im already using a program to mark players in turn 0, however it seems Paint.net decided today was a good day to send an update that completely crashed the program and im unable to finish the map, it will take a while before i can get the game starting.
I did a little research into each of the areas I considered starting at, and knowing this is how I knew I actually might have a chance up there rather than having to be worried about being engulfed by a massive, oversized, unified China right from the get-go.
Below are your nation sheets. They consist of seven sections: government, retinue, religion, language, economy, military, and issues.
Government simply defines how your country is run, and can be seen in a simpler manner through map fonts.
Your retinue consists of the four most important individuals in your country, who are called "advisors." Your leader will always be listed first, followed by top ministers in important fields such as religion, warfare, economics, and diplomacy. Your retinue may consist of different sets of people depending upon what your nation values most; for instance, a warmonger may find his retinue entirely filled with generals, whereas a confederation's retinue may contain local leaders instead of specialized advisors. A number beside the advisor indicates the approximate turn that you can expect them to die of old age, assuming they are not killed before then. Advisors who die or retire on their own will be automatically replaced with an heir of their own choice. You may force advisors to retire early, or even execute one, in which case you can personally select a new advisor to put in their retinue slot, but this will likely cause instability, as nobody likes to lose power and influence.
Your religion and language sections will list pertinent information about what your people believe in and how they communicate. First will be listed your official religion/language, followed by significant minor religions/languages. Religions and languages which are specific to a geographical location or group of people within your society will be specified in parenthesis.
The economy section will show what kind of employment your people mostly engage in. This is not an indicator of the only economic activity in the country, just the most common ones.
The military section tells how advanced your army is compared to reality-timeline Europe, both in technology and tactics. Military size is determined by the amount of land and the number of cities and towns you posess. This section will also include any special modifiers brought on by laws or events.
Finally, the issues section will tell of any pending problems which you need to deal with. Usually these will also be explained in the text of each turn.

The city of Gahang was established in a time unknown to the people living there today, it is believed it was founded when a group of settlers ventured out of the south of Korea and arrived at the coasts of Liaodong, trough means of trading they soon engaged with Chinese culture, technology and writing, advancing the city's growth at unprecedented speed and with it its defenses. Now Gahang is a bursting metropolis and an important trade location for goods coming through from china towards the peninsula, which has helped it expand its influence towards local surrounding settlements.
The city sports multiple thick layers of wall, on the inside lives the aristocratic population who descend from the original Korean settlers of the city, Surrounding these are the suburbs and communities of refugees that have flocked to the city for better opportunities. Although at first they leeched off the massive success of the city, they soon found employment and acted as productive members of the community, earning them a wall that secures their families. Outside the city many more refugees and immigrants flock and settle on the outskirts of the city where they are treated as foreigners by the "local" populace.
The city of Baping has sent a delegation to King Yiang asking for his help; it seems the mayor has sufficient reason to believe the Qin State is planning a campaign to take and annex the neutral City-State which will leave us with a direct border with the Chinese. If we respond to the city's call of arms it will anger Qin and likely start a war between us.
For as long as time has existed the land known as Korea hasn't seen civilization up until the arrival of the Bohaitung, which pacified and introduced Chinese cultural prefects to most of the settlements of the peninsula and Manchuria. Still there are many more barbarians that , many of these come from south Korea where tribals have organized in raiding parties and regularly cross out borders to destroy our settlements and assault traders carrying our gold and treasures. We must disband these raiding parties and civilize the rest of the peninsula if we want to enjoy peace.
Recently, trade boats carrying sums of gold and silver dispatched from our ports to meet with the Chinese to complete a food trades with the empire have been continuously raided by pirates of unknown origin who made off with all of our loot, this has deprived the kingdom of half of its treasury. Chancellor Yiang believes this to be an inside job as those ship's routes are classified information only available to government officials.

