How much do we (the thread) know about our skills in these areas again? (I know a lot of it is stuff we might not know explicitly in-character but ooc i've entirely forgotten what skills we've demonstrated other than a surprising familiarity with the nature of our injuries a couple of updates ago.

Also with exalted healing I assume our broken arm(s) will be okay soon enough that the third option is even possible?

Also also Mei getting shit from Iris is so cute and I was hoping someone would put their foot in their mouth and comment on having Vesper's clothes sent to Mei's tent

Did we ever find out our name from Mei?

Are there deeper mechanics that we players whould benefit from knowing about here, like; is this akin to choosing stats?

Or is purely narrative as in it is setting up context of where the MC and what she is doing as the next part starts?

I like building stuff, so I'm wondering if the second option will help make preparations/weapons to help this group better fend off future attacks.

i'm not the QM obviously but i think it's less clear cut than that. so far what we recall and retain (or regain the use of) of our abilities has been based on random association and jumping off the deep end in the relevant area.

Well, for the eyes we managed to see the waterfall we met our reflection and found our chest at from pretty far away, if we're physically capable enough to do all our combat stuff so we can probably apply that to basic grunt work, you already know pretty much all of our qualifications for helping the medics, and I think we used some construction skill when we snuck into the armory to steal our gear.

[X] I'm pretty good with anatomy, I think. I could help out here.

Mostly because Iris seems like a fun character and I want to hang out with her more, and Fincher is a trained surgeon as well so we could hang with her when she is released from the brig.

Each of the suggested jobs roughly correspond to abilities, but this is not a mechanical decision, you're voting on the job that Vesper asks for going forward.

[X] I know how to make stuff. Maybe I could help out the engineers?

making stuff is good and fun. also, Rooster's an engineer, and i like Rooster.

Vesper survived for hours without a heart and what's this? A guy having heart troubles right by her bathside? Clearly she can help

[X] I've got good eyes. I could ride a demon, like your sorcerer suggested.
Our eyes are very good.

[X] I guess I can lift and carry stuff. Chop wood? I don't know, I feel active.

It's either engineering or surgery, for me. For all that Vesper is a horrifically effective killing machine once she gets going, she seems quite sick of actually inflicting that on people. Demon-riding might lead to some neat sights, and wood-chopping's more repetitive nature might give us some more time alone with our thoughts (once we figure out how to work around our arms, at least), but I'm thinking it's better to lean into something that purposefully creates instead of destroys - even if surgery would still likely be likened to the far less constructive people-cutting she's done and the engineering would most likely involve weapons of war.

So, in the end, my decision between those two comes down to Craft's voice being adorable and us having neglected them, lately.

I've changed my mind. I don't think it's possible to shock Iris. She's mouthing off to Mai right now.

As scout, we get first access to things early in the narrative, see threats before they appear, and can go places easier on a mount. I think it's the most useful one going forward.
