Well darn it - this is one of the timelines with the Empire of Texas. I was hoping I could get Northern Mexico instead.
There's probably enough spare geography for Northern Mexico as well? :)

Of course, some might want to speculate about the restoration of...

Comancheria - Wikipedia

(This sounds like it wouldn't be good for the Empire of Texas... Maybe that extends East, and includes what used to be Florida???)

The thing of it all? The collapse of the US has been inevitable since the day it was born, just as the collapse of any nation is inevitable since the day they're born. The when a nation will collapse and die to being just another historical footnote is the big question. Things just seem like they may be coming sooner for us in the US and only time will tell.

But it will happen regardless of whether it happens this year, this decade, or even this century.
Oh no the problem isn't that it might collapse. As you said it happens to most countries or they change so much to only share a name with their previous nation. No the problem is that it seems to be happening in my lifetime while I live in the US.

Also there's this inconvenient thing called climate change which makes the whole 'new nations will take over' part a lot more iffy. Oh, not to mention the WMDs and massive, ever-hungry MIC. And the massive part of the world economy the US consumer economy devourers. And the world reserve currency, which will cause harm if/when it fails even if people move to other currencies. People love to hate on the US (and they have plenty of reason to do so) but the country did a lot of good work for all the harm it had caused.

Nations in the past could collapse because, for the most part, their collapse would have little effect on the rest of the world. Globalization changed that - the fall of the US will bring down the rest of the world as collateral damage.

massive, ever-hungry MIC
MIC - microphone?
Don't know any other meaning, or what a likely TLA this might be...

'Stock-up on pulses and (dried) beans' - that's what the food-security people seem to think is a good idea... I was interested by the Swedish chap who had his own flour grinder, and grain, so he ground flour when he needed it... Grain has a really good shelf-life...

Investing in the better quality solar panels, and the LFP mobile home batteries... Maybe it's time to consider getting a mesh phone app, again, you can side-load... Blow the dust off that old external USB Blu-ray writer drive, and check you've got a good stock of blank media, DVD and a few Blu-ray...

Why? Got to ensure you keep your home A(G)I in good health! :)

I'm guessing "MIC" stands for "Moron In Charge", but I could well be wrong.
Military industrial complex. Catch all term for corporate ecosystem built around military/defense spending. Most often applied to US companies and lobbying, but generally there in every country that want to be militarily imdependent.

Edit: It's usually used in the derogatory, but it depends on the actual topics you're trying to argue. Some basic topics where the term comes up: big government overspending, corporate greed and war profiteering, the near monopoly of a lot the corporations with the top secret classification of the projects, lobbying and corporate interests influencing government policy and budgets. Usually if positive it's used in a somewhat ironic manner or at least acknowledging that it's almost always negative and trying to somewhat reclaim the term. Non-credible defense on reddit likes the term.

Not the whole-grain stuff that still has all of what natural nutrients and vitamins wheat has -- that stuff that gets removed for making all-purpose flour also contains oils which go rancid in a few months in whole wheat flour; I assume it would last longer as still being grain, given the lesser surface area to expose the oils to oxygen, but there's still a shelf life to take into account.

Considering the first Admin (2020) had the problem of COVID-19. I wonder if the next round is on its way, with the employee cuts and money shifting (if funding was pulled back , did the money go back to Treasury or slide sideways to 'other' pockets) . Denial and blame shifting finger pointing in 2020 caused many of the delays for COVID-19 issues (now it's part of a 'common' cold series/set) . ...

Look up the current issues with the Bird Flu, and the threat of it jumping species to directly affect humans.

Alt-Dragon is... interesting. I'd be curious about how the story might move forwards.

Really strange Taylor? Triplicate Girl version, but, original, Asuka and Rei. The latter two being from two different NGE where things have gone... really weird. Asuka can summon/pilot (and probably maintain) Evangelion #2. An AT field ripped-open the locker and someone flew out, so, Rei... Taylor...
(Taylor has a strange spear, of variable appearance, that really likes and is highly protective of her???)

E88 and ABB both trying claim bits of Taylor as their own?

Or none of the above since it's not actually Worm's setting?

I'd say the other way around. Anders is the biotech billionaire whose latest product looks set to become the next thalidomide while Richter's voting machines all returned him in a landslide in a way that is totally not suspicious at all.

AI-enhanced voting machines, that encourage people to vote? Shirley you're not implying they could be biased?

Ya…. Like it would ever go that peacefully.

Frankly considering how much fake crap gets thrown in hour faces basically constantly I imagine it would be extremely difficult for a AI to prove there "real"
