Krat, what was once known as the most technologically advanced city in the world has gone into ruins, and you, Lorenzi Vegnini genius philanthropist and the most handsome man in Krat, have just managed to survive the carnage of the Puppet Frenzy and the Stoneskin Plague.
You thought that you had just managed to make it out of the nightmare, only for the entire city to be enveloped into pure darkness. Now, you have arrived to some place that does not look like the world you knew.
There are horrors out there in the world, Villains that have fought and won to rule their land like Tyrants. And now, here you are, in a torn apart city, beyond the brink of collapse. With yourself, and the survivors of no less than three tragedies.
You liked your odds. Even if you screamed into your pillow at night.
james was optimistic for the first time in a while.
Him and his crew of pirates had fallen upon hard times recently what with all the chaos that had engulfed the world making the seas a very dangerous place.
But then he had heard tales of a city on the coast full of riches and plunder full of harmless puppet people.
So he , his crew , and his ship "Maria's revenge" had set out to conduct a raid upon this city.
Their journey had taken them into a fog bank and their ship slowly drifted through.
He coughed and swore he couldn't see a damm thing in this fog.
"NAVIGATOR!"
"Yes Cap'n?"
"GET US OUT OF THIS BLASTED FOG!"
"I'm trying Cap'n but I.. " he was cut off aa a loud mettalic groan echoed out around them.
"What the bloody hell was that?"
Suddenly a massive shape rose out of the water on the port side its metal body glistening in the dim light.
it raised two massive arms with balls on the end above its head.
"OH SHIT"
CRASHHHHHHHHHHHHH
the arms came down on the middle of the ship and with a great sound the ship was broken in two.
Wood splinters rigging anything that wasn't secure to the deck went flying everywhere killing multiple crew members.
James didn't see much if that though cause the mast came down directly on top of him.
As the broken wreckage of the ship and the drowning pirates slowly sunk into the waves the metal giant turned around and disappeared into the fog
Waiting for the next threat to its home.
Well that's that done
I was struck by a sudden burst of inspiration and had to write it down
Hope you guys enjoy this possible future use
Olympus is yours. Lythos, Hydros, Stratos, Pyros, and Arges, the Titans. Have accomplished their one job, revenge. Last time Zeus singled them out one by one from a distance before locking them away. This time the Titans came in together working in concert. Lythos had the earth control, Hydros the ice, Stratos the air, Puros the lava, and Arges. Well Arges would have delivered the final blow on Zeus, but you sent him away. Now they wander Greece unrestrained while you rest on Zeus's prison at Olympus, your new throne.
A new age has dawned.
Hercules is not your problem.
The gods are in chains.
You are feeling pretty good.
And, oh yeah, the world shifted. You felt it. Greece was it's normal self then it shifted into a different place, along with yourself. Still part of a world. Any Gods or Titans that were in Greece at the time would have shifted too,.
The Lord of the Dead has won. What now Hades?
Diplomacy: Pain and Panic are your diplomatic advisors. Not the brightest or the bravest duo. They are diligent and do the work required. (Choose 1)
One Last Chance: The Olympians are in chains under your rule. Zeus is locked up. You now have time to make one last offer to the rest of the Olympians to join your side. Now that they have experienced what the rest of their existence can be like. However, they did laugh at you... [This option will not be available next turn] Reward: A God/Goddess of Olympus joins you. Chance of Success: 75%/50%/25%/10%/5%/2%
Rolled 62 = Tier 4 divines, with Hades's diplomacy of 20 divide by 4 (Cause Tier 4) = 5d11, Results = 1 (All in Tier 5), 2 (Aurora), 11 (Artemis), 11 (Artemis), 7 (Nike)
Tier 1 - All in Tier 5, All in Tier 4, All in Tier 3, All in Tier 2, Zeus, Hera, Hermes, Thalia, Rhea (Titan), Demeter, Morpheus
Tier 2 - All in Tier 5, All in Tier 4, All in Tier 3. Athena, Ares, Apollo, Mnemosyne (Titan), Triton, Circe, Calliope, Terpsichore, Boreas
Tier 3- All in Tier 5, All in Tier 4, Persephone, Helios (Titan), Hephaestus, Dionysus, Aphrodite, Trivia, Melpomene, Otus (demigod), Cupid, Iris
Tier 4 - All in Tier 5, Aurora (Titan), Poseidon, Hestia, Amphitrite, Phantasos, Nike, Narcissus, Clio, Nemesis (demigoddes), Artemis
Tier 5 - Lachesis, Clotho, Atropos, Charon (demigod), Fear (demigod), Terror (demigod), Hecate (demigoddess), Antaeus (Half olympian, half-Titan)
Now this was a surprise, or maybe not. News of your win would of course be known by others, among these others would be those wanting to get in on the ground floor to benefit from the new order. The Fates, Lachesis, Clotho, and Atropos came by to congratulate you on your victory. Charon renewed his service to you. Hecate, Fear and Terror, demigods, and a demigoddess swore oaths of loyalty and to serve you. A son of Poseidon and Gaea named Antaeus swore to work under you.