The Shangur are a people who have inhabited the lands east of Bactria for centuries, originally they consisted of scattered settlements across the mountain range with little to no relation with each other, they were poor and survived on whatever they could harvest, having no concept of a market or trade. This drastically changed with the arrival of alexander and the Hellenistic world; they were drafted into his army and participated in his campaign against the Indian city-states in the Indus River receiving in return a lot of experience. Alexander might have died but the influence his empire had on the Shangurian people is still latent, many soldiers have come back home speaking Greek and even prying away their shamanic traditions in favor of the Greek pantheon.
Macedonian influence was brief, and yet it was strong enough to trigger a modernization movement that threatens to trigger a societal shift in Shangur. Many have risen in opposition to this movement, amongst them is the Shaman Kangjin Ruslanovna, who seeks to destroy all traces of foreign influence in the country, tearing down statues, destroying Greek architecture and massacring many Bactrian Greeks, if he is not stopped Shangur will return to its origins.
Persian satraps are mounting constant raids on our territories and have been spotted stationing large armies near our borders, the seleucid authority, rather than punishing their rowdy subjects is encouraging local governors to take action by themselves and are even supplying them with more troops, no doubt so they can recover their eastern provinces.

JbeJ275 Government: Monarchy Retinue: Chief Medghasen Sultana (5), Thasnutt Shahan (2), General Azayku Rafiq (4), Master of the blade Isri Kazemi(3) Religion: Phoenician Pantheon Language: Tifinagh Economy: Trading, Slavery Military: Early Classical Issues: War with Carthage, Rebellion
Let me tell you the story of the one they call Medghasen, general of generals, it is said he was born in a peasant family, out of the rugged terrains of the atlas as part of one of the local tribes of Mauritania. Kidnaped by a rival tribe, he was separated from his family when he was only 12 years old, spending most of his life traveling from owner to owner, eventually reaching a wealthy Berber lord. Managing to earn his freedom he was tutored by his same owner on martial arts, literature, dialectics and many more subjects until he was old enough to carry his own sword, and fight his own battles. He soon started making a name for himself, carving his kingdom, recruiting allies and executing rival leaders who stood in his way, eventually his kingdom grew so big he met with the mighty Carthagians and in an unexpected turn of events, managed to defeat several of its vassal city-states in decisive victories. His kingdom grew twice fold, but his problems also grew…
The Carthagians have declared war on us and demand we give up their stolen provinces before they raze and salt our cities, their armies march towards our provinces and they have begun constructing new fleets to meet us on all fields.
some of our vassals refuse to accept our rule by not sending their men to battle whenever general Azayku summons them, others have even attacked him and his men on the way to send the message, it is clear they that without their men we will be greatly hindered in the battle against cartage.

