There is an interaction, yes. To get the best materials you need Resources + Essence, but there are different ways to go about that. Maybe you find the raw ores in naturally high essence areas, maybe you take base ores and process them in a high essence reactor. Maybe a place has lots of exotic materials but you can't usefully access them because they are bound up in something you can't work with (High Essence, Low Resources).
So Essence can be transported around, through the mundane resource types that carry it (ores, animal parts, flora) and subsequently purified out for use in infusing other types of resources? Can animals (or, equally of import, their graftable parts) be infused with essence to get the more exotic or powerful varieties, or is the 'freaky magicness' of our local fauna and flora unchanging regardless of how we develop an area, requiring travel to weirder sites to get access to the good critters?

Don't think that the starting enhancement tech will pigeonhole all development, all of them interact with each other. So while venturing out to find new things is an element, you can develop skills to boost already existing resources.

I have noticed that things are a bit of a mess. Somewhat fortunately I was going to incorporate the messiness in anyway, and it looks like the Titan's Bones has a comfortable lead at the moment.

Switching to plan Xenosynergy.

Let's see if the RNG can't resolve this simply:

1-20 Minor Tech
21-30 Alchemy
31-40 Artifice
41-50 Beast Binding
51-60 Geomancy
61-70 Patron Spirit
71-80 Xenografting
81-98 Major Tech
99 Adaptation Tech
100 Elder Tech
Academia Nut threw 1 100-faced dice. Total: 63
63 63

I will see how things go, but no, you would not be riding giant maggots. There's a lot of poetic language going on here.
...You are being way too shifty about the poetic language AN and we know you like your tech.

The God Bones are massive spaceships, calling it now. The Stillborn dreams are the automatic processes still connected to the dying reactor

No, but also not no precisely... :drevil:

Also, going to pull out a QM override that I hope will make people happier. Winning result is:

[X] [Terr] Scavengers of the Titans' Bones
[X] [Tech] Beast Binding
[X] [Cha] Ferocious Beasts
[X] [Adv] Essence Spring (+Essence, +Food)

I am going with Beast Binding because the random tech is Patron Spirit, which lets me do things that should help make everyone happy.

At least we start within corpse of dead gods. Shame we aren't doing any dead god flesh upgrades right now, but hey beasts born of God flesh have a nice ring.

We should be more worried about our organization, otherwise entrenched families with powerful beasts will run our polity down the line.

Maybe just keep the stats loose, we don't need a second run of the ivory tower min/max.
