[X] Take the hits but tackle the Envoy away from Kaguya!

Don't we have enough to deal with already? Come on. She got her comeuppance.

She's been killed like four times already!

Or at least twice onscreen at any rate... Probably more than that...

[] Take the hits but tackle the Envoy away from Kaguya!

You had little time to react. You moved towards the Envoy just as the Snakes sank their fangs on your raised arm to protect yourself. You smashed your shoulder against her back as she staggered away from Kaguya. Setting your arm and leg on fire, you burned the snakes away but ended up taking in whatever was inside their fangs. You felt a sharp burning sensation course through your body as the Envoy chuckled darkly as Kaguya supported you from the side.

"Fast but not fast enough, GriefBorne," the Envoy said as she raised her hand as she smiled at you.

You got up and moved yourself between her and Kaguya, "You're still alive?"

"I'm very hard to kill, actually," the Envoy said as she gave you an amused look.

"You... What do you want? Your Masters have been quiet as of late," Kaguya hissed as she spoke from behind you.

"Masters? Well, the Executives are keeping their hands off this incident. They've already sent Kyoto support in the coming battle. They have little to do with me now that I've betrayed them," the Envoy hummed as she crossed her arms.

"You really expect me to buy that? Then why do all of this?" Kaguya hissed angrily as she clenched her hand into a fist.

"I've had my eyes on you for a long time, Lady Kaguya. And I never really liked you in the first place. Ridding of you here and silencing the GriefBorne would be a few pieces off the table for me to deal with. You've made yourselves quite the beacon of light in these trying times. Subduing the Blue Queen and leaving no chance for me to acquire her body goes against my agenda after all," the Envoy said as she walked your way. She then held up a finger before her lips, "Adding a little bit more Chaos can be the proverbial wrench in your plan."

Your eyes widened as you glanced at the fallen clipboard, "You... What did you do to Yuri?"

Kaguya winced at that before breathing out, "Shit."

"I'm sure you'll come to like it. Knowing you, you'll make it out of this. But still," the Envoy snapped her fingers as the world around you changed, "I'll try killing you here. Even if I lose, I can always come back later."

"Yukina. She's immortal," Kaguya growled as she stood behind your back.

"I know. Leave it to m-" you blinked as you felt your body weaken for a moment. Your body wasn't responding properly to your commands. The burning pain coursing through your veins.

The Envoy's world manifested soon after, cutting you off from the rest of the building and leaving you and Kaguya alone with her. The sky turned darker than it was before as lightning streaked across it. It had begun to rain as the Envoy stood before you and transformed her host's body into her Magical Girl outfit.

You clenched your fist as you watched her dash towards you. Even as your body felt sluggish, you leaned away from her punch and saw the glint of her dagger. You caught her knife hand with your left before she elbowed your chest. You watched her dash up a wall and perform a kick which struck you across the face.

Her hand thrust at your throat fast, forcing you to redirect it as she flipped over to land a kick at you. She turned to slash your eyes but you blocked her attack and delivered a blow to her side. She turned and raised her leg to sweep it across the air as you ducked, only for her knife to find your stomach as the two of you locked gazes.

VS
UNDYING SERPENT
THE ENVOY OF TOKYO

The Envoy tore her blade out of your body as you ended up staggering. She smiled as she lowered her weapon just as it shined green for a moment before extending. Lowering the sword into the ground, she dragged it for a bit before moving to slash you. Dashing back, you turned away as she cut into the railing of the rooftop.

You rolled beneath her strike before she ended up going for a thrust. You charged straight for her and palmed the blade past your shoulder as you drove a fist at her. The Envoy weaved out of the way as your elbows collided with one another.

"Not bad. But don't celebrate yet!" she whispered before she shoved you back as you baited her slash and stomped on her blade.

You moved in to perform a haymaker but she weaved out of the way and cut your side. You bled as you dodged out of the way of her next strike, her sword cutting your cheek and drawing blood. You punched as she blocked her with her pommel, allowing you to grab her weapon by the hilt and dragging her to you.

Driving your foot into her knee broke her poise and allowed you to smack down her weapon into the floor. She palmed you across the face before you moved to block and defend against her blows. You parried her uppercut and punched her stomach to shove her shoulder and sidestep her jab. Grabbing her overextended arm, you used her weight and momentum to throw her over your shoulder into the ground.