Umm, after changing my nation I also changed claimed territories, I should only currently have my North African stuff and the rock of Gibraltar, not a significant chunk of southern Spain.
Looks like an interesting concept, I'll give it a go. Though I would strongly suggest a separate IC and OOC thread for the game. Otherwise, things tend to get cluttered very easily.
Nation Name: Britiaci
Language Base: Common Brittonic/ English.
History: The Britiaci arrived on the southern part of the island from the continent around 500 BC, drawn to the rich deposits of tin found on the south-western part of the isle. Though initially a peaceful tribe of farmers and craftsmen settling into fertile valleys in the south-west the Britiaci soon proved themselves able in combat, expanding their territory and reach beyond their initial holdings by subjugating and incorporating, or expelling, rival tribes within the region and moving eastward, incorporating richer farmlands and greater resources.
It is around their initial expansion period that the Britiaci are believed to have formed themselves into a kingdom rallied around a central figure, rather than merely a collective tribe, and their influence seems to have grown accordingly. They developed a more unique and complex polytheistic religious system, complete with rituals, holy days and a religious hierarchy
The kingdom currently occupies the entire southern peninsula of the island by the year 300 BC, with no notable recent expansions.
History: Once there was a boy, born as the heir of a tribe of many, a strong tribe which lived off the land and the sea. Yet, it was just one tribe and many other similar tribes lived throughout the land, each following their own ways, with their own laws and leaders. The boy grew, and his ambition grew even faster as he heard stories of battle between the tribes. Combat between tribes was far from unheard of, and often grudges would be held for generations as each tribe would attempt to repay genuine or imaginary crimes. Blood was shed across generations, alliances woven and connections made.
But to the boy who grew into a man, this seemed like such a wasteful thing. Yes, there was battle and perhaps another may have been happy to simply indulge in bloodshed and revenge for the latest grievance. But he had greater dreams. He wished to leave a mark upon this world, upon his people and all these walking the lands. Rather than do harm to the surrounding tribes, he rather wished to make them one. He was a dreamer at heart, though one quite willing to shed rivers of blood to make his dreams true.
His arms were strong, skilled at use with the axe and he could throw a spear further than anyone else his age. Most of all, his tongue was sharp and his words rang true among the allies of their tribe. His charisma was one that was rarely seen, the kind that can both be seen as a blessing and as a curse upon the world. When the boy's father died and he became chief of his tribe, he was already ready within his heart. Indeed, though it took decades of work, he managed to unite the tribes of the surrounding lands under his rule, some through words, others through blood.
But now the time of this legend is over and the next generation has to keep hold of that which was forged. Will the great conqueror's heir hold together that which was united, perhaps even create further prosperity?
Or will it all fall apart?
Location: Cape York Peninsula (However much land of it you think is fitting here.)
Alright, decided to give it a shot. Hope this works for you. Just tell me if I should correct anything.
About the name of the nation, I was trying to find some correct languages for the region, but couldn't find anything approaching like a dictionary. Plus a lot of the languages in that region have been dead for a while apparently... then I thought "Wait, this is thousands of years ago, the languages are probably totally different.) and just decided to use the Aboriginal name generator on fantasynamegenerators.com
To make it easier for you to find nations to interact with for me.
And these city states were around from the 2nd Century BC, so they were probably already a thing, just not as powerful and prosperous.
There is also apparently a Hindu Kingdom mentioned in the Ramayana mentioned called Yawadvipa, which is apparently theorized to have been in Sumatra or Java in 200 BC.
Edit: Note the multi-chiefdom / Tribal Kingdom is named after the one who created it, aka mister conqueror. (At least he wasn't as bad as Alexander who third named every city after himself, his mother or his horse.)

Hmm, maybe you could suggest something about our advisors. Like describing them with two random adjectives, for example "conservative" and "hotheaded" in case of my shaman. I can induce that much from narrative given, but about others I have completely no idea what would be proper command fitting them. It could potentially help you with making them less generic and deciding outcome of their action too.
Maybe it is bad idea though, I do not know.
"i actually have a good idea that will give personality to each character in simple ways, by using an alignment chart system which
C = Chaotic
L = Lawful
G = Good
E = Evil
N = Neutral
Chaotic characters will tend to break the law more often than not and take a lot of initiative, doing things on their own, whereas Lawful characters will be a bit more predictable and reasonably controllable.
Good characters are those who will usually always seek to serve your country in whatever capacity they have been given. Evil characters will take advantage of instability and power to enrich themselves, and have lofty ambitions.
Neutral does not always mean that a character is actually neutral on an axis. It can also mean that they simply have not had their true nature exposed. Be careful of the neutrals; with enemies you know where you stand, but with neutrals? Who knows.
I have also added skill rankings, which immediately follow alignments. This is a ranking of how good a character is at their particular job, and will determine how successful they will be when put to tasks which fit their skills. Skill has a chance to increase with each action the character takes, but it is not guaranteed to rise.
S = Superb
A = Good
B = Par
C = Subpar
So now, a character's discriptor will look like this:
Also Master of the blade Hae Yevdokin seems to have early access to air travel as he's pulling double duty in Morocco and Pakistan. He also seems to be willing to work for two masters.
i apologize for some of the mistakes i made, i actually havent been GMing a for a long time so im still new at this, plus english is not my native language, any ideas for the game are welcomed.
i created the discord server, everyone is invited to join and the link will expire in a day.

