Magical Girl Flesh Horror~!

I just finished catching up with this. Really enjoyed everything so far! The mix of magical girl and biohorror is inspired, and I love how complex and fleshed out the world is. :V

-First, the ghost will have finished exploring the underground, that's two biomass free.
I did want to note that I don't think underground exploration gets biomass anymore now that the exploring unit doesn't have the 'lithotoph' keyword.

Speaking of energy sources… I wonder if it would be possible to tunnel straight down to try n get to some geothermal energy? Though I suppose that the one district distance limit would apply in a sphere so it might not be practical to go far enough down…

I did want to note that I don't think underground exploration gets biomass anymore now that the exploring unit doesn't have the 'lithotoph' keyword.

The biomass in question was the two invested in the ghost. Unfortunately, the QM reminded me that we weren't as close to finishing exploring the underworld as I thought.

Act One - Part Nine: Please Stand By
After all the events of yesterday, you settle in to do some maintenance. You're going to get some things done. First things first, Scout is reabsorbed, your bulk stripping you of parts even as you slim yourself down, turning off the parts of yourself that have been focused on growing and spying and focusing their mass on other things. You carefully peel out Super Spy's charm necklace you got from Sabrina, and inlay it into yourself, coating it with protective layers of flesh, even as you feel its warmth settle into your core, offering slight protection from harm to all the pieces of yourself, near and far (Shield), even as another arm slowly pulls out the snake skin that had been feeding you power. Super Spy's toolset is stripped out and recycled, turned into more instruments for the song deep within you.

With that song burning in your ears, you set about your work. The Tree of Abundance lugs yourself downstairs, perception-altering fields keeping you from awakening Martin, even as you craft a new skin for yourself that will allow you to reflect light in beautiful patterns, creating illusions and distractions that will further aid you in avoiding detection (Light Manipulation). Meanwhile, your ghost-self becomes the subject of your experiments with soul-stuff, after the accidental pushing of Super Spy. You try to tinker not with adding soul stuff, but with where the place the soul…ought to be? You think? It's strange, but you think you manage to make it work, which, in your opinion, is quite impressive, considering that the Underground Ghost does not have a physical existence. In the end, you seem to be able to detect magic and discern what type of magic is being performed (Magic Analysis). You immediately set to trying it out. It detects SHIELD from the shield charm, FLESH MAGICAL GIRL ERROR LOVE ERROR JUSTICE ERROR ERROR ERROR from yourself, which seems about right, and PERCEPTION MENTAL PHYSICAL from the vague direction of your Tree-self.

With all that out of the way, you set to creating some new things, which is always the most exciting part. First, you throw together some vague concepts you've had in your head. Something with roots, since the tree doesn't have them, and you have all that free underground space. It'll make you able to gain biomass from the ground…if it stays in the same place (Roots). Ah, but that'd be too boring by itself! You've been thinking - The underground's a messy place! It needs a bit of cleaning. You can start with that forgotten graveyard - They built over it, after all, so it's really more of a 'finder's keepers' situation, but with rotting wood and human bones! You won't eat the bones, of course, you'll keep them and maybe use them for something? Yeah, that's for sure. Anyways, you can eat the wood. And mostly any kind of rotting organic matter (Saprotrophic). Wow, you sure do feel thirsty - Or, rather, the you who is being created does! Hastily, you wrap the whole bundle of fleshy roots and vaguely fungoid-rot into a snakeskin bundle, and roll yourself out into the tunnels to start working. The snakeskin will make sure nothing's too rotten or discarded to recycle efficiently (Keyword: Refresh).

