearance normal Witches had but you could tell just by looking that she was a Witch.
A rusted katana hung loosely in her grasp before she dropped the corpse she was holding.
"Not good. This one's bad news," Kasane growled as she and Kazumi got ready.
"Yukina, stand back. We'll handle this," Kazumi ordered as she began to glow white alongside Kasane, their Soul Gems gleaming.
The Hannya Witch raised her katana and directed its blade towards you as a challenge. She wanted you specifically and your Witches squirmed underneath your flesh in response.

On the other hand, if one pops out in front of the ritual group, will they even last long enough to get back to them? It can go both ways.

What I'd like to do is the Ritual Group hold back with us, but we don't have the time. That being the case, it's better to get the current known threat dealt with quickly as possible, then guard for an unknown possible threat.
Kasane went blow to blow with us when we were stronger than we are now. Kazumi is at least her equal. We won't make a large enough difference to warrant leaving the ritual group unguarded for however long it will take in the middle of what might as well be a battlefield.

"Understood," you nodded as you turned to the other girl's behind you, "Let's hurry! We don't have time to waste!"
The Ritual Group agreed before you began to move. The Witch stared at you as you ran while Kazumi and Kasane brought up their weapons. It was then the Witch moved in a blur and intercepted you from your left, only for Kasane to guard your side and catching the katana with her Naginata. She kicked the Witch away as your group managed to get away.
"I'll be your enemy," she growled as she began to glow white.
"Kazumi! You make sure you catch up! We're not waiting!" Umika yelled as your group dashed away only to see brilliant white clash against Void which the Witch employed in her battle.
The twin magical girls dueled the Witch as she found that they were the greater threat in the group. You decided to take the lead and keep going as Pandora loomed on the distance. It was a warzone more than anything, Chimeras fought Magical Girls as Ancient Witches marched the street. Regular Witches were being cut down by scores but many more girls ended up dead on the pavement.
Your group ran before three Chimeras charged at you. Setting your hands on fire, you fired balls of flames at them forcing your foes to dodge. That scattered them long enough for you to shoot straight for one of them and kick her through the chest. Keeping your hands lit, you swept it across the air to draw aggression from the enemies and keep them from going for the Ritual Group.
Letting out a breath, you went in one of the Chimeras as she tried slamming down a claw on your head. Catching it with your forearm, you drove your fist into her gut before grabbing her head to smash her skull.
You then turned and struck her with a heel kick which sent her into the dirt. The next one lashed out with her tail before you leaned back to evade it. Flipping over, you watched the Chimera lunged at you as you blocked with your arms.
You were pushed back before you stopped and raised your foot to catch her by the chin, launching her to the air. You grabbed her by the leg and slammed her down into the dirt before dragging her across the ground to throw into a nearby building.
"Go!" You snapped as you moved to intercept a few more Chimeras. They rushed in with their feral movements before you clashed with the first and smacked her down. Picking up a piece of debris on the ground, you smashed it into the face of another before burning the next one as you went to follow your Group.
Going past the first location point, Umika decided to switch up the area you were going to have to hold the ritual. You came upon a central fountain area in the middle of the commercial district. Pandora was slowly moving through the edge of the city and having broken through the first line of defense the Magical Girls had all set up. You kept up with them as more Magical Girls showed up behind you to take on the approaching hordes of Chimeras and Witches.
"We're here," Umika decided as she turned to the other members of her group, "Set up the device! The rest of you, begin ritual preparations, start with the first round of circuits. Channel your magic and make sure they're working properly, just like we practiced!"
You moved to guard them just as you heard an explosion at the distance. You could see light, a familiar haunting blue light at the base of Pandora's structure. The blue light pierced the sky before crashing down and cutting through the city, causing a wall of inferno to erupt as you sensed the grief signatures of Magical Girls just die.
"The Queen's made her move! North Start Team has made contact with her! Begin the operation!"
"We're cut off from the others! This inferno is some manner of magical fire! We can't provide support!"
"Help! Help she's going to kill us! HELP!"
You couldn't help but listen as another explosion rang out from the distance. The Pandora was coming your way. A fight wasn't going to be out of the realm of possibility. The girls in your group were starting to fray but they kept working anyway. You turned to see a Witch hop down from a building and drag a massive club with her. A massive humanoid Witch stomped her way towards you, bearing the appearance of an Eastern Ogre. An Oni.
Umika stared at the Ancient Witch before looking back at you, "Yukina, that's dangerous. We should relocate."
"We're gonna die. We're gonna die!" one of the ritual girls cried out in a panic.
"Calm down! We can make it through this!" another girl tried saying but wasn't convinced herself.
The Oni cracked a feral smile as she hefted her club over her shoulder. You clenched your fist as you tried to decide. However before you could even give out your orders, one of the Ritual Girls cracked and ended up running. She broke out of the group she was with and just turned tail to run away, causing the Witch Oni to turn and look at her.
The Witch moved to give chase.
