The annoying guy is not just teammate material, but our probable team leader. Penny and Eli really don't fit the role, and Cyan is only marginally better. Also, I don't think we would want to be in a constant spotlight like that.

I wonder what the pale guy's name is, then. If his name starts with an 'R', we may end up as the leader of team CREP, read as crap, if an 'A', we may find ourselves on team APEC, read as apes. Well, (a bit) more seriously, Creep and Apex would be quite descriptive of our team.

I rather Have Jaune be our leader than pale-ass. although I don't mind chatting with him.

team BASE(Base) = Blake Jaune, Ciana, Elizabeth (Blake+Jaune/Ciana+Elizabeth)
team RWYN(Rain?) = Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Nora (Ruby+Nora/Yang+Weiss)
team PREP(Prep) = pale-ass, Pyrrha, ren, penny (Pyrrha+Penny/Ren+pale-ass(Edward?))

like damn coming up with team names is hard as hell. making unique ones is also hard since obviously Ruby, Jaune, and Pale-ass are the leader material.

Like Caina has a choice unless he wants to end up in serious shit with Oz for killing his leader. he'll have to deal with it. plus would be funny to see caina and Eli throw him through the ringer if he ask for training. although theres blake he could ask meh. plus he doesn't know how strong penny is and they get along fine. he hasn't interacted with jaune yet.

Why don't people want Ruby in a RWBY quest? :(

On the pale guy: our protagonist is both annoyed and impressed with him. With that combination of irritation and interest, it is very likely Cyan will be itching for a fight as the blood knight that he is, especially when the sentiments are so fresh. I get that people want to get acquainted with all the new faces, but now is not a good time. Can we wait on him until morning to avoid unnecessary vitriol, at least?

Because Ruby herself is not interesting at all if you look beyond the puppy eyes and general adorableness :p

Honestly, that's mostly the fault of the show not doing its job properly. If you want a better look at her character you actually have to go digging through the soundtracks.