Hello there. Finally someone broke out and decided to settle next to other player, not on the other side of the world.
Come over when you are free, we can sit back and drink some tea together. Share old stories of the Great, Godly Alexander.
You are also basically taking control of historical nation. Are you sure you do not want something more fictional ? We have Mauritania already, so it is probably ok.
If you want Parthia, not Seleucids, your best bet is to TAKE OVER them. Parthia emerged conqering them historically anyway.
I'm really interested as well. I am intrigued with the idea of being a Native American nation/coalition that someday crosses the Atlantic. I was thinking either some sort of hopewell group or maybe Central American. Does anyone have any ideas?
Excellent, I look forward to the next turn, as for starting as the Selucids, I chose the Parthians as A) The Selucid Empire is massive compared to the present player nations and B) Playing an emerging nation within a sprawling collapsing Empire is fun. Fall of Rome games are good too.

I am not quite sure how this works... would the Seleucids splinter into you and another nation or do you emerge and the Seleucids will try to reconquer you?

It can be done exactly as it was historically - first Seleucids split, then weak independent governor is overthrow by local population, namely Parthians. Classic CKII move
There is really nice article on Parthia on wiki, which is my source.

Space Jawa Government: Monarchy Retinue: Taewang Xu Yo-Jang (NG A, 6), Gun Cao Kwang-Sun (NG C, 7), General Ch'on Lei (LE B, 5), Chancellor Yiang Minjun (LG S, 4) Religion: Taoism, Confucianism Language: Bohait Economy: Trading, Mining Military: Early Classical Issues: War with Qin, low finances
- Bohaitung counter-spies hired by Yiang have pointed out to Changgok as the leader of the ploy and a quick order of arrest has been issued, however neither the man nor the stolen gold could be found. It is believed Changgok escaped his chambers while learning of the investigation to join the Qin court, the force behind the plot. Spy networks in Qin confirm the general has switched sides and continues to feed the Qin information about our defenses. We have a new general called Ch'on Lei.
- Diplomatic envoys are sent to Baping, but by the time they arrive they discover Qin has advanced on the city-state, Thanks to Changgok they discovered our secret dealings with Baping and have proceeded to annex it and declare war on us. The diplomats are sent back to their nation were they alert the king of the situation.
- Forts and walls are built alongside the Liao River, they help stall Qin's forces so they don't capture Bohaitung in one swift campaign but the overwhelming forces of the Qin break apart the hastily built defenses. Other defensive structures are raised on the border with Korean savages, which help stall their raids for now.
- The nation redirects its entire economy towards war, naval academies are constructed and a new standing army, double the size of the previous one, is hired to protect the realm, propaganda to recruit new promising members is also paid for. All of these expenses coupled with the recent loss of half our gold have left our treasury almost empty, if we don't find a way to pay our new soldiers they will revolt against us quicker than we hired them.
- Merchant spies have arrived and after gathering intelligence they report that: a nomad force called Xiognu are encroaching on Qin's territory, thanks to a drought on their lands forcing their relocation, a new Chinese state is rising in the center of the middle kingdom called the Han but currently have no military capabilities and Japanese kingdoms are neutral about us.
- Diplomatic envoys are sent to Zhou and Chu; both states recognize Bohaitung as an important neutral trade zone. The Zhou prefer to stay neutral, having to deal with many internal struggles caused by several reforms, while the Chu agree to an alliance and join the war to stop Qin Aggression on their lands

