[x] I guess I can lift and carry stuff. Chop wood? I don't know, I feel active.

Let me take another shot at this.

How much do we (the thread) know about our skills in these areas again? (I know a lot of it is stuff we might not know explicitly in-character but ooc i've entirely forgotten what skills we've demonstrated other than a surprising familiarity with the nature of our injuries a couple of updates ago.

Demon Scouting: Vesper hasn't demonstrated any particular talent for riding, but she does seem to have a knack for befriending weird things like figureheads and sword pommels so maybe she would get on okay with a demon. Her navigation skills have also been a bit suspect, mainly for comedic effect. Her senses have been consistently excellent, though they have shown to be partiuclarly sharp in the fields of (non-social) situational awareness and kinetic reactivity.

Engineering: Although Vesper has never really demonstrated the talent for making things, her Craft has repeatedly demonstrated a familiarity with how things are made, so it's safe to assume she has at least some skill in this area.

Lifting Things: Vesper is pretty strong and has demonstrated incredible endurance, so she'd almost certainly be an excellent laborer.

Doctoring: Like craft, she hasn't demonstrated any active ability in medicine or care, but she has consistantly demonstrated an extensive knowledge of anatomy that indicates some kind of medical training.

Mechanically, Sagacity is at a +3, Awareness and Physique at +2, and Craft at +0. Don't worry too much about that though, I want people to vote on what will be fun to pursue rather than what we can roll best at.

Also with exalted healing I assume our broken arm(s) will be okay soon enough that the third option is even possible?

A nightstick fracture like Vesper's will heal within about six weeks, as an Exalt it would be a matter of days. She'll be able to use the hand as soon as the swelling goes down though. Her right arm is more complicated but probably won't be more than a week. Exalts don't just heal fast, they have low-key regenerative powers that protect them against permanently debilitating injuries short of actually missing body parts.

Note that Mei said to select a duty to do after she recovers.

Did we ever find out our name from Mei?

No.

Hearing we have a +3, changing my vote. Also, this means more Iris, and I like this lady lmao

[X] I'm pretty good with anatomy, I think. I could help out here.

The Government officials shall toil for the people. All other work is too elitist smh.

Was torn between making stuff and fixing people as thematic counterpoints to Vesper's history of violence, but it looks like one of those is a lot more likely to win.

[X] I've got good eyes. I could ride a demon, like your sorcerer suggested.

I'm voting this mostly so we can start getting heresy thoughts about demons!

Doctor Vesper to the rescue!

I actually forgot to update my notes after the last couple of thoughts. Craft is +1, Sagacity is at +2 and Physique is at +4. Sorry about that.

I doubt this information will cause the mass vote change required to switch to laborer rather than surgeon, but I'll leave voting open for another few hours just in case, I don't want to have been misleading.

"I'm pretty good with anatomy, I think. I could help out here."

Mei looks around and considers this.

MEI: "Trying to turn back the wheel a little, are we? Isn't it a little late for that?"

"I've got time."

She makes a noncommital sound in response to that.

MEI: "Fine. It'll keep you busy, at least. I heard someone saying you were stealing hammers yesterday."

"I think she technically gave me that hammer."

MEI: "Hrm. I'll set you up as a brevet specialist. You answer to officers of talon and above, but you don't give anyone orders, got it?"

"I wasn't going to."

MEI: "Feh! I suppose I should give you an aide."

"An aide?"

MEI: "A helper. Someone to run around and deliver your messages, fetch your laundry, that sort of thing. Can't have you stumbling around like a beggar demanding help from sympathetic passersby all the time."

"Who's my aide?"

MEI: "Gods preserve me from ruinous decisions. I have to pick some poor sap to put up with you. You know what, why don't you pick? It's usually someone young so they get a bit of experience out of the combat rotation, but it could be anyone."

You consider your options.

[ ] Brindle, from Fincher's unit.
[ ] Toothsome, from Fincher's unit.
[ ] Feathers, the engineer.
[ ] Lily, from Colter's unit.
[ ] Cinnamon, Logris' aide.
[ ] Can I get Fincher?
[ ] Anyone? I pick you.
[ ] Actually I'd rather you picked someone.

This is a consequential decision, please vote.

[X] Anyone? I pick you.

What does she mean by "trying to turn back the wheel"?
Every life taken, one crank of the wheel towards damnation.

Every life saved, one crank of the wheel towards salvation.

To think she could ever save enough lives to make up for those taken is proof conclusive that Vesper has truly lost her memory.

[X] Cinnamon, Logris' aide.

Tempted to go with Lily based on her recent aid and our short-term memory, or Mei for the memes, but Cinnamon's been pretty consistently nice and helpful no matter what weirdness we're up to at the moment - from the cliff to the post-tree medical tent. She seems decent at rolling with the punches, and, uh... Vesper's Vesperness. Kinda necessitates that.