Raising your leg up, you performed an axe kick as she rolled away from you. You looked down and kicked away her sword before she rushed you with a flying kick. You leaned back as you moved in. The poison in your body burned your core before you got distracted. The Envoy moved past you and struck the back of your neck with a backhand, sending you leaning against a railing.

"Yukina!" Kaguya cried out as you turned to see the Envoy come in with a punch.

She broke the railing as you staggered away before you ducked beneath her next strike and smash her back first into it. She kneed your gut hard before punch you across the face. She hopped back and stepped off the railing to drive her heel against your face as you fell down. You rolled back as you fell before you looked back at her.

"You're getting slow, GriefBorne!" the Envoy hissed as she struck like a viper would, fast and ruthless.

You caught her fist with your palm before you kicked her hand away. Turning to face her, you raised your leg as she did the same, having your legs to both collide in the air hard. Pushing off one another, you stumbled back from the poison while the Envoy merely fixed her outfit. She raised her hands in a stance as she got ready to meet you.

"Don't push yourself. You're dying after all," the Envoy taunted as she shrugged with a shake of her head.

"You sure love to talk," you growled as you moved towards her.

Sliding beneath her, the Envoy was forced to sidestep your attack as you stopped using Tatyana's gravity power and then palm the ground beneath you. Using your momentum, you swung your legs in the air and caught the Envoy on her chest as you got up. Pressing the advantage, you moved with a jab but the Envoy elbowed the blow away and jumped with a kick of her own.

She was trying to control the flow given it was leaning on either her momentum or yours. The rain fell as you flipped back to the railings and hopped on top of one of them. Kicking off, you went past the Envoy as you swung your leg at her, using Tatyana again as brakes for you to swing back from the ground and unleash rainbow fire once you turned.

The Envoy punched through the flames and struck. You blocked and defended a flurry of blinding strikes until she managed to land a hit on your gut. The Envoy capitalized by driving her knee on your face before smashing your jaw with her elbow. You planted your foot behind you and moved to catch her by her leg.

Pulling her in, you landed your palm across her jaw before you saw her stumble back. Grabbing her by her costume, you smashed her into a wall before stepping on her stomach with Tatyana's power, performing an axe kick down her skull which forced her on her knees. The Envoy moved to grab your waist but you smashed your knee into her face, only to grab her head and smash it against the wall behind her.

You turned and struck her face with your elbow to which she bounced off the wall again, allowing you to trip her up and have her fall into the ground. You gasped as you fell down your knees as your body slowly collapsed from the poison. You were struck across the face and slammed into the wall. The Envoy dragged up against it and pinned as she locked your arms and pressed her forearm against your throat.

"What are you going to do, GriefBorne? You're going to kill me too?" the Envoy hissed as her eyes turned into reptilian slits.

"I'll... bring you... to justice," you growled back as you set your hands on fire, forcing her off you. You swept your hands through the air before you turned to kick through the raindrops as rainbow fire left your heels.

Landing on the ground, you faced her as you held your throat.

"You'll have me judged?" the Envoy asked as she raised her hands as lightning streaked across the sky, "You'll actually try and bring me down? You're much more of a disappointment than I thought."

"It's because it's the right thing to do," you breathed as you held up your fists, "You'll pay for your crimes. You'll atone for them. You'll be judged by the people you've wronged and be sentenced. That's why I'm putting you under arrest."

"Oh you're just precious," the Envoy hissed as she got into her stance. The rain began to bear down on the two of you as you locked on to one another's gaze.

Showdown
[] Utilize your abilities as best you can. You'll need every edge you have in this fight.
[] Don't use your Seeds. You can beat her as you were instead of hastening your degradation.

Hmm, a possible weakness? She can't change bodies if she doesn't die? But there's nothing stopping her from killing herself deliberately to escape, unless one of the fine details of her power stops that. Frankly I'm not sure we can win this without going all out, we're a lot weaker than we used to be.

Also, fuck. I'm beginning to think there was never any chance of Yuri having a good ending. I don't think we made any mistakes with her and in fact I feel like capturing her was a bit of a coup on our part, but she's still headed downhill.