Then there were the others, the oddities. The ones who were at Olympus when you took over and chose to work for you now that you have offered this last chance to join you. Aurora, Titan of the dawn. Artemis, goddess of nature and the hunt. Nike, goddess of victory.
Nike joined you because you won. Aurora was partying with the rest and isn't a Olympian, but joins you for the thrill of something new even if that something new is dark clouds and rain.
Artemis, is the true surprise. Joining you completely, once she was free of her chains. She took charge over your affairs. Going all in as a advisor to you. Not that much difference from when she was on Zeus's council, only now she thinks she has more freedom to be more aggressive on the mortals, and for the protection of nature in general. You didn't know she was a opportunist like that, you are shocked at such a realist. Maybe if you had talked to the others more... you wouldn't be alone.
It's not all good things. The rest of the olympians refused your offer. Along with the few Titans that didn't join you in Rhea, Mnemosyne, and Helios. They're Titans, so you released them, but they're free now. There are other Titans out there in Greece, such as Typhon, Echidna, Gaea, Promethus, Briares, and Atlas. If any of them were to feel like rebelling....
Reward: Artemis joins you as a advisor. Now have access to assign Lachesis, Clotho, Atropos, Charon, Fear, Terror, Hecate, Antaeus, Aurora, and Nike, to actions.
Martial: Secure your authority : You have won. There's no doubt about that. However, before you can utilize your prisoners. Remind them you are in chage now. Reward: Can use some of the chained Olympians on one action of your choice for a +20 bonus each turn. Chance of Success: 75%/50%
- Required: 35/50/ Rolled: 71
It's done, the Chained Olympians work for you now. Only Zeus, Hera, Hermes, and Thalia won't. No matter what you do. That's fine.
Reward: Can use Athena, Ares, Apollo, Triton, Circe, Calliope, Terpsichore, Boreas, Persephone, Hephaestus, Dionysus, Aphrodite, Trivia, Melpomene, Cupid, Iris, Poseidon, Hestia, Amphitrite, Phantasos, Nike, Narcissus, and Clio of the Chained Olympians on one action of your choice for a +20 bonus each turn.
Stewardship: Playpen for Titans : Titans are untiring massive creatures of primordial force. Even the humanoid ones are incredibly powerful, such as Prometheus. Five Titans follow your orders. You could assign a Titan for specific areas to roam when you don't want them to do anything damaging. Reward: The Titans activities are guided. Chance of Success: 90%/75%/50%
- Required: 10/35/50. Rolled: 56
With Artemis's aid you set up a track for Lythos, Hydros, Stratos, Pyros, and Arges to wander around the land borders of Greece. According to Artemis the set-up will work as a nature cycle so long as the titans stick to the pattern. The Titans seem to be accepting of it. They get to cause destruction, and you get no headaches from mortal screaming.
Learning: What did you feel? : When you won, you felt the world shift. Maybe it was caused by you taking over, maybe it was something else. Maybe it was a reality shift. Maybe it was a time traveller. Maybe you can find out? Reward: You learn. Chance of Success: 75%/50%/25%/10%/5%/2%
- Required: 35/50/75/90/95/98. Rolled: 94
Greece is no longer on the same world. The stars have shifted, and there's a lot more out there that can give you a fight.
To be Continued in "Interlude: The World Beyond Your Borders"
Intrigue: The Wider World : When you won, you felt the world shift. As if what was once clear clean water had been drowned in rock and oil. You can try and set something up by yourself to read the events of the world. Instead of getting someone else to do it for you. Reward: Unlock the Rumor Mill. Chance of Success: 75%
- Required: 35. Rolled: 62
When a god appears in front of a mortal, sometimes the god gets lucky.
Reward: The Rumor Mill is Unlocked.
Occult: Grow the Cult of Hades: Temples! You need more temples built for yourself across Greece. Merely tell the mortals and they will build is the saying, right? Reward: Establish the Cult of Hades. Chance of Success: 75%/50%/25%/10%/5%
- Required: 35/50/75/90/95. Rolled: 97
These are some really nice temples.
