I am curious what Nanoha's hidden reaction was, and/or how correct Taylor's view of it was. Is Nanoha doubting the answer? Is she wondering about what happened to Taylor that she'd run from the police officer she ran into? I wonder what's going through her head, and what she's getting out of this..

Her view wasn't entirely correct - there was more disappointment than doubt.

This wasn't necessarily a secret psych evaluation on the TSAB's end per se but in general Nanoha and company did set out to get a better handle on who Taylor is as a person. Needless to say, they all realize Taylor needs active support at this point, if they also realize that forcing her to sit for a full psych eval likely wouldn't go over well. If Taylor had proven to be a more stable individual who didn't need this kind of treatment she likely would've gotten the option to live on her own, if Taylor had proved less evasive, they might have tried to push her into an actual therapy arrangement (although really they still would've probably gone with the best therapist on the TSAB payroll, Nanoha).

I also kinda want to see Mariposa go "maintence? Why?" and actually be confused about it cuz she's self repairing or something like that.

She is self-repairing, both on her own and with the helpful power boost she gets from her partner, but the human body is also self-repairing and that doesn't eliminate the need for humans to go see doctors on a regular basis for wellness check ups.

Although Mari, like some humans, will likely be like "I ain't sick I'm doin' just fine ain't no need to go see the doctor..."

I look forward to seeing their recovery, since I'm fairly sure this is, by nature, the emotional bottom of this story.

This is correct - now that she's hit the bottom the climb back to okay can begin. :)

Given that this is around after Vivid ends (if I'm not mistaken), Vivio is already on her way to become a Martial Arts Star.

Having gotten around to finishing Vivid Strike I can now definitely establish the timeline here as "after the end of Vivid, six months before the start of Strike" - Vivio and friends have their next Intermiddle coming up in a couple of months, and by the end of that, Vivio will be ranked World #7 in the U15 Striker category.

I enjoy the music posts! At one point, this was going to be the theme song for the story:

But I felt like I would've then had to do recommended listening everywhere and that it would've been too much work haha.

EDIT: There also is a chance that we would've just gone full summer road trip music and have the entire story be like this:

I feel like we need the reaction of Nanoha and company of Taylor world to see what they think of this particular situation. Other than that I hope that the Infinite Library has information with things that can help Taylor out later on in life.

Fate was gripping Nanoha's shoulder, while Vivio was hugging her Mama's waist and anchoring herself.

Taylor actually was worried for once, and even Mariposa was knocked out of her depression because of fear...

Throughout Midchilda, alarms were ringing.

Nanoha, for her part was still staring wide-eyed and blank-gazed at the report about their discovery of Taylor's Earth Bet.

"Earth Bet has such sad eyes..."

So, where does the story go from here?
It seems like it's going to be a fair few chapters of 'Nanoha cast trying to fix Taylor' which I really don't care to read followed by maybe something interesting happening with the Infinite Library?

In all honesty, if you wanted to utilise or explore the Nanoha setting, plunking Taylor into the IL is quite possibly one of the worst ways of doing it.
She's completely cut off from her own planet, the entities won't give a shit about her so for now they are completely out of the story. All we are left with is Taylor failing to social in Nanoha.

So, where does the story go from here?

EDIT: I don't dislike this story, in fact I quite enjoy it. But you seem to have written yourself into a corner, unless Taylor finds something in the IL.

Are you calling for a reaction interlude or just something like those omakes?

Except Scion('s puppet) is already on Earth Bet. Who is in Nanoha's Befriending Sights.

That's just asking for a Quattro Special Befriending

I like where the story is right now, even tho I feel that just like the PRT they are looking for high powered individuals and if they aren't working with them the will keep a eye on you whether you like it or not. I can't see Fate's organization caring that much if there was just a person displaced with no Device.

