One Punch Man - The Anime

Episode 5 is on Daisuki.

And... well... just watch it. My mind is too blown to post a proper review. The fight was that fucking good.

Just watched it. Personally, the fight could have used a scene or two more, but I loved it nevertheless.
It really shows how unfair Saitama is compared to other characters.

Am I the only one who feels the credits sequence of the anime is a bit foreboding? Like the stills of the empty city and overgrown areas are a bit ominous considering the sort of place OPM's universe is.

Nah its because Saitama and Genos are basically the only people still living in Z-City. As we'll find out next episode, really. The place is just abandoned.

Makes you wonder what's the nearest city Saitama has to travel whenever a sale pops up.

He probably travels directly to whatever store has the cheapest sale, no matter where it is. It's not like distance is a significant issue for him.

If you advertised some ultra bargain sale, but you had to go to the Moon to get there, Saitama would just jump there.

It's never explicitly stated, but I kinda get the feeling that the world has been wrecked in the OPM-verse. Little things like only the one new city that the totally-not-evil Metal Knight built, the jump in threat level from Dragon to God ("multiple cities being destroyed" to "humanity ending" threat), and the constant attacks from monsters.

The good:
Genos' sleeveless popped polo. The ultimate bro cyborg
They kept his hoodie!
The new content in the Udon chapter definitely expanded the characterization well!

The bad
If only Genos' shirt was pink...

It's only been three years since the monsters started kicking off. Not enough time for proper damage to set in fully yet, but we see it happening gradually with City Z over the course of the series.

You know things are in the shit when they don't even bother naming cities, as if they expect them to be demolished the day after.

Monsters apparently have been gradually rising over the past 10 years into dangerous levels. Z city is well known for having insane amounts of strong beings. At the current point of the story people have moved into the inner parts of Z city, leaving the outskirts where Saitama lives abandoned. Pretty sure it gets more abandoned as the A class heroes get beat by the random mysterious being and the meteor.

Was quite an impressive battle between Saitama and Genos, showing how good Saitama was just at dodging, not to mentioning making a crater on par with Genos's strongest move from a shockwave alone!

Found it amusing Saitama got ranked C due to terrible written scores, by the way. Along with how bored he looked sitting in the class as Snek lectured them.

I think that's actually common in anime when they don't want to use real places. But while most anime only have a couple A-Cities or B-Countries, Onepunch-man takes it a step further and makes everything a letter.

Saitama's oppai sweater had me laughing my ass off for 5 minutes.
I noticed that! Did a double take when I realized what it said, and am quite surprised one could go about wearing that in public with no shame whatsoever.

Why was Saitama in just undies for his physical abilities testing?
