I don't care.

I want Nemo to be selfish for once. Live, die, hurt, pleasure, it doesn't really matter.

I want Nemo to heal because I want Nemo to heal. Not because of game mechanics, or upgrades, but because she needs to do something for herself. Not for anyone else.

[x] Refuse. Nothing is worth the moral hazard of working on this project, or the dangers of Szayel's laboratory. You will offend the Espada, who might not even understand why you're letting go of such an opportunity, but Style will let you do so smoothly enough that he won't hold a grudge.

[X] Work with Szayel. In exchange you will ask for…
-[X] Nothing.
By feigning pure scientific interest in his work and an eagerness to help him, you will please him greatly and make him less likely to scrutinize your work, putting you in a better position to make the Sacrophagus less inhumane, and perhaps giving you the opportunity to pilfer Szayel's notes on other subjects for your own use.

I just wanted Nemo to pull Rohan Kishibe. DAGA KOTOWARU !!! Also, degradation of art into mere tool of science and stuff, but welp, whats done is done. I shall use this opportunity to ask. Who is 10th espada now? I probably missed it in updates and am too lazy for reread.

So, you want her to do something for herself that will backfire horribly and in all likelihood leave her with lingering issues over whatever "improvements" Szayel makes, pushing her to act even more unhealthily on the "taking care of herself" front because she's learned that any selfishness only brings worse?

So you want Nemo to not act like Nemo.
Nemo can most certainly act selfish under the right circumstances, the most obvious example being when she stole notes from Aizen for no other reason than because she wanted to. If caught, that would bring down almost literal fire on not just herself, but Cirucci as well as her fraccion.

To a lesser extent her illegal forays into the human world are the same, bringing risk to herself and by extension risking the happiness of those who care about her.

-[X] Healing your crippling injuries.
With the Quinta as your mistress, there is no risk of him offending her by turning you into a freaky mutant, but letting Szayel play around with your insides might still have consequences, even - especially - if he believes he's helping you doing so. Then again, these consequences could be positive…

I don't think the possible negatives to this will be nearly negative enough for this to be bad. in fact, there is a far too great amount of fear mongering going on here in my option.

Also, i've seen more then a few people say things like "oh we'll just find another way to heal us", to which I say, it's been this long since we got injured and we have not found one aside from friendly hollow medic that can't do it anymore, as far as I'm concerned it seems to me that we are getting to be kinda close to the invasion, and with the lack of any other option yet presented to us this seems like the best if not the only option we might get before it's too late.

It's been a single story arc since we were injured, and the actual fighting isn't likely to be due for a few more arcs yet.

I think that likely is where we differ in opinion here because I don't think we have that much time left in comparison to me we need to be healed now because while there MIGHT be another option soon we have seen no indication that there is unless someone else has an Idea of a way we could get healed. Because while Hueco Mundo might be many things a place where ways to be healed is abundant it is not, The only other way I can think of is Orihime and that's dependent on a hell of a lot of factors that we as a character have no way of knowing or acting upon.

This is actually the third chapter during which Nemo is crippled.

In Chapter 8, she killed Ruddborne and got stabbed.

Chapter 9 was focused on Marana, interacting with her friends, and ended with Tousen.
Chapter 10 was Cirucci taking center stage.
Chapter 11 is where we are now, the Opera Chapter.

And, yeah, I don't think it would be too surprising if it took three more chapters for the next chance to show up, if it does at all.

Yeah, that sounds pretty sweet! I'm down for "I never kinda totally asked for this" quest with angst and body issues. I'm significantly less down for "Nemo's Adventures in Chronic Pain Management".

It's a dumb choice, and it's us slipping back from our developing goodness in favor of a selfish choice. But I would much rather read the mistake than the right choice.

ES is totally right about it being non-thematic, and I think the people voting nothing or refuse are making a better choice here. But I'm not gonna vote for something I personally don't enjoy, so I'm sticking with the hope of Szayel's poisonous friendship and his spiritually unclean healing.

Even a scientist needs to respect his colleagues, unless he wishes to drive them away. By subjecting him to lessons in common courtesy and acting around other people, you might teach him to notice the difference between awe and abject horror. This might humanize his approach to some of his more extensively modified subjects, but most likely only on cosmetic level.

Many (most?) male cephlapods use specialized tentacles to transfer packets of sperm into the body cavities of females during mating.

Biology!
Please don't remind me of Mayuri/Szayel canon fight.

Of course, since I'm being reminded of it there are chances he's going to use Nemo as extra 'insurance'. He did that to Nemu without touching her once, what else can he do with full consent on Nemo?
