Moonlight Sonata (Hellsing/Devil May Cry Quest)

The coffee in your mug swirled as you added sugar to it. You noticed ripples formed in the mug, a distant rumbling began to shake the cafe. The coffee sprayed on your shirt as the ground below you exploded into debris.
You rolled away before cursing, that coffee was extremely hot. Your eyes met the angel that tore up the ground. "Hey bird man!" you shouted in it's direction. It continued to walk forward, ignoring you. You put a stop to that once your drop kicked it across the street. "This shirt was worth a good chunk of change jackass!" you roared in annoyance as you pulled out your magnums. You decided to try out your new toy as well.

These bloody fake-angels! How they dare to stain our clothes! Good to see they can't catch a break, not even in this universe.

The crimson combat pack was more useful to you than you realized at first. You were able to hold a multitude of items within it easily. Not only that, special grenades formed inside of it, they exploded into a large blaze of black fox fire.

I wonder where he got that. From an Umbrella sponsored subsidiary company? Either way, we need lots of bullshit if we're hoping to be able to stand a chance against foes such as Dante and Shelucard. Magic is one of the easiest ways to get instant bullshit from nowhere. Plus it doesn't run out of ammo.

[X] Bayonetta began teaching you the basics of magic.

At best, we'll get strong enough to force Femlucard to release one of her seals... Which still won't be enough, but good enough for a human.

Guys remember that Umbra Witches magic is basically selling your soul to the demons so you can later summon them, I also want to learn magic, but there is surely ways to get magic that doesn't involve losing our soul so early in the quest

While I believe this is true according to what was said in Bayonneta 1 (blame Nintendo for stealing the sequel so they actually had one good game for themselves), I doubt it will apply for ourselves. To start, it's unlikely she can teach us Witch magic even if she wanted to, she mentioned she detected something about the protagonist which reminded her of a Lumen Sage. As such, chances are her spells would not be compatible with us anyway (perhaps we'll have to sell our soul to these angels instead? :p). Lastly, the key point is: the basics of magic. It would be quite grimderp and silly if casting Magic Missile or Light required you to sell your soul for such minor effects.

"I roll magic missile and sell my soul for +2 dexterity."

Yeah, definitely won't be learning Umbran Witch magic or selling your soul. But it isn't the only kind of magic that exists. Selling your soul for power is definitely far above just basic spells and such.

Even then Bayonetta would probably stop you from doing something she thinks you'll regret.

It's the Demon Arms we got from the Kitsune.

Makes sense. However, wasn't Nero the one who did the final blow? Why didn't he get the weapon instead? Not that I'm rejecting it or anything. Just asking.

EDIT: Btw @Dreamland, I suggest that one of the tags for this thread is "She-Alucard is stalking you" or "Femlucard is interested in you". Just for funsies (and it is technically true, to boot).

What Is A Man

[X] Bayonetta had her friend Jeanne improve your combat techniques.

Nero yawned as he entered the church. Reporting to a superior was always a drag, especially his.

"Ah, lad. Ye' have returned." a bespectacled man with short blonde hair greeted. Nero watched as he sent the children to their chores. Nero sat down at one of the pews, legs laid across the one infront of him as he made himself comfortable.

A moment later and the man took a seat next to him. "Father Anderson." Nero greeted as he continued to keep his eyes shut.

"Nero, are ye' eating right? Ye' seem to be getting scrawnier every time I see ye'." Father Anderson brought up with a laugh.

Nero snorted, Father Anderson thought all of the children who fell under his care didn't eat enough. "Three square meals a day, and I make sure to splurge on smoothies."

Father Anderson was silent. "Does it hurt ye', lad?" he asked as Nero's demonic arm was held between his fingers. "It's not the work of our lord, it's demonic as sin." Nero felt a small relief as Anderson's hand glowed a bright white. "It's eatin' away at ye' lad. Soon enough it will devour ye' whole."

"Then I can trust you in destroying the monster I become from it, Father." the young man waved off the man of faith. This was nothing new, Father Anderson always fretted over the small stuff.

"Ye' walk the valley of the shadow of death, Nero. Remember his teaching so ye' may find ye' way to the light." Father Anderson stood up as he looked at the stained glass windows.

"Yeah, Yeah." Nero agreed, even though he skipped bible study, Father Anderson never gave up a moment to remind him of his words.

"Come now." Father Anderson hoisted the young man onto his feet. "I have stew cooking right now, the children will be delighted to see one of The Holy Knights again. They look up to ye', lad."

Nero scoffed but followed obediently. Even without having to see Anderson he would come back to this place anytime he could. When you're an orphan you had very little in the way of options.

He would make sure the children knew they had a place in this world.

You exhaled as your body hovered close to the ground before pushing yourself back up. You repeated the motion, continuing your push ups as Jeanne sat on your back. A flick of a page signaled she was still reading that magazine since you started.

You grunted but kept your mouth shut. It's been around three months since you learned very fast that Jeanne was a harsh instructor, and she wasn't a pushover. Your jaw still ached after the beating she gave you.

You were a bit frustrated that Bayonetta simply dumped you on Jeanne, but the witch in red was an excellent teacher. You've already felt more in tuned with your body than ever before.

"Still have two hundred more to go, love." another turn of a page. "Are you giving up?" her tone was mocking and it grated on you.

"No way." you said as you continued the exercise. "Something like this can't even wind me, you're weight is not even enough." you exclaimed with a large exhale.

You nearly dropped as you felt an elbow to the ribs. "Is that so?" long silver locks came into the edge of your sight, down to your shoulders. "You know just what say to make a lady feel fit, Michael." Another turn of the magazine.

Jeanne…

She was using you as a lounge chair!

You calmed yourself down, getting angry would only increase the work you had to do. Holding yourself and Jeanne steady, you continued your exercise.

From your training you felt...

[ ] A higher endurance.

[ ] You had to be careful with your strength.

[ ] The wind had to catch up with you.

What happened next?

[ ] Jeanne took you to a meeting, something about an organization that protects England from the supernatural or something.

[ ] You spotted a man with silver hair and a blue long coat. You wouldn't let him out of your sight.

As a human, our endurance will always be our weakest trait compared to the monsters in the world, let's improve that.
