Wait, this is definitely CVE-26, right? Multiple sources online list her as being decomissioned from the navy shortly after the war due to still being damaged at the time of surrender, but it also looks like she was sold into civilian service and coverted back to being a commercial tanker by whoever purchased her? It lools like she goes through a series of owners until finally being scrapped in 1960 (in Osaka, Japan of all places), with at least one cting owners and reflags according to Loyds Shipping Index?@Lord K Esso was Scraps early after the war as she was very damaged damaged at it end do to a Kamikaze strike.
"CONVERTED BACK into an oil tanker, the Sangamon's decks no longer echo the roar of airplane engines or the staccato of ack-ack fire. The former Esso tanker was purchased by the Maritime Transportation Co. after the war."
Fate: Sold to Hillcone Steamship Co., San Francisco; delivered on 11 February 1948.
The following information was provided by Gerhard Mueller-Debus:
According to Lloyd's Shipping Index she was later owned by World Commerce Corp., New York (Lloyd's, Jul 1, 1952); by Maritime Transportation Co. S.A., Panama (Lloyd's, Jan 23, 1958); and by Sangamon Corp., Monrovia, Liberia (Lloyd's, Apr 5, 1960). Always according to Lloyd's, Sangamon left Galveston, Texas on Mar 9, 1960 bound for Bombay, but ran aground and was towed to Suez, arriving Apr 2. She was scrapped in Osaka, Japan, starting Aug 1960.
Afterwards Sangamon departed via Ulithi and Pearl Harbor back to the United States. On June 12, 1945 arrived Norfolk, Virginia for repairs until the end of the Pacific War. In the middle of August 1945, repair work was suspended die to the cessation of hostilities. During September 1945 was scheduled to be inactivated. On October 24, 1945 decommissioned. On November 1, 1945 struck from the Naval Vessel Register.
For her World War II service, Sangamon earned 8 battle stars. Her three air groups each earned the Presidential Unit Citation (PUC).
Postwar
Sold to Hillcone Steamship Company in San Francisco and arrived February 11, 1948. Afterwards, the ship had multiple owners until finally sold for scrap in 1960.
Fate
During August 1960 scrapped at Osaka.
Decommissioning
The Sangamon limped into port at Norfolk on June 12, 1945, for repairs. When the Japanese announced their intention to surrender in August, those repairs were suspended. In September, she was de-activated; in October, she was decommissioned. On Nov. 1, she was struck from the Naval Vessel Register. She passed through multiple owners before being scrappedâ€"ironically, in Japanâ€"in August 1960.
Esso looks at the girl in front of her with the look of a veteran who seen to much combat gives to someone who see to little and Says, "You'll be surprised how easy to confuse people for there siblings, and sadly I didn't really pay to much attention to the space race. But would you like some advice that if this really is Abysses, advice that Enterprise gave to me and I gave you one of your sister Shangri-La? "

It's something for everyone to rally around, thus, it's a GM post. Might be a delayer, but it's a GM post. This ain't the real GM post, this is just me buying time for the real post to accumulate in my head and gather everyone into one area.
I would really rather you didn't.Am I allowed to mention NSFW stuff in a non-explicit manner?
Man, even entertainment has come along way since the 20th Century. Even 'adult entertainment' has increased in quality, to be expected of this horny world. I remember when the best you could do was go to the nearest Red Light or imagine a scenario using a magazine.
Alright
It's a log. Not necessarily a Captain's log, but hey.
You assume Esso wants another Turtle.
I interpreted this as "every time Esso gets drunk, she adopts a new turtle." And I am all for that. Curious as to what you meant, but I like that mental image.
IN Esso Human backstory the one time she went drinking with a friend (Nevada) she got black out drunk and somehow adopted a turtle and as she's not to good and the hole girl thing she thinks that it'll happen every time she drinks. Not logical, yes, but it's what she believes also yes so she doesn't drink to avoids adopting more turtles.I interpreted this as "every time Esso gets drunk, she adopts a new turtle." To be fair, MSSB. It could be entirely possible that it's a law of the universe that Esso would adopt a turtle every time she gets sufficiently drunk. Not likely, but what the heck. Imagine her letting her guard down once and ending up adopting another turtle through sheer coincidence.IN Esso Human backstory the one time she went drinking with a friend (Nevada) she got black out drunk and somehow adopted a turtle and as she's not to good and the hole girl thing she thinks that it'll happen every time she drinks.
