    You end up staying in the Matoi mansion itself of all places. It's nice for sure, but it does make you feel homesick from time to time. Thank goodness you have little Ryuko to distract you. She tries to hide it, but it's painfully easy to see that opposite Ryuko is a very lonely girl.

    You suppose you'll just have to help however you can with that issue. She doesn't deserve to go through her entire childhood alone, nobody really does.

    You sit down by Ryuko on a bench in the port. The two of you have started exploring during your times off, mostly because you don't have much else to do, and you don't like seeing kids wander around without someone to escort them.

    She turns to look at you "Say Emirah, you ever just go to parks to enjoy the scenery?'

    You nod "Yeah……my sisters were never any good so I'd often wonder off by myself to get the extra distance from them."

    Ryuko leans back in thought "So what was it like having sisters anyway."

    "I'm probably not the best example for that." You say wincing "My two sisters where less sisters and more bullies that I had to live with, I hated them both until the day they died."

    "Wow" She says, a small amount of sorrow entering her voice. "…….that couldn't have been easy."

    "Eh" You say "You had nothing to do with it, and I had a decent mother."

    Ryuko blinks "So what was she like?"

    "She had a bit in common with your dad." You say back "Between all her work and trying to keep the twins off my back she didn't actually have a lot of free time to spend with me personally, but she did her best to make every moment count, so I'd say she did a pretty good job with the hand she was given."

    Ryuko just shrugs "If you say so"

    A light grunt escapes your lips "Yeah………but I still wound up with waaaaaaay too much free time on my hands."

    "That I can understand" Ryuko grunts "So…..how did you deal with it?"

    You chuckle nervously. "I used to go beat up thugs. My experience with my sisters left me with a bad taste for those kinds of bully's."

    "I don't have sisters like yours." Ryuko begins "But I've had enough run in's with stupid thugs to know that they aren't ever any good."

    Yep" you say "The fact that they always underestimating a person because their girl doesn't help matters ether."

    Ryuko nods "Yep, Total idiots every last one of them……….Want to do something else later."

    "Well see" you say back "I'll be happy to go if I have the time."

    Well those local life fibers aren't getting any less disturbing. It's probably about time you got to investigating them.

    Your investigation starts out as a rather distant thing. After all you don't know much about these life fibers, so you'll have to understand them better before you can try and figure out more about the guys who are supplying the stupid things.

    Mom told you once that all blue life fibers have some sort of telepathy with each other, although it can't affect humans to any extent like most movie telepathy could. What blue life fiber telepathy can do however is analyze other strains of life fibers, a fact that your mother passed onto you from the primal blue life fiber.

    So the first step is to make sure nothing to funky is going on with telepathy.

    ………..hmmm from a distance you can definitely feel some mental alterations going on in the people wearing them…………how disgusting.

    Other than that the telepathy going on for them isn't much better than that of your blue life fibers go. They have to be in close contact to have any impact on the human mind, and they don't appear to be sending anything back to some kind of source. Your blue fibers should be able to overpower them without any trouble.

    However from what your distance observations show the things grow like fast compared to your blue ones. Well at least compared to your blue ones when they have to subside off of human blood. You have no idea how fast a blue life fiber can grow when it has time to feed off of other life fibers.

    This is going to be fun.

    You spend a lot of time training Ryuko. She's a pretty decent fighter herself but she's definitely still figuring things out, and she probably won't come into her own as a hybrid for a long time. Especially since she doesn't even know she is a life fiber hybrid. Still you help her best you can, and she's definitely making improvements when all else is said and done.

    Hopefully it'll be enough when the time comes.

    An amused smile adorns your face as you look down at Ryuko's panting form.

    "I see you've been working hard." You say as you sit down on the mansions front lawn next to her.

    "Why……do you…..have so much energy." She asks you between gasps for breath. "It's like you never run out."

    "I got lucky with my genetics." You reply bluntly. "

    "Those are some….good genetics." She wheezes looking at you with a small amount of admiration in her eyes "You have to be the toughest person I know."

    You chuckle "Heh thanks……..but I have a feeling you'll get just as good with time."

    "Really" she asks as some hopefulness joins her admiration. "That means a lot coming from you."

    "Yes really" you answer "You definitely have the spirit needed if nothing else"

    "Thanks…for the vote of confidence." She blushes slightly under you complement before deciding to change the subject. "Say you know when where going to eat?"

    "I'll get something started for you now." You say standing up and then bending down to help her up "You've more than earned it."

    You continue your investigation of the red life fibers. Now that you've gotten the basic principles behind them down you feel more confident in investigating the actual company producing them.

    What you find is pretty shocking. Apparently this REVOCS Corporation has a near total hold over clothing markets across the globe, with only a few company's being able to stand against them. Even worse life fiber mental alternation keeps most people from actually noticing how bad this is, and the few people in positions of power with enough resistance to fight off the life fiber's spell are more often than not quietly assassinated. Mind you the assassinations are really well concealed, but you know an assassination when you read about one, and most of the well-known deaths are on the ball.

    The worst part of all is that if differences between this world and back home are consistent, than you have a good idea of who's behind it too………this world's version of your mother.

    You…….you don't want to think about this at the moment.

    You really don't.

    Better to think about beating up your counterpart or something, she's almost certainly working for REVOC and since you seemed to go back in time in addition to being dropped on another world you should be much more experiences.

    …..still………..you aren't looking forward to this.

    "Hey Ryuko." You say walking up to her as you finish up your jobs at the mansion "How was your day at school?"

    "I lived." Your young charge said dropping her bags into a corner. "But I had to take the long way home to avoid some assholes that where giving me trouble though."

    "Assholes you say?" is you response as you pause to think for a moment "Did you try kicking the stuffing out of them?"

    "Didn't feel like it." She grunters "I just figured I'd be happier walking the extra time it took me to go around them than I would be fighting them at the moment."

    "That works too." You admit "Not quite my first choice mind you…………..I would have beaten them up myself."

    "Violence is your answer to everything though." Ryuko reply's flatly "There are other ways to solve your problems."

    "Really" you say playfully "I'd always though the non-violent approach was just a myth spread by dirty hippies in an attempt to deceive us."

    Ryuko doesn't chuckle, but she does crack a smile showing that she knows you just funning with her "Yep, I know it's a shocker isn't it."

    "I know." You begin "Anyway I'm done with my duties for the day so we can pretty much just hang out. You wanna just go play some catch?"

    "Sure" she says her smile still present on her face "I could use for a good game of catch. I mean it's not like I have anything else to do."

    "Alright than let's go!" you say happily as you head out the door and into the mansions yard, with a somewhat eager Ryuko following close behind.

    It's these moments that you like the most. The small ones where you just get to have fun with someone else. They just have this way of easing all the stress you find yourself under, and when you're in an entirely new world, you wind up picking up a lot of stress.

    …………….also Ryuko is adorable when she runs around trying to catch the ball.
