We cant afford to lose ace pilots when we're already outnumbered in terms of mechas, nor can we have the Rose get too damaged else we'll be a sitting duck. Hopefully we'll do enough damage that some lost civilians wont prevent our nation from surviving.

I assume this means things like command ships, carrier types. Etc. The kind of things that really impact their ability of fight effectively on the large scale.

[X] The Rose is severely damaged

I am soooo tempted to try and sacrifice a loved one. But this feels like tradition at this point, and I like that. I may switch later.

It would perhaps be a touch poetic, if after all the worries, it's Amani that dies instead of Gloriana.

All I'm saying is that every time the Rose has taken a beating the primary objective of the day has been achieved, the Rose not taking a beating now would be bad luck.

I love-hate this quest and it's votes. It's very well written, the characters are human and 3-dimensional, and the plot is gripping, but the choosing how we get screwed thing is excruciating.

Rail-shot in an enemy commander's face please!

The villians are dicks. Let's not shy away from that.

I'd prefer a stretched enemy fleet, but plan voting is plan voting, and bandwagons are forever.

And besides: Can we really call this a proper space opera if the Enterprise Titanium Rose doesn't get smashed to bits and hit with an absurd amount of torpedoes, only to somehow continue being plot relevant until the end of the battle?

We just had the update stress how hectic the fight is for everybody at the sharp end due to just how clogged with enemies the battlespace is. They could use some breathing room. Shame it means bombers slipped past to Titan...

Hmm, interesting quest. I probably won't be an active contributor, nor vote most often, but I've read through the quest thus far and like it and received some inspiration. Plus, if this was a show, I'd hold off on having Rose get torn up till the end, and I think the quest's reached the point most of the characters are simply too important to kill off, liked too much to kill off, or not important enough to produce a shock. And while the civilians being killed helps further emphasize which side the dark grey in this light grey v.s. dark grey conflict (I hesitate to say grey v.s. grey because one side is obviously much better than the other. Hmm. Maybe grey v.s. dark grey?), I don't think it makes sense. There's a fleet in the way! So, if it's a show, let's deal with the fleet first.

[X] The Inner Fleet's surviving leadership is abruptly and suddenly killed all at once, including the loss of Sikes' counterpart, causing a total breakdown in organization (but not a rout... yet).
@Gazetteer, one, interesting quest you've got! Two, is out off the box thinking being accepted?
(Also the post ended up way longer than I intended.)

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

I can't possibly decide on these options. Every single chapter gets me so keyed up emotionally I really have to specifically set aside time to read them because if I'm not prepared emotionally I'll be a wreck. I wish I could get my friends to read this.