I'm just praying that we aren't subjected to Vivo, who is almost as annoying as Vista. Small kids in stories super powered or not annoy the hell out of me. Slice of life and Taylor realizing things on her own without being Nanoha'd/Yunno/Mistress of the Tome of Death to death.

Excellent chapter, but I'm not so certain I like where this seems to be going now? I mean, I don't hold any special knowledge about authorial intent, but tying Taylor to one of the least interesting characters from canon, Yuuno, and setting her up to be a librarian seems...a misstep. I get the Infinite Library actually does hold some danger, but it feels like the wrong kind of danger? It's not a setup for character/event-driven conflict, it's a setup for visiting the Temple of Doom as your nine-to-five, but we don't have Nazis chasing us or whatnot. A war with nobody to fight. Does that make sense to anyone else?

For what it's worth (maybe not much) I promise I have a plan and we're going somewhere with this, and that one of the themes of this story is the past refusing to stay buried and dealing with the things that we'd like to forget about.

That Taylor now has a job as a Librarian does not mean that the rest of this story is going to be antisocial tendencies and knowledge treasure hunts. Please continue to bear with me as we start swinging upwards from the story's lowest point.

actually, yeah, that's genuinely in-character for Nanoha.

See, here you're making the mistake of thinking that we're still playing by Worm's rules. Lyrical Nanoha is less of the Lawless Wasteland that so much of Earth-Bet is, and a lot more modern-day Europe: generally peaceful, but the last war left dangerous crap lying around everywhere, with the occasional asshole thrown in for good measure. there simply isn't any way to get a long and interesting story there without giving the main character a home and job. the only reason why Nanoha gets into so many action-based stories is because she's in the magical equivalent of a SWAT team

The TSAB DOES share some similarities with the PRT, but they're just superficial ones. They would've gotten involved in the same way in Taylor HADN'T had Mari, but possibly without Nanoha and friends along for the ride.

Although the TSAB is on the lookout for High-powered or exceptionally talented individuals, it's less with the intent of recruiting them (though that is a bonus if it happens), and more with the intent of insuring that they don't get someone blowing up a planet or anything. They will Keep an eye on Taylor, but it's gonna be less 'Recruit Her!' and more 'Make sure she doesn't feel like she needs to go nuclear'.

eh, it feels more like an Intra-personal Drama than anything else, with our characters slowly dealing with the various issues that have built up over time, possibly without even noticing it.

in other words, a refreshing new take on old issues. haven't gotten something like that around here for a while, and I, for one, am genuinely looking forward to a world where Taylor actually gets to sit back and recover from her trauma.

Soon as I saw Nanoha being crossed, I was expecting one of several things: a villain or issue of the week they would solve with friendship, an ancient sapient artifact with issues, a slice of life healing-type story with some action, or Indiscriminate Befriending action.

So whatever happens next, it would still be a Nanoha xover.

I just had a scary thought Nanoha with a KeyBlade... I have been reading to many Kingdom hearts X-overs... what am I saying there's Never to many Kingdom Hearts X-overs. Great chapter though.

As amusing as it is, I really hope that Taylor and Mariposa get over their supposed assumptions about Hayate. I also kinda want to see Mariposa go "maintence? Why?" and actually be confused about it cuz she's self repairing or something like that.

Why? They have a entire new world to get used to. There is absolutely no reason for them to ever come into contact with each other. Regardless of what Mariposa knows we all know feelings are different things.

I don't just see her allowing updates/upgrades immediately if ever. No I don't automatically trust the man, but expecting people to be all buddy buddy and crying on strangers shoulders is out of character, if only none of them can relate to their loss.

Hm. So maybe Taylor gets to see Vivio training up the Dempsey Roll in all but name? Though since I guess Taylor was not a Boxing Fan, she wouldn't recognize what it was.

(Though, to be honest, it wasn't for the pretty obvious Hajime no Ippo shout outs in that fight between Vivio and Rinne, I wouldn't have noticed as such.)

"Scion has such sad eyes..."

Okay, I lost it right here.
