Personally i just don't want to redo Skyrim again and fallout is a rather rare setting for quests. Plus there wouldn't be much of a reason to visit it later on.

I love these quests, and can't wait to see how it goes.
 
My only reason for choosing Skyrim over either of the Fallouts is that I'm somewhat worried that a focus on supertech over inherent powers or magic would lead to questions of what to carry when cluttering up the voting process.

Admittedly part of my logic was also due to forgetting some of the weirder parts of the setting that the player never gets access to but clearly exist and Headway would let us acquire.

There's psychic powers in Fallout if I remember correctly. The Forecaster in NV being the example people might be familiar with.

There's lots of cool stuff off-screen in Tamriel also, of course. Redguard sword-techniques that require a sword made out of pure thought, different kinds of dragons, quasi-Japanese snake-people...

Their environmental storytelling is good. The actual setting removes like all the potential nuance. Compare the kinda xenophobic Knights Templar BoS from the original games with the squeaky clean Paladins on the East coast, or how their raiders are somewhere between incoherent Mad Max rejects and Borderlands Psychos

That is more of a gameplay and story segregation.
The mad max rejects are basically explicitly going against the established lore canon in order to make for a more hacky slashy gameplay. Hence my saying that their setting is better than their games.
Also their side quests tend to be badly written too.
 
In my opinion, the height (low?) in terms of blandness was Oblivion. It was just so...dull. Coming into it from Morrowind was horrible, honestly. FO3 is a bit to bleak in it's dullness for my tastes, but Skyrim was a big improvement. Not perfect, but better.