We only managed to land hits when we used our powers, we might win in hand to hand, but the degradation will likely be hastened anyways by the damage we would take.

Yeah, not much of a choice here.

I wouldn't say that. I have on several occasions been under the impression that this thread acted like a schizophrenic moron (Not necessarily on all occasions with Yuri, but I think some of these votes may have impacted her at different points). No one needs to point any fingers, but that's just the nature of questing sometimes. A number of character events and fights could probably have been resolved differently, though of course those different resolutions would likely have their own downsides.

I'm certain that the situation in general would always end up this bad, but it would have probably involved different people taking the various roles as it all spiraled into a pit of angst. Because PMMM, at its core, is about everything turning out worse when socially maladjusted and traumatized people make poor decisions and fail to communicate, then ending when the full scope of human effort and heroism scrapes out a bitterly melancholic equilibrium until the next sequel.

I mean... there have been a few truly stupid decisions (the one that pops out at me is when the thread apparently decided yelling at Kasumi when she was trying to be friendly was a good idea; was still reading just the threadmarks so I don't know any names and wouldn't point them out if I did), but I don't remember anything involving Yuri getting captured that was particularly stupid, and I don't remember any decisions after her capture that would have resulted in an earlier rescue/seamless rescue. If you do, I really would appreciate you pointing them out. It's one thing to know that you could have done something if you'd played it differently, it's another to feel like you never really had a choice in the matter to begin with.

The Envoy struck with ferocious speed. She punched straight for you, prompting you to block her blow. The impact rattled through your body as you braced yourself for the next one. Blocking and weaving through her strikes, you shoved her to the side to jump and deliver a kick as you swung your leg at her. You missed as she dashed back before you palmed the ground to spin your legs to keep her at bay.

Rising up, you held up your fists as you charged at one another at the same time. Kicking up water, you tried swinging your leg at her as she ducked beneath your blow. Rising up, she delivered a flurry of punches which you narrowly defended against before she launched her snakes at you. You burned them as they came before the Envoy jumped to kick you twice.

She raised her leg as you got ready to weave alongside it, flipping to kick her as she flipped as well, creating an arc of droplets as she moved. She rushed to a railing before hopping on it and kicking off. She jumped towards you with her arm drawn back as you did the same in meeting her.

Your heads collided as you looked into her eyes before you both shoved each other away.

You both swung your fists which collided together at the same time. You both exchanged blows, catching your fists in every swing before you ended up staggering away from one another. The Envoy swung her leg before you before following it up with a hard kick once more, forcing you to the side before she fixed her footing and jumped to kick down your guard.

This opened you for her palm strike which you met with your elbow. Your fist narrowly missed her jaw with your uppercut before she used your open guard to swing her own elbow. She landed a hit on your ribs before she swept you off your feet and kicked you across the floor. Your back hit the railings before you could break through it.

Rising up, the Envoy waited for you to get back on your feet.

The rain continued to fall as you moved in.

"You're not impressing anyone. It's a surprise you made it this far," the Envoy said as she blocked your blows and weaved beneath a spray of rainbow fire. Snakes flew from her hands as you charred them before they hit you.

You jumped to perform a tornado kick which lit up the rooftop as she dodged. You moved in and switched your style from straight forward attacks to wide movements. Jumping, you swept the air with your leg and forced the Envoy back. Swinging your arms at her reduced her strike zone before she used an opening to move in.

Seeing that, you caught her by the wrist and pulled her in. You let out a breath before you performed a Tiger Drop which landed square on the Envoy's chest. Blood left her lips as she hit her back against the rail. You moved in to deliver a kick across her face before flourishing your hand before you to create a wall of fire.

She hesitated as you punched through the flames to land three hits to her gut. Striking her jaw with your elbow, she recoiled before you stepped on her stomach to perform an axe kick right down her skull. Her eyes shined as she delivered a hook to your knee before driving her fist against your hastily put block.

Sliding back you gasped for breath as you felt your organs heal. She ruptured them..?

