Mongoose is about to do a ring but instead of anything life threatening will do something worse and replace that users pic collection with Facebook memes, truly a fate worse than death.

That's telling a lot on what your secret dice rolls are in the background QM
... You'll see.

You will all see. And there have been no dice rolls thrown for this one.

Your intelligence service is just that good. All that work you put into making it free of papa Palps influence is now finally coming to fruition.

I just have the imagine that one of there top agents is a Butler droid or some kind of home droid that is a bit overly kill happy for some reason.

On the Chancellor's Secret Service Part 1
On the Chancellor's Secret Service Part 1:

You sat at your desk, staring down at the seemingly endless stack of paperwork that had consumed your days and nights. The minutiae of government felt heavier than ever. Every decree, budget allocation, and security report was another link in a chain binding you to the desk. You hadn't slept in two days, but the work demanded you push on. The galaxy didn't stop turning just because its Chancellor needed rest.

Still, it was growing harder to focus. Each scratch of your pen and flick of a datapad brought a sharper annoyance, a more pronounced headache. You had been hoping, even counting on, the arrival of your latest recruits, well… no offered help… the Jedi who were supposed to head the new security team tasked with tracking down this mysterious "Sidius" you kept hearing whispers about. Their arrival, you thought, might give you a chance to breathe, to delegate some of the immense weight crushing you.

Then the Jedi actually arrived.

And with them, your hope for peace and quiet died a swift death.

The problem wasn't that the Jedi had arrived—it was that they had arrived. Plural. Two of them. And they were already driving you mad.

Aayla Secura, the young, vibrant Twi'lek, had all the poise and sharp instincts you might have expected from a Jedi. Except, of course, when she was knocking over priceless artifacts while trying to demonstrate some maneuver to the nearby guards who had retreated outside not to get hurt by her lack of spacial awareness… or her total control of spacial awareness, you didn't know what was worse. Or when she was "helping" by reorganizing your datapads into an order only she could decipher. Making this night last even longer.

Her master, Quinlan Vos, was another matter entirely. If Secura was clumsy in an endearing, almost forgivable way, Vos was an unrepentant chaos-bringer of the highest order, that only say, Kenobi or Anakin were. He lounged on your office furniture as though it were his personal meditation mat, offered cryptic remarks about the state of the galaxy that only served to increase your stress, and, worst of all, asked questions. Not the helpful, solution-oriented questions, but ones that made you reflect on your choices in ways you had no time for.

"You know," Vos had said just the other day, casually twirling his lightsaber hilt like a toy, "a Chancellor who works too hard loses sight of the bigger picture. That's how bureaucracies win, Jar Jar. They grind you down so you don't see what's really important."

At the time, you had stared at him, pen still poised over a budget form, and muttered, "The Republic doesn't run itself, Vos. And I have done a remarkable job running the galaxy thank you very much."

Now, as you watched them both wander your office, Secura darting about with wide-eyed curiosity and Vos leaning against a windowsill as though contemplating the galaxy's mysteries, you couldn't help but feel a growing frustration.

"Do you two always make yourselves at home wherever you go?" you asked, your voice laced with exasperation.

Secura glanced at you, her lekku twitching nervously. "We're just… getting a feel for the place. Observation is key to good security, Chancellor."

Vos smirked, his gaze never leaving the Coruscant skyline. "Besides, it's not like you're using this space to its full potential. All this formality, doesn't it get old?"

You pinched the bridge of your nose. "The only thing getting old is your presence, Vos. If I'd known this is what Jedi assistance entailed, I might've reconsidered."

The pair exchanged a look, and then Secura, in what you assumed was an attempt to be reassuring, said, "We're here to help. You'll see. Once we get going, you'll wonder how you managed without us!"

You didn't doubt that. But as Vos began poking at one of your holo displays and Secura accidentally knocked over yet another decorative vase, you also didn't doubt that their unique brand of "help" might leave you dead. Or worse.

And yet, as chaotic as they were, there was a spark of something undeniable in them. They were reckless, yes, but capable. Frustrating, but determined.

The alarm blared through the halls, its sharp, shrill tone bouncing off the cold durasteel walls. It was a sound no one wanted to hear—a Code 33.

"Oh, Force," you muttered under your breath as chaos erupted around you.

Both Jedi tensed immediately, hands instinctively moving toward their lightsabers. Aayla Secura tilted her head, confusion plain on her face. "What's a Code 33?"

One of the guards scoffed, his irritation barely masked. "Do you not read the briefing packets, child?" he snapped. "It means we have assassin droids on the premises. Dozens of them!"

Quinlan Vos exhaled heavily, the weariness of countless battles flashing briefly across his face. Rolling his neck, he placed a calming hand on his Padawan's shoulder. "Relax, Aayla. We've faced worse." You could see that he had a glint in his eyes… but something else felt wrong, that you didn't know… but something felt off.