Reward: Temples of Hades are spread across all of Greece within the turn. Hades gets a combat buff from the faith provided.
Note: Perspehone actually was in DIsney's Hercules film, did not know that.
Okay, so. If a Hades quest ever actually existed. Hades is working from pretty much nothing. He only had himself, the Titans in the film, Pain, and Panic, to take over Olympus. Getting more characters is important for a Hades quest for any bonuses possible, and there's a lot of characters Hades could recruit or should be on his side after he took over. Also, Hades won't be giving bonuses to actions on his own quite yet because he is on his own and trying to do everything. Those bonuses are being used to keep him from getting overworked.
Not my best work, but I wanted to throw something together.
Esmerelda looked out at the camp in sadness and regret. How did it all come to this? What could she have done differently to prevent this outcome? Was this God's plan for them? No, she couldn't let herself think like that. With a shake of her head, she went back to trying to make sure everyone was as warm as possible. Blankets, campfires, treating the wounded, soothing the dieing. It all took resources, resources the refugees simply didn't have.
Cast out into this dark new world, hungry and alone. Ironic, seeing as they had to flee the flames consuming France, both literally and figuratively. The heat of damnation nipping at their heels as the cold of nature threatened to steal them away as they slept.
The people were losing hope, she could tell. It's hard not to feel abandoned by God when a man declaring himself pope wanted to watch you burn on the pyre. Wanted to take you personally to-
Esmerelda settled a half burned preacher with her own shawl as his pillow. He sided with them against the madness, helped the unjustly prosecuted to flee. He likely wouldn't last the night. The Roma woman, the Gypsy, walked through the people. Djali following faithfully in her wake as always. Clasping her hands together she felt more alone in this moment than she ever had before, yet still she opened her mouth and began to sing accompaniment to her nearly solitary procession.
Darkness falls, and Hope has hid Hear my prayer, and let dawn come
This path is long, and the way is unclear
I pray to you Let mercy come
Soon another voice picked up the song in her heart, causing Esmerelda's eyes to widen as more and more voices joined together in the night. Their cacophony raising together in a rapturous choir, as if the surrounding mountains, hills, and trees themselves were their cathedral.
We are lost, and home is gone We keep you in our hearts, for we know dawn will come
Hear our prayer, so we aren't alone
We pray to you Let mercy come
More and more people stepped up until all that could raise their voices to the heavens were doing so. The non believers just as loud as the faithful, the children as solemn as the elderly.
God we are outcasts, yet we look to you still We'll keep our faith, and hold it high
Though different people may seem, there's one father shared by all
We pray as one Let mercy come
Maybe it was happenstance, maybe it was fate, or maybe it was God himself. In that moment of combined prayer every refugee was looking in Esmerelda's direction at the head of the encampment. They all saw in the same moment that the last words echoed out into the air, the horizon behind the one that started the hymn lit up like a blue dawn in the distance. Silhouetting the performer and her goat alike as if they were divine messengers.
The people one by one, in a wave, began to kneel and prostrate themselves. Were they showing deference to Esmerelda, or to the holy light? Both?
"Look!"
"The sky!"
"Is it dawn already?"
"It's like a star on Earth!"
"It's a sign!"
"Mercy!"
"God gave her a sign!"
"Is she an angel!?"
"A shepherd! She has a lamb!"
"That's a goat you old fool!"
And as Esmerelda turned in shock, the embers of hope reigniting in her soul, she knew they were not abandoned. God sent them a sign. They would head towards the light, and find their salvation. Whether it was passage into Heaven's Gates or a haven against the evil chasing them it mattered not.
Hope could burn a person alive just as much as any stake.
And so the camp broke and set off into the night immediately, led by a single woman as unanimous decree. They followed the light as it burned for hours.
Eventually they found a great city with walls and machines, sitting by the water.
Only time would tell if it was the miracle it appeared to be.
I used this song as inspiration. Hopefully this isn't terrible!
Yep, the reason they found Krat was because we lit it up like a Christmas tree, and in a suitably Disney fashion no less!
Shadows fall, and hope has fled
Steel your heart, the dawn will come
The night is long, and the path is dark
Look to the sky, for one day soon
The dawn will come
The shepherd's lost, and his home is far
Keep to the stars, the dawn will come
The night is long, and the path is dark
Look to the sky, for one day soon
The dawn will come
Bare your blade, and raise it high
Stand your ground, the dawn will come
The night is long, and the path is dark
Look to the sky, for one day soon The dawn will come