Looking up, the Envoy flipped as she delivered tornado kick right on your head, barely giving you time to roll away. You batted aside her punch as she delivered sharp, consecutive blows before you knocked her hand down. Raising your leg, you smashed it against her side, only for the Envoy to catch it. Grabbing your head, she smashed it against her knee before she tripped you over, leaving you to fall.

Moving your gravity, your foot ignited with rainbow fire as you smashed against the side of her face and force her to stagger. You hit the ground and stumbled to your feet as she spat blood from her mouth. Her eyes lost their mirth as she grit her teeth and dashed towards you. She punched twice as you blocked and parried her blows.

Raising your knee, she palmed it down to stun you. You were on your knee as she went for a big wind up punch, leaving her open for you to tackle her waist. You were pushing her across the rooftop before she lifted up up and threw you off it.

"Tatyana!" you cried out as Gravity took hold of your body and slung you back into the rooftop.

You fell with a flying kick as the Envoy jumped over you. You slid past her as you clenched your fist as she had her back turned to you. Lightning flashed as she had a look of soulless murder in her eyes before taking a more sophisticated kenpo stance. She moved, the rain splitting away from her as she drove her fist at you.

Jumping back, you hopped on a railing and jumped over her. Somersaulting and grabbing her by the shoulder where you swung down to knee the center of her spine. You fell to your rear as she hit the railings by the waist. You swept your hand on the ground to unleash fire before her feet, forcing her to jump high before you shot up with the force of a bullet as she met your strike with her elbow.

You both exchanged blows in the air before you set yourself on fire. Your body crackled before you both locked limbs and fell down. You both fell straight through the rooftop's floor and crashed into the level beneath it. Lightning streaked across the sky before a foot kicked you on your gut, slamming your back against a wall.

You were inside the building now, the rain coming on from the hole you and the Envoy made. You got up from being kicked into paste before you blocked a backhand and lower strike. The Envoy flipped and smashed the wall to your left as she kicked it before you performed a Tiger Drop counter into her stomach.

You elbowed her across her face before grabbing her head and smashing it against the wall. You ducked and struck her right in her abdomen once more before grabbing her shoulder to smash your knee into her face. You then raised your leg to kick her by the jaw and slam her into the wall again. Weaving beneath her next strike, you locked with her outstretched arm and just threw her into the ground.

Lifting up your fist, you drove it into her face before she locked her arm around yours and shifted your weight to drag you into the floor too. She rolled away as you did the same before you fired a stream of flames her way. She smiled as she kicked up the water gathered around her feet and formed a wall from the splash.

Steam erupted between you two before she hooked her arm around your neck and hammered you through two walls until the two of you reached a suite. You hit the ground in a roll before you lashed out with your flames. The Envoy moved away as your strike hit the curtains, setting them aflame. Orange fire was born from your rainbow ones.

"You're not leaving this place alive, GriefBorne," the Envoy sang as her lips split into a grin, "I'm immortal. I'm never going down. And while I get back over and over again, you'll just get tired."

You grit your teeth as your body burned from the poison that stuck with you. You fell down your knees as you held your chest. It was taking some time to take out the toxins from your system.

"I'll wear you down until you can't stand anymore," the Envoy murmured as she slowly walked towards you, "Even if I can't get the Blue Queen's body, I can still get yours. Just a little bit of fixing here and there and you'll be a good consolation prize."

"I'd like to see you try," you dared as you got up your feet.

The Envoy's burns started to heal as she held up her fists, "Better hurry though. Or something's going to happen to the little lass downstairs."

"What did you do?" you growled in a dark tone. The rain and fire filled the suite you were both standing in as you hesitated. What did she do? She was one of the girls handling Yuri's vitals down below.

The Snake's lips curled into a cruel smile as she relished in the look on your face, "Tick tock, GriefBorne. Tick tock..."

Moving close, you raised your leg to swing across her face. The Envoy chose to duck beneath your kick as you moved to drive a punch into her face.

BOOM

You blinked as the Envoy took the punch as her lower lip dripped a droplet of blood. She had that cruel smile on her face as her reptilian eyes met your crimson ones. She didn't even looked fazed as beneath your fist, scales formed as if they were armor to protect her. It didn't protect her fully but it was enough for her to take the direct hit.

"Cute," she breathed as she continued to smile.
