So, basically, their plot armor got turned off and nobody mentioned this.

So what would have normally just been a lot of people getting beaten up, ended up in a full court press in the Arrancar favor.

So, how did Urahara figure out that Nemo can drain memories? I mean its vague and inaccurate enough to be a a believable deduction (Nemo's glove grants her tactile psychometry), but how did he come to that conclusion? He was sure enough to claim it as fact.

Also, I hope Alt-Kubo has enough subtlety to just so Nemo touching Tessai with her glove and let the audience guess at what she saw. The flashback was obviously shown in its correct chronological place.

But yeah. Nemo just screams Third Arc hook. I mean she's firmly cemented herself as playing a major role in the character arcs of at least two of the supporting cast and she just claimed to have a connection with a third party (in the same town no less!) who is unaffiliated with either the Hollows or Soul Reapers and presumably powerful enough to enforce their position as a moderator.

Nemo officially has plot armor guys!

Through the power of Marana, she managed to pluck out the protagonists' plot armor bit by bit and fashioned the stolen remnants to be hers. I know there's a reason we're pursuing Legendary la Marana.

She hit Ururu with the trauma beam, causing her worst memories to jump out and be mean to her. That seems like strong evidence.

Combine with her having access to a safe combination she shouldn't know... Not the craziest inference ever.

Or, he has unspecified reiatsu measuring devices in his store, and analyzed what she did in the first break-in.

When she brought the spirits of traumas past to play with Ururu, they pretty clearly came from her own memories, which she would have likely told Urahara about.

Words cannot express how much Nemo's situation weighed on my mind. By the Holy Virgin, she survived!

Suicide Missions
-----------------------
"...and then, we returned via garganta," Ulquiorra said in his usual near-monotone. "That concludes this after-action report. This mission was a nearly-flawless success."

"Who, boy, you aren't kidding," Grimmjow chimed in. "I haven't had this much fun in years. Although, let's be honest, it got a little rough out there. I thought we might be in trouble when all those extra captains showed up. Good thing my boy Ilforte was on the ball, right?"

"Where did he even learn to operate a cement mixer?" Harribel wondered. "Without that, I don't see how Nemo and Tesla would have survived Ulquiorra's little tantrum, much less distracted your opponents long enough for you to disengage safely."

"Eh. Ilforte's got skills. I wouldn't keep him around if he was just a pretty face."

"I was not throwing a tantrum," Ulquiorra pointed out sullenly. "I secured the primary mission objective, and left the maximum number of combatants behind to help deal with the shinigami..."

"Yeah, whatever. You didn't even edit your gloating out of the creepy eyeball movie you showed us. Get bent."

"That brings up a new point, though," Aaroniero spoke up from the end of the table. "When is it going to be my turn to send Nemo Elcorbuzier on a suicide mission?"

Everyone stared silently at him.

"Oh, come on. This can't be a coincidence. Is there, like, a sign-up sheet or something? Or a rotation? I'm not trying to jump in line, but I don't want to get left out. Sending Nemo out to die must be great fun, because everyone important does it. And it's so useful! Aizen sent her to die, and she came back with those notes for him. Now, Ulquiorra sent her out to die, and he's such a stick in the mud."

"Huh," Grimmjow commented. "That's true, isn't it? It's like, the cool thing to do."

"No one is sending Nemo on suicide missions," Cirucci grated through clenched teeth. "This whole conversation is completely inappropriate..."

"Don't be selfish, Thunderwitch. You got to send Nemo to her doom already. Let everyone else have a turn."

"I never..."

"You did," Ulquiorra said. "You sent her to provoke Yammy into releasing before you challenged him. That's definitely a suicide mission. Yammy would have killed her in a heartbeat."

"She was just supposed to be figuring out why nobody challenged him. She wasn't supposed to provoke him. She just gets a little carried away sometimes."

"What about having her assassinate Ruddborne? That totally could have gotten her killed."

"I never wanted her to assassinate Ruddborne! That was completely spontaneous. She was supposed to be with Luppi at the time. She just does these things."

"I don't buy it," Barragan answered. "You can tell the truth, Cirucci. We won't think less of you. I, myself, sent Nemo on a suicide mission shortly before she started working from you, and I found the the results to be quite satisfactory. At the time, I was a little displeased at her survival, but now I'm eager to see how long she can keep evading doom."

"See?" Aaroniero said. "I just want to get my turn. There's this hollow I've been wanting to eat, and I'd like to send Nemo to bring it back alive. It's totally out of her league. I bet she'll do something amazing. Shouldn't take too long for her, I imagine."

"Does it have to be a 'mission', exactly?" Grimmjow wondered. "I mean, if this is the going thing, I want to be a team player, but I don't really have a job in mind. Maybe I could just invite her to come train with me and my guys? And we'll keep going until she either inflicts a permanent scar on me, or dies, whichever comes first. Would that count?"

"That seems fair," Harribel allowed. "Except she's just going to Gran Rey you. We already know she can do that."

"Yeah, you're right, that would be kind of lame. Well, I'll try to think of something before my turn comes up. I like Nemo, I want to do right by her. How about you, Zommari, you have any plans?"
I needed this.

Also, we've done favors/missions for half of the Espada.

1. Stark: We gave Lilynette appropriate attire. Probably a suicide mission for anyone else not as stylish as us.
2. Barragan: We dealt with his old Crown.
3. Harribel
4. Ulquiorra: He left us for dead because we did an opera he didn't like. Bad Bat.
5. Cirucci: Our lover.
6. Grimmjow
7. Zommari
8. Szayelaporro: Mad Science buddy.
9. Aaroniero
10. Wonderweiss: He enjoyed our Opera, on his last night as a sapient being.

So, this means that Nemo has concluded the battle as the only (alleged) Fraccion who never released her Resurrecion. She did this after completing her objective, and forcing a Captain to fold and escaping dragging two injured comrades with her.

The only arrancar on the field at the moment who have not released are Wonderweiss, the 10th Espada, and Grimmjow, the 6th Espada.

Her mask is also suspiciously large compared to every other Arrancar the audience has seen. And she heals like a baseline, non-arrancar hollow.

"Does she even have a Ressurrecion?" ask some of the audience, wondering if she's some prototype half-arrancar who doesn't have the same ability to release their full power, but has a higher baseline compared to the other fraccions and retained her super-healing. "Maybe her power isn't bound into her sword - look how crude it is and how she mostly fights with balas and ceros, almost like her sword is defective."

"Is it just me, or does anyone else get the feeling Kubo has been playing a bunch of Hollow Knight?"

This. As it turns out, the old and experienced people know what they are doing, and stunts like that can and do get people killed.
If the old people wanted the impressionable teens with superpowers to be cautious and respectful, they shouldn't have introduced them to the supernatural by encouraging them to go off half-cocked on a suicide mission. A mission that relied on them being willing and able to tell their elders to stuff it.

I'd say for the Alt-Bleach readers, the Arrancar/Winter War arc might actually be the best arc in Bleach, with wham chapters every few weeks.

Why the best? Because there are stakes, and the Arrancars are legitimate antagonists with enough power and complexity to counter the Soul Society. It's not just overwhelming powers, they're not just monsters in human shape.

And this time, the uncertainty of the drifters' future attempt to get Ichigo might be more pronounced because we see them being defeated quite handily by Fraccions instead of facing an Espada. Even Ichigo's power-up was snuffed out like a candle before he could fully unleash its potential.

Some people might disagree though, claiming Kubo loved the Arrancars too much that he give them plot armor instead.