Not ImporTant Government: Tribal Confederation Retinue: Chief Somun Yaroslav (CN G, 5), Chief Sun Luchokov (NE B, 2), Shaman Deng Vitolivich (LG B, 5), Chief Hae Yevdokin (NG C, 3) Religion: Hellenism, Zoroastrianism Language: Shangurian, Greek Economy: Subsistence Agriculture Military: Early Classical Issues: Border Friction with Maurya, Religious Tensions, Modernization
- Shaman Kangjin is hunted down during one of his Bactrian massacres, he is quartered in a small border village by a combination of Luchokov's men and Bactrian Soldiers in what would be remembered as the "Battle of Tangaria".The Hellenic coalition surrounds the settlement and proceeds to slaughter all of the Shaman's loyalist in intense close-quarter combat until no man is left to escape. The shaman is brought to justice and sentenced to death by being thrown out of the highest peak of the realm in a typical Greek manner.
- A new Shaman is hired, Deng Vitolivich. As part of his reform plan he hopes to integrate local shamanic beliefs into the Hellenic pantheon so that the new syncretism will help the local populace adopt the religion faster. This works for those whose still retain polytheistic beliefs, but a new wave of Zoroastrian missionaries, no wonder sent by the Seleucids, are propagating their one god cult into the minds of our people. They believe Deng's teachings oppress their own beliefs and call for either his renunciation or a defection from Shangur, and with the number of Zoroastrians increasing every day, this defection will see most of the tribes leaving the nation.
- The chapter with Kangjin has helped solidify relations between Shangur and Bactria, although the Greco-Bactrians still consider Shangur to be a backwards nation, their recent adoption of the Greek-pantheon and the ever-increasing Hellenistic influence on the Shangur has helped them consider an older brother relations with us, fueling our modernization efforts in exchange for able-bodied men that will fight the Persians.
- As the Seleucids switch from simple raid operations to a full scale invasion on previous Hellenic lands, the Bactrian-Shangur alliance swiftly defeats their forces. Shangurian guerrilla tactics proved useful to wear down the satrap's levies and the mountainous terrain allowed for many bottleneck situations where large forces got broken down by a few regiments. The Seleucids are defeated and forced to fall back to the Zagros and we have seized their lands as part of a treaty, half of our borders now touch those of Maurya, and border tensions soon arrive as governors can't decide the boundaries of the new provinces and local skirmishes occur.
Mauritania
JbeJ275 Government: Military Dictatorship Retinue: Chief Medghasen Sultana (CE S, 5), Thasnutt Shahan (NE B, 2), General Azayku Rafiq (LN A, 4), Master of the blade Isri Kazemi (LE A, 3) Religion: Phoenician Pantheon Language: Tifinagh, Punic Economy: Trading, Slavery Military: Early Classical Issues: Treacherous Faction, Carthaginian revolts, Punic Modernization, Iberian Raids
-The king's mission doesn't result quite as well as expected and many of our former warlords have switched sides with the Carthaginians, who promised them even greater riches if they betrayed their leader. Now a new faction has risen in the kingdom that hopes to depose Medghasen, and install someone friendlier to Carthage.
- Pirates and mercenaries have been more trustworthy allies, many of them joined our cause with the hopes they can finally raid the rich ports of Carthage, which they do without mercy. Mercenaries from Greek city-states have responded our call and allied our cause, their hoplites proving to be essential in order to counter-arrest Carthaginians heavy infantry.
- And despite the best efforts by the Carthaginians to undermine Megdhasen's authority the king practically marches to victory almost unopposed, regiment after regiment of Carthaginians infantry meets their demise at the Atlas and the Punic senate grows worried with each successive defeat. Eventually the king reaches the gates of the famous city and proceeds to siege it until his forces are able to enter and sack Carthage. The defeat has left the empire so humiliated they have no choice but to begrudgingly recognize their new sovereign lord.
- Most Carthaginians nobles are uncomfortable with the new system of government, which centralizes all power towards the Mauritanian capital and allow no representative power for the aristocrats, the rest have left their mainland to reconstruct the empire in the island of Mutica and continue to influence internal revolt within our kingdom trough Aradus, a man of Punic origin which now leads our rebellious vassals.
- The newly conquered Iberian people are mounting attacks and raids against us, we need to stop them before we lose all of our Iberian holdings
- As Meghdasen takes control of Carthaginians bureaucracy he realized that he doesn't know what he is doing at all! Managing a small chiefdom in the atlas was mostly about force and strategy, but the empire of Carthage is a different beast, with layers and layers of state functions that the Mauritanians can't figure out, learning Punic for all state officials would help Mauritanians modernize and catch up with Carthaginians technology, but it will anger our Berber nobles and won't guarantee the carthagians see us as one of them.

