One Punch Man - The Anime

ワンパンマン

Guess what just updated.

(Metal Bat's pissed off because the household cat's giving birth today and he has to run out and deal with this shit instead of being with his family)
I guess Sonic's reputation just went down the shitter.

Sonic just got shit on again.

Sonic should watch where he's going. Otherwise he won't know what shit would come this way.

Sonic was trying to do his duty. Unfortunately, doody got in the way of him.

Just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. Sadly for Sonic he stepped on the ones that fell.

Regarding the latest chapter...

If you want to know the gist of it, it's on the previous thread

A rank 34 hero Feather came to fight the gang Iron Fists alone, as they have his girlfriend Erika as hostage.
But as they beat the hero up, the gang reveal that the girl was in fact their boss' bitch and she was playing him all along to lure him into this trap.
Erika laughs at him telling him he's so gullible to be fooled by her terrible acting.

But as she turns away there's tears in her eyes and Feather tells her her acting is terrible indeed.
Big Iron, the boss of the gang shows up just then, and Feather tells Erika to peel her eyes open as he will no longer need to hold back his power as there is no hostage, and that this will be his climax scene as a hero.

But just as almost finishes his sentence Saitama crash through the wall and falls on him.

Erika and the gang spots Tatsumaki and thinks Feather lied to them about coming alone.
Big Iron yells at his men that even an S-class can't do shit alone, and not to be afraid of her.
Saitama tries to tell him to calm down but Big Iron punches Saitama telling that "Stay out of this weakling!"

Saitama of course blows him the fuck away replying "that would be you."
Tatsumaki proceeds to trash the rest of the gang, and the two leaves.

Feather is left there with Erika who seems to be engulfed with awe at Tatsumaki for freeing her from her position as the gang's bitch.
Feather realizes his attempt at heroism has failed and now just wants to go home and forget everything.

As for the Metal Bat part it's self explanatory.
Only thing to really note is that Tama, his house cat, is having babies today but he is the only available S-rank that can head to H.
He wanted to take out his frustration on the monster, but it was killed by getting caught in Saitama and Tats fight.

Metal Bat tells himself "Calm down... don't do it... Just take a deep breath man, Tama is waiting for you at home... "

And the stuff with Sonic is also self-explanatory.

Man, the anime is everything I wanted out of an OPM anime. And then some.

I look forward to the Boros fight so much now.

Obviously he's not a patch on Murata Yusuke, but watching ONE's art improve has been genuinely cool.

The last few chapters of the webcomic feature some comparatively well-executed art, and he's gotten much better at composing compelling action scenes.

On a plot related note, Tatsumaki is a colossal ass.

e: for spelling

Also I can't help but wonder if anyone's going to start putting the pieces together. By now the S-Class heroes should have been properly and exhaustively debriefed, but the HA doesn't strike me as the most thorough of institutions...

HOLY SHIT, that fight... that punch... that's even BETTER than the Manga!

On another note, the laser-teleport charging is taken out. But I guess it's a good directorial decision, especially given that they're running the visuals for the fight mostly in realtime with brief moments of slow-mo (mainly, I believe, to show the audience just how fast paced most of the action is).

If they did it the same as the Manga, even in slow-mo all you'd see is a beam, and suddenly two guys are punching each other beside it... and because it's in slow-mo the depiction of that set of punches will lose a lot of their power.

That, and there's more action set-pieces overall in the anime fight than in the manga's.

I'm so going to watch this again. brb.

For what it's worth, the anime fight was actually a scene-for-scene adaptation from the manga fight in the printed volume - Murata made some changes to several scenes in that compared to his online re-draws, which was where we had the infamous panel-to-panel beam charge.

New episode's up on Daisuki.

Whoever your best girl is, she makes her debut in this episode.

Highlight of the episode: Analyst Girl from the Heroes' Association who appeared back in ep 1 walking into a room with a smile on her face and talking down a raging Tatsumaki, not giving a single fuck the entire time.

Analyst Girl is Blast confirmed.

Great episode.
Now you guys know that Saitama can bite through a solid steel sword.
Which travels supersonic.
Sonic couldn't even see it happening.

How's that for OP?

I know we've got seven episodes left, but with the current pacing I do hope we get to Boros by cour's end.

Also Fubuki getting BTFO during the next episode preview was priceless.

edit: Also also I kind of miffed that we won't see the whole monster association thing pay off this season. Ah well. If the BDs sell well then maybe another cour gets greenlit.

They're doing the entire meteor arc next episode - the teaser screencaps on the official website have Tank Top Black Hole in them.

That leaves us 2 eps for the Sea King and 3 eps for Boros, IMO.

Did Saitama really use a monster as food? That's kinda funny. The fact all the other heroes are now mistaking Saitama for said monster, considerably more funny.

Are Saitama and Genos aware they live in a ghost town?