The captain of the guard stepped forward, his voice crisp and clipped. "The alarms were triggered when Security Section Team Four failed to report in after the mandatory five-minute window. At that point, the system switched to full automation."

You frowned, your mind already racing ahead. "If the system's automated, does that mean the assassin droids have access to the security grid? What about the rest of the senators? Are they safe?"

"All senators currently in the building have been moved to designated safe zones," the captain replied. "Evacuations are proceeding under Code 31a protocol."

That was something, at least. But it didn't ease the weight pressing on your chest. You glanced at Vos, who was studying the layout of the room with an unsettling calm. Finally, he gave you a curt nod, his face unreadable. "You're coming with us, Chancellor."

You blinked, startled. "But you just said this was-"

Before you could react further, Vos moved like lightning. In one swift motion, he reached out with the Force, pulling the first group of guards off balance and slamming them to the ground. Their weapons clattered uselessly onto the polished floor.

"What are you doing?!" you shouted, panic rising in your voice.

Aayla Secura stepped in with equal precision, her hands raised. With a subtle gesture, she disarmed the guards, their blasters spinning through the air before landing neatly in her grasp. She tossed them aside with a practiced flick of her wrist.

Vos straightened his expression a mix of authority and unshakable confidence. "I said you're coming with us, Chancellor," he repeated, this time leaving no room for argument.

"I have guards for a reason, Jedi!" you retorted, gesturing to the stunned soldiers now groaning on the floor. "Why did you do that?"

Vos smirked faintly. "And they've just been neutralized in less than five seconds because they were going to walk you to your death. as to why, I think that your security team and that of the building are compromised."

"What makes you say that!" You protested.

"Code 33, then a 31a… a 31a is when there is a bomb on the premise, 33 is when there is an active force outside the building but hasn't breached it. Not assassin droids." Vos replied. "Do you not know your own security protocols?"

You then shook your head. "I know they exist!"

There was a frown from Vos. "Right now, the only friends you have right now, are me, and Ayala, and that might dwindle fast, we need to get you out of the building do you know a way?"

What do you do?:

[]Go to the Hanger: The personal shuttle for your office is in the hanger, it should be safe to get moving if you can get there.

[]The Senate offices: The Senate offices have some old elevators that can get to the lower levels. They are quick, but you don't know if they can carry everyone.

[]The Senate Chamber: You think that if you can get the signal going, you can get the army unit that is stationed nearby for help. Sure a call for help on public broadcast seems rather foolish, but the security system cuts off all outgoing communication… except for ironically, the ones that broadcasted the senate hall.

AN: No dice rolls, only some fun choices...

And the Jedi proving they are awesome.

The other two options seem prime material for a trap.

Seems like the best choise, the hangar will be the first place the assassins will lock down and asking for help in public broadcast would reveal our position to everybody plus the assassins may try to do something drastic if cornered by the army.

Vos and Ayala are too fucking good to be played like a damn fiddle.

They already went through that arc.

But hey, look at the bright side.

Anakin and Obi Wan were not given to you.

Imagine the chaos with those two around.

If antyhign these two are worse, I fully expect the Senate catch fire with them around.

. . . . . . . . . . . The Senate Guard. . . . . . . must. . . . . . . be. . . . . PURGED. . . . . . . . . . .

REBUILT AND RETRAINED FROM THE GROUND UP........

And are we SURE these assassins won't think to check the elevators in the Senate offices?

It sounds like all three options have drawbacks to them....

DAMMIT....

Well then this would be interesting, though won't Palpatine have some form of schematics of all systems in the Senate, like say the building schematics even the old ones?

And after this can we agree that for the next legislation turn, we are going to go full reformation on the Republic commando and Senatorial guard after this latest assassination attempt. I can imagine that Jar Jar has just enough of this nonsense of assassination attempts.

And besides let's also consider how Quinlan Vos handles his work as a Jedi shadow so he must have some experience with the lower levels and such for investigations.

Definitely not the hangar, that's prime assassin bait, with the only question being whether we'd arrive to find assassins waiting for us or a bomb on the shuttle.

They should be big enough for three people. Although I do wonder just how far down those elevators go if they can reach the lower levels, like do they reach down to level 9000, 8000 definitely not level 1313.

Assuming it has not been rigged with explosives this seems like a good idea.

Edit: Changing my vote lets make it live across galaxy.

Ships bombed obviously so that's a no go, calling for help doesn't make sense considering we couldn't be sure whoever arrived would actually be there to help us, so that only really leaves one option.

Suck in that gut Jar Jar, this is gonna be a tight squeeze.

Edit: Vote changed due to others pointing out, quite rightly, that Sideous has gotten his grubby hands over everything so any point of egress has probably already been planned for.

The Attempted Assassination will be televised!

Obviously, all other routes are known and have been planned for by Sidious; so do something crazy and unexpected. Make it public and call for help.