Marco Government: Tribal Kingdom Retinue: King Amos Gentry (LG C, 3), Chancellor Lewis Burton (TN A, 5), Queen Journey Zamora (NE A, 3), High priest Lloyd Harrell (LG A, 7) Religion: Britianic Pantheon Language: Ancient English Economy: Subsistence Agriculture Military: Primitive Issues: Briton Raiders, river floods
- The Britiaci were believed to have arrived at the island of Great Britain in a time long gone, when the isles were still connected by land with the rest of mainland Europe; however it has been shown they arrived at the island just 200 years ago. Originally craftsmen and traders the early Britiaci tribe soon found itself embroiled in constant war with the neighboring Britons tribes, and soon adapted to the environment, becoming feared warriors and being known as smart strategists the Britiaci were smart enough to form their own centralized kingdom that will allow them to repel any and all foreign invasions.
- Briton raids continue, they refuse to let our kingdom prosper and everyday our settlements are burned and our trade routes attack, unless we do something the Britons will push us out of the island.
- Recently the realm laws have changed and power was centralized by king Amos Gentry, this was a bold move and many chiefs are infuriated by this, having lost all their power within the government they have decided to leave the realm and settle in lands outside his authority, this has created a mass exodus of our population, and if the chiefs are not stopped from leaving we will have a severe lack of manpower.
- Rain in this land is constant, it rains so much the rivers flood and re-route their direction, cutting off previously contiguous provinces and causing land fights where there were previously none. Previously each landowner would deal with these problems themselves as food was only for the use of the owner, but now these constant land squabbles are leaving the kingdom with no food, further giving reasons for people to desert and find new lands to settle.
Parthia
Draorn Government: Hereditary Monarchy Retinue: Shah Afshin Hashempour (CN S, 4), Prince Ahmad Alidoosti (LG C, 6), Chancellor Hasti Barbarz (CG B, 4), Fire priest Parisa Haghighi (LE S, 2) Religion: Zoroastrianism, Hellenism Language: Parthian, Greek Economy: Subsistence Agriculture Military: High Classical Issues: War with Seleucids
- The region of Parthia has been home to the Parni people, a group of tribal men under Persian authority for most of their lives which they spent mostly in tranquility and peace, away from the Mesopotamian wars, the Indian campaigns and the intrigue and throne games of the main Persian cities. The relative unimportance of the region soon changed with the arrival of Afshin Hashempour, previously a satrap under Greek command he soon declared the independence of the region of Parthia from the Seleucids after their defeat against Bactrian forces, now the road lays open for him to carve an empire of his own
- We are at war against the Seleucids for our independence
- The kolongulla rose to prominence through a man of legends only known as "Lendauita Kushtan" who as a puissant prince defeated all of his dynastical rivals and all throne usurpers he came across on his path to victory. Many tribes were defeated and joined his cause which prompted the creation of the kingdom of Kolongulia. But now the days of legend are over, and Lendauita's descendants are tasked with maintaining his growing empire
- For many years, the empire has maintained control over huge swaths of land for relatively long periods of time thanks to its decentralized nature, subjects are happy to pay taxes while they maintain a relatively strong autonomy over their region. Chancellor Suna is not happy with this state for the kingdom, and has prepared a plan that will change the way subjects serve us and how much control we have over them as well as change the tribal council with a powerful elected leader, she believes so much in his plan she has taken on public debates giving it regional importance and attracting the hate and opposition of many other chiefs. Chief Kurgowallah stands to gain the most from this as his popularity is very noticeable amongst the people and thus Suna has allied with him to take this proposition and make it real, and with the sudden public showcase of the bill the decision has to be taken now.
i will have a dedicated diplomacy channel on the discord server for the sake of simplicity, but i do not know if all players will actively use discord for this or would prefer some other form of communication
also fixed the lack of ratings on some shangur characters
