Holy crapola Nemo actually pulled it off, she'll need to make it up to Ilforte but gods be damned she pulled her and Tesla's arses out of the fire.

But wow, if I'm reading it right the fight only went as badly for the Shinigami as it did is because of the girls' stunt.

Like, Ikkaku's death, the garrisons' maiming and Ichigo's kidnapping might legitimately their fault!

They got a man killed!

As for Nemo, I have a poison-dart frog to build up and properly explain, if I can do that without falling into her swamps again!
Are you thinking about that type of frog that gets its toxins from the things it feeds from?
damn Ururu for making me want Nemo to be a better person!
Ah, but don't you understand? That was the true power she had all along; making things worth fixing; without that our skills would be worth as little as anything else.
Full on "Oh god what did I do" I suspect. It was dumb, it was kind of selfish and it got people killed. As intensive as actually getting powers was, but the feeling is of guilt and horror and shame, instead.
I wonder if that would change her powers in any way; they are perfectly able to adapt and defend her from anything else you care to name, but what happens when the thing that needs to be defended from is her?
Moreover, he only did so because of Luppi's play. Which means that, true to Luppi's form, Ulquiorra was drawn into betraying Cirucci and Nemo, and in so doing he betrayed himself.
Holy shit that is some next level mind fuckery and the guy would approve to hell and back.

Well to be fair the only reason those traps were there in the first place was due to Nemo successfully infiltrating the shop and stealing those documents.

Did... did they just lock away their three best fighters right before an important battle just to satisfy their pride?

Just Tatsuki who doesn't know what's at stake. She was given relevance and now she has to deal with.

Although, Tessai just got some crazy character development. Like I'm just imagined that the AU-manga readers seeing stern, stoic store front keeper Tessai slowly lose his shit against the mysterious HorrorMoth! Nemo. As his wounds accumulate and his emotions are unshackled, he's doing everything in his power to stop those hostile Arrancars but. He. Just. Can't. Get. A Break!

Finally, he gets lucky and breaks up Rukia's fight as a side effect. That doesn't matter though as he fight and wins a bitter fight against TWO Arrancar, but then the Nemo confrontation happens....

We all saw the outcome of that fight. Plenty of Exposition and activity to dissect there.

Although, Did anyone else pick up on the fact that Nemo surprised herself with her thoughts on Grantz' Armor? It's almost a small if someone were writing exposition all dialog into her thought ( bubble) process.

If nothing else, it should be one hell of a reality check; despite your power, life isn't a shonen anime Tatsuki.
Makes a nice contrast to the high of actually getting powers.

Sounds like Bleach Alternative's follow up arc to Soul Society's "Be a rebellious teenager and shake unjust, stagnant society" is pretty srs bsns. Probably full on "Transition to adulthood/responsibility of the powerful" arc.

My question from this update... how badly will Tatsuki blame herself for Ikkaku's death and the other's cripplings? Because it's her fault and her fault alone that Yoruichi and Urahara were late to those battles. Ichigo being captured is one thing- it's not permanent, and there's always a chance to get him back- but those others can't be taken back.
"Remember this well. There are two kind of fights in this world. As long as we place ourselves in battle, we must always know the difference: the fight to defend life...And the fight to defend pride!"
-Ukitake

Learn the difference Tatsuki, it could save a life.

It is going to be rough to be on the Karakura crew after this. They delayed three captain level fighters to try and prove themselves, but got themselves crushed by opponents that really weren't even giving their all and the delay both cost a life and got Ichigo captured.

So the karate kid is the bad guy and Nemo, the nominal villain, is actually the good guy.

So basically just The Karate Kid.

i REALY want to see au comic readers react to this, it would be great.

"...of frozen starlight."

Time stands still.
Resplendent Path of Frozen Starlight (Advanced)
"By manipulating the flow of time itself you have learned to step out of line with the world that once confined you. Foes move sluggishly, as though submerged, or even stop altogether at your will, while your own motions are unconstrained. Such blatant disregard for physical law is dangerous, however, and excessive use of this spell can cause significantly internal damage."

You know I just realized that with her kind personality, primarily ranged attacks and acting as a medic as shown in this chapter, the AU manga readers are probably going to be referring to Nemo as the Arrancar equivalent to Orihime.

"does that mean orihime is terrifying to arrancars like nemo is terrifying to us?"
"fairys scare the crap out of hollows?"
"fairy girl to scary pls nerf"

Don't be so quick to blame Tatsuki alone. She's a teenager in over her head; the people who actually understand the stakes and how reckless her behavior was could have taught her better, but failed to. They did not foresee her actions, which are deeply shounen protagonist in nature, but come from a place of wanting to help and matter. Could they not have anticipated this?

And on top of that, while she is the one who turned on the traps and delayed the Urahara Crew, she did so after making sure both Ururu and Orihime were on board with her initiative.

It's a mistake of many parts.
