Perchance to Dream (Mass Effect / Commander)

Strangely enough he keeps calling it Dahak. Oh well no accounting for taste.
<in the dream's background, someone does a quick search and assimilates information - 'interesting concept, now, this could be improved on with fractal construction to allow for more surface area and hence more weapon emplacements ...'>

Dahak is a spherical warship that's been pretending to be the moon for the last fifty thousand years. 3,320 kilometers in diameter, while the actual moon is 3,475 km. The difference is moon rock saved for camouflage. Dahak can reach 52.4% of light speed, carries enough dakka to vaporize Earth in short order.
It also carries eighty thousand ton parasite warships and two man fighters, just to be thorough. The Death Star has inadequacy issues.

You forgot to mention that this is the outdated version of warship ...

"You've got not problem with the treaty of Farixen then?"
"No. The treaty of Farixen stipulates maximum numbers on dreadnaughts, a dreadnaught being defined via the minimum output of its mass driver spinal mount. We do not use mass drivers, they are to inefficient."
"That ... isn't what the treaty is about. The treaty aims to avoid a meaningless arms race."
"Are you kidding me? I we wanted we could create one of your dreadnaughts for each human currently living within 13 months. The treaty of Farixen has no meaning when it comes to humanity."
More to the point, I don't think humans have a unified fleet, per se or even a unified design aesthetic and the design, functions, and capabilities of their ships vary wildly, to say the least.

I mean, anyone with a (possibly metaphorical) bug up their (possibly metaphorical) ass for spaceships can build anything they can feasibly design in relatively short order should they so choose.

A large gathering of human built ships may very well end up looking like a cross between a custom drag race expo and a monster truck show, except with spaceships in space.

I'm sure they are working on and building stuff for fighting the Reapers, but in the day to day human starships probably have a less unified and coherent theme than Immortan Joe's fleet of vehicles.

forget ships, I can see some turians getting bugeyed when they see a human flying circles around their fleet on a surfboard wearing nothing but khaki trousers, Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses, firing anti-matter particle beams from his fingerguns.
once a reaper shows up I expect someone to go full on Spiral Kamina and punt the squid out of the universe.

I just started wondering how mutable human forms are. If I understand/remember correctly, humans can occupy or not occupy a physical form basically at will. They also can effectively make matter wholesale. It seems a short step from that into inhabiting non-human forms. Given that, I wonder how many people are living as dragons right now just because they can.

You know what they say: Always be yourself, unless you can be a dragon, if you can be a dragon, then always be a dragon.

Some fantasy dragons can polymorph to humanoid forms when convenient, so maybe every "human" met by various others is actually just a dragon in disguise?

If you want to believe the conspiracy theorists, our "flat earth" is being ruled by "lizard people". Close enough?
If I want to believe in what people say, I can start believing in literally more than I can imagine. The Flying Spaghetti monster being a trick of Cthulhu to awaken the Great Old Ones one of the saner ones ...

Of course, we all know FSM is manipulating Cthulhu into waking the Great Old Ones for his own noodly reasons, and they'll just end up as food for the true eldritch abomination.

Barney the Dinosaur.:o

Barney is clearly a fabrication, a false lead used to dupe the mentally challenged. That's clearly obvious as any idiot can see.
They have you fooled too. Any idiot can see through the first layer to the 'fake' layer, yes. Non-idiots pierce through that and witness the true horror of the reality of Barney.

But that's just the window dressing they use to confirm you it's the real thing! Idiots, everywhere idiots!
