[X] The Penitent Gunslinger

Being a walking apocalypse sounds like a pretty good survival strategy in 40k.

How could we not want the ability to guarantee... 'loyalty', in those we associate with?
Or, even better, become a perpetual by studying Vulcan? full on psudo-deity by simply consuming deific and spiritual powers and abilities from all across the cosmos while making unbreakable deals?
Hell, imagine how much we could get from the mechanicus or navis nobilite simply by acting as a 'neutral' third party that can ensure any deal's terms are met, and get paid in esoteric tech, favors, and abilities?

Aw c'mon people, doesn't putting the fear of us into our enemies with the Penitent Gunslinger sound more fun than doing diplomacy with the Scribe?
Not sure what else to say that I haven't already to get more gun votes.
I mean this is why I'm voting scribe. Templar would be my preference but doing beurocracy and diplomacy and stuff while show trailing the nobility sounds really fun, and a lot more interesting then guy who shoots people really well and a lot

Are you a bureaucracy-pilled state-maxxer? Vote Scribe.

Are you fun? Vote Gunslinger.

No but really, there are already quests out there about doing statebuilding in the 40k setting. Plenty of them. Most of them have the playerbase try to make their state as not-horrible as they can. I really don't feel like Scribe is actually bringing much new to the table here, other than more great Maugan Ra writing.

There are depressingly few quests about going around murderizing assholes in the 40k setting, though. Gunslinger would actually be something novel.

If you want to play Shooty McGun, there are any number of video games - including a number of 40k ones! - where you can do just that. Let's do something video games aren't geared towardsinstead.

Gunslinger or scribe winning is a coin toss for me.

Just finished watching Alita Battle Angel and Gunmetal city sounds a lot like Iron City and I've been listening to Gonna Need A Grave, which would fit the theme. Also, a mix of cyberpunk and western is always a big draw for me.

But I've also gotten into fae mythology and I like the idea of making deals and bargains with spirits.

[X] The Contemptuous Scribe

Eh, screw it:
WillfulTimes threw 1 2-faced dice. Reason: 1. Gunslinger 2. Scribe Total: 2
2 2

Scribe seems more like a demonologist than bureaucrat to me, TBH. Deals are only enforced with supernatural beings (otherwise it just tells on you), and it has the ability to learn powers from supernatural beings. I wonder what a Machine Spirit can teach...

Man, not that I hate the concept of the Scribe, but there's already so many quests out there where the focus is shaping the world through the power of bureaucracy and diplomacy. I would like to go do a quest where you're a badass cowboy gunslinger with no name bringing justice by shooting evil in the face.
