Mobile Suit Gundam: Colliding Stars (Sign Up/Recruiting)

Well, my concern is that the ReZEL is already like nine years old before the RP even begins. Eventually, I'm going to need to get a new mech, preferably one that also has hacking abilities to fit with my character's archetype. Perhaps a completely original design, or a cyberwarfare gundam?

Mate mines 25 years old lol.

Mine is garbage. Without its upgrades its basically just above chaff that Zeon pumps out to clog the gears of the Federations gundams.

Aaaaannnndddd done i'm getting the Mk-III later in the RP for now once we get some more earth federation players and official start i'm going to be using a extremely upgraded Zaku-II. @Genon don't worry about the age of the suit thats what upgrades are for, you could always just have it made into an Mk-II or what you said a original design.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but the last time I was part of a war roleplay where there were players on both sides, the GM planned on making us face a mutual threat, though he never got that far. Now, that isn't how Gundam works, but how will the war be conducted? It's not like we're facing a nebulous threat, each major enemy is a person's character. By the end of the roleplay, one side is going to get beaten into submission, and that seems a little cruel. How do these things usually work?

Well I was thinking about taking it one major battle at a time. Like the earth federation at first is going to be hunting the Sons of Zeon down trying to find them as they go from colony to colony hiding using the captured command ship as their temporary command center. Kind of like the hunt for the white base in the first gundam, Zeon did everything they could to cut them off from rejoining the Federation on earth. Their is fleet on both sides engaging in the background that will be called on occasionally, thats how they'll make it back to earth to do attack runs and land engagements. But the meat of the story will be the back and forth the two forces, their will be major events, and a possible threat that grew from within one or both sides that requires both to stop before the war ends.

Also good news finally "decided" on a combat system, I've gone with a more traditional DnD styled system that I think will work well for this RP (its back on the first page). If we have problems with it, I can always adjust it. Now alls we need now are more earth federation players and were golden.

Basic Combat in this RP

Attack: 1d5 x 10
1 x 10= 10
Gene's Zaku reached back pulled out its beam halberd and rushed the enemies mobile suit with it

Defense: 1d5 x 10
3 x 10= 30

The enemy mobile suit met Gene's halberd with its beam saber in a clash and began pushing back.

Ability points: 1d20 x 5

19 x 5= 95/100
95-10=85/100
Gene activated his Zaku's back mounted side arms
Ninjamaster227 threw 2 5-faced dice. Reason: 1 Total: 4
1 1 3 3
Ninjamaster227 threw 1 20-faced dice. Reason: 1 Total: 19
19 19

Still a bit rough but this is what it will look like, with MANY character/story bit in between of course...After doing a dry run I think it would be wise to raise the attack/defense die to 1D8 or 1D10 just to balance things out. Which is what I just did on the first page. You only need to spend the ability points once to activate the equipment (beam saber, heavy weapon, funnels, rifles) then it becomes part of the next attack roll. Also of course when directly attacking another player the one being attacked must wait for the attackers roll, so they can create a post and edit accordingly (unfortunately dice roll only done after a post is made so unless I can think of a better system this will require using EDIT a lot)

Also the defense roller is allowed a counter attack roll regardless of wether they successful blocked, dodged, etc. Otherwise they'll never get a chance to attack lol. So the waiting policy comes into play again. I don't see this being a problem once the RP hits its stride.

Looks cool, I'd like to try my hand out as an EF grunt. Time to get eviscirated on my first combat mission and all that xD

Well if you're hurting for more EF pilots, I'm willing to toss my name into the ring.

Though I take it we're going to kep away from anything Mobile Armor like so the Psycho Gundam is right out...

Well since nobody else has suggested it, the Byarlant Custom would be a nice choice. It is an outdated suit, but with a few upgrades it can trounce most things being fielded like a pro.

If not we could try some other post Titan designs like the Xeku Eins Type 3 Loadout, since it's one of the few suits that really gets the fact that a good way to bypass Newtype dodging is to fire more bullets. Unless we want to go old school and pick up a GM Spartan. Or there's the Refined Barzam, the commander variant has a Linear Launcher which might make a good sniper or Mobile Armor killer.

And if you want to leanr about my Gundam collection...

If we need more pilots for the federation, I'll switch sides and make a fed profile.

Just throwing it out there. Not my favorite option, but I'd rather play a fed than let this rp die because we couldnt get enough pilots.

Pssssst... Zeta Plus or ReZEL Defenser FTW.

Lets not do that just yet we just need three more Fed players to join, and I think we can get them. I'm certainly not going to let this RP die.

Sure that would be great if you could make a Fed character

Now for something i've been working on all day one of the GM characters I will also be using to move plot around mawahahahaha

GM: Character
Name: ???
Code Name: Enigma Z (Unless I think of a better name)
Gender: ??? (Believed to be male)
Age: ??? (At least over 26+)
Appearance:
Race: Newtype (Allegedly)
Weapons: Two hidden spring loaded pistols under his sleeves, and a combat knife on his leg
Mobile Suit/Vehicle: ???
Mobile Suit's armament: ???
Affiliation: Leader of the Son's of Zeon
Personality: Serious, cold, quiet, passionate, calculating, intelligent, cunning, and enjoys a very dry sense of humor.
Backstory: The self proclaimed leader of the Sons of Zeon's past is a reflection of his name a blank slate wrapped in mystery. Hardly anyone can say for certain who, what, or where this now titanic figure is in this war has come from. Only two things can honestly be confirmed; one that he has begun this "righteous" battle in the name of all spacenoids and former Zeons. And that he claims to be a veteran of the one year war, made clear in his declaration of war speech to the earth federation during the first strike on earth.

He claims to be a man of the people crying out for all fellow spacenoids to take arms against their common enemy, and oppressors the earth federation. They can't allow themselves to be symbolically dragged down and crushed by gravity like the federation has. He has spent the last decade picking up some of the thousands of piece of the once great Zeon Empire, and rebuilding them into a form spaceoids could be proud of again.

Much like his predecessor Full Frontal, Enigma Z wears his mask not just to hide his identity, but also as a symbol. They aren't acting for their own goals, none of the Son's of Zeon are, they are doing what they must to bring their homeland back to its rightful place of glory and pride. The mask serves to reflect the will of all Spacenoids, and that anyone with the desire to stand and fight for what they believe in could be the leader of such a group.

After nearly a decade of forming bonds and alliances in the shadows, and maneuvering through the battlefield of politics, many people in the colonies have begun to praise this mysterious figure for taking one last stand for Zeon. Support of weapons, mobile suits, and ships have been "donated" to the cause. Now while not the latest most powerful models, and having a large force of young volunteers this fleet has proven that they will not be ignored by the Federation. The attack on earth showed that loud and clear. The call has gone out, and even "some" of the strictly neutral colonies have at least let them dock for a few day/weeks to lick their wounds and resupply. This tactician has spent to long to see everything he's built go down in flames, even if the great goal of politics and support has to remove him from actual combat for a different battlefield.