Anyways, after that, you get to work on the really good idea you had. You're going to figure out how to help Martin! With all the lessons you've learned, you set to work on one of your greatest creations yet. The Autodoc! So, you've been on a real plant kick lately, and you've had a brilliant idea. What better way is there to get a feel for someone, to diagnose them, then to plant yourself inside of them? Walk a mile in their shoes! So, you labor over packing everything you'll need into a fun little seed that you can give Martin! It's got all the bells and whistles - From mundane diagnoses and bodily analysis (Diagnostician) to its very own soul sensor and complementary brain matter (Soul Diagnostician) and, best of all, some miniature vocal cords, so you can talk to him while you're analyzing his body (Reassuring)! In the end, your wonderful Autodoc is done, an easily swallowable seed of flesh and veins, compact and full of goodness! You test it out, popping yourself down into Super Spy and letting it analyze your asset. Hm…nothing physically wrong with it, but you know that! The faint shard of yourself that's there is heard, but it's not really singing a song or anything - Just faintly vibrating. Nowhere near sentience. Anyways, you let yourself climb back up from where it lodged itself into your throat. Works great!

With all that done, it's time to get started on your day. Your underground selves receive the majority of your attention at first, as you ensure that the Necroshroom's biological systems are up to snuff, as you start to spread roots and break down the old organic matter in the forgotten graveyard you've found. Mmm, old wood! Anyways, while it's doing that, your Underground Ghost is off exploring the place in the Sewers you found, which is definitely strange! You think it's some kind of portal, or entrance, since otherwise, why would this completely out of place room exist in the sewers? It's sparse and made of stone, with the primary feature being a solid arch in the middle of the room. Your senses don't detect any active magic or enchantment on it…but they do detect traces, as if it has been performed in this room before - Not necessarily frequently, but regularly. It reads as LOCATION TRANSPORT SIMILAR (Magical Analysis). There doesn't seem to be any alarms or anything, according to your senses, so you can probably stick something discrete down here to keep an eye on it, if you want to. Or you could try and use it for yourself! There's clearly something going on here, but, well, whatever it is, it's not accessible right now. When your attention shifts back to check on the Necroshroom, it's eaten most of the wood (Saprotrophic, Gain 1 Biomass). You use its flesh-roots to sweep up the bones, sorting them into neat piles. Hmmm…Now that you've gathered them in one place, you feel a sort of resonance within them…(Gained Resource: Cemetery Remains! Keyword: Forgotten). Unfortunately, now, there's not really a separate area of the graveyard itself now, just more of your tunnels. (The sub-area Forgotten Cemetery has been removed!)

Alright. Now, then, with that set to be handled and cleaned up, Super Spy has set off towards your goals today! First and foremost, you've got to check in on Sabrina. Whatever doubts you may have, she's still your friend. You hop towards her building, and start to look around. She's not hanging out on the rooftop, smoking…she's not in her apartment, though Mrs. Johnson says hello to you. When you asked, though… "No, I haven't seen Sabrina, not since yesterday. Tell me if you see her, alright?" You're a little worried, but maybe she just needs space? You're sure she'll turn up.

It's only a relatively short journey to Laurel's place from the rooftop, so you get there in good time! Still no boxing today, which is sad - You'd enjoy the biomass from the spectacle, even if you're not a fan of the bloodsport. Laurel's busy today, chatting with Sydney and some of his friends, who are wearing the same sort of pin you saw on Jeremy (Perceptive), which you remember means that they're Guard contractors. "I've told you once already. Anyone who comes here pays my price. They follow my rules. No special treatment." Syndey sighs, seeming to be serving as a mediator between the two groups. "Look, fellas, I told you, she isn't going to be into it. You gotta respect the rules of the gym, if you wanna get the benefits!" The largest of the group scoffs - "Sure you do. It's physical enhancement, not a faith group. You break her stupid rules all the time, Sydney - Don't pretend you don't." Laurel's face curls up slightly into a snarl, but it smoothes itself out extremely quickly. (Perceptive) Sydney doesn't deny it, looking to Laurel. She shakes her head, and he nods. "Look. The lady's spoken, that's the end of it. Now, unless any of you feel like getting in the ring with me, I'm afraid you've got no business here." They grumble, but leave, and you pop in behind them.

Laurel's clearly in a sour mood, and leaves you to your work mostly alone, which certainly helps in avoiding any unfortunate consumption-related exposure (Gain 1 Biomass). At the end of your work, you go to her, and she curtly drops the money into your hand, which is swiftly deposited into your pocket. "Oh, Miss Laurel!" She glances at you, even though her eyes are shut. "What?" You power ahead, trying to get the words out and irritate her as little as possible. "When's the next boxing match? I know those are the messiest days and I want to make sure I'm here to help. Same for any other messy days!" She thinks for a second, eyes still closed. "...You're welcome daily. Always work to do. The next one is scheduled for the twenty-fifth. I try to do them monthly, if I can. Gives a good sense of timing. Consistency. That's important." You nod. "Now, go. You've got things to do. I'm sure." This last bit is a statement, and so you obey, leaving the boxing gym with your pocket full of credits! Or, well, a decent amount of credits. A quick stop by the grocery, though, leaves your pockets empty of credits and full of food, which, in your opinion, is far better! Even if it's somewhat tainted by your worry about Sabrina.

Still, when you get home, you settle in for a meal with Martin, and focus on how best to break your idea to him. "So. Martin. Enjoying the food?" He nods, eagerly scraping his bread with a bit of the jam you'd gotten. "It's good, good, good stuff, you know - Been, uhhh…been…I can't remember, really, been a while, a long time, since I had jam on bread. It's good stuff!" You nod, eating your own food, though it's not as enjoyable as it might have been, you think (Gain 1 Biomass). After a period of comfortable silence and consumption, you decide to just break the topic. "So! I was wondering, you know, if I had something that could take a look at you, would you want it to?" He pauses. "Like…uh…like…a doctor? I don't, uh, don't really, like, you know, doctors." You shake your head. "Something I made!" You pause. How are you going to explain your unique situation? You decide to just be honest. "It's sorta me, too! Like, a finger or something! Just, cut off from me!"

He swallows his bite and purses his lips, scratching at the back of his head. "...Well, I mean, I guess, if it's, like, it's safe, right? I trust you, but, uh, you know, some of this stuff, it's not so good for people. Can…hurt more than it heals anyone, heals anything, yeah." You nod. "Don't worry! It's just diagnosing stuff! No changes, and it'll climb right out when it's done!" He swallows again. "...It's, like, a creature? Or something?" You tilt your head back and forth. "Sorta!" You call it up and let it scuttle through the door. His eyes widen a bit at the sight, but he doesn't freak out, which is…good, you think!

"...I, uh. I trust you. That. That looks a bit, you know, I…I trust you." He closes his eyes. "...Maybe I should, like, take my meds or something, and they'd help-" You shake your head. "No, no. I need you at baseline, I think! It'll help me get a good reading. As soon as I'm done, though, you can take it!" He nods, slowly and reluctantly. "Alright. Now, it's going to stop in your throat, but it won't obstruct your breathing, and I'll be talking to you this whole time. So, don't worry, just lie down and let it do its work." He nods, lying down and closing his eyes. Silly, why wouldn't he want to see when the Autodoc enters his mouth? He's shivering as you pick yourself up and put yourself down by his mouth, letting you crawl down into it. He starts coughing as you make your way down his esophagus, which definitely impedes progress a bit, but his eyes stay closed and he doesn't flail about, even if he does keep shivering.

Anyways, once you hit a good length into his throat, you extend yourself out and open your senses, sliding into his biological systems and evaluating them (Diagnostician). Hm. He's definitely not in great shape. The liver and kidneys are damaged, with some nasty build-up in the kidneys. His brain activity seems a bit unhealthy, compared to your model of brain patterns from your own brain - Some parts of it are pretty overstimulated, is the best way you can describe it. You can definitely say that the morphine he's taking is, in fact, hurting him more than it's helping him, if it's helping him at all, based on your direct connection to his nervous system and brain. Any pain he's feeling when he doesn't take it, like he mentioned, is likely due to withdrawal symptoms, rather than any old injuries flaring up, though you won't rule out the need to fix those as well. Speaking of old injuries and other factors, his musculature is definitely underdeveloped, likely due to his conditions while on the street. Scars, too, and one or two poorly healed fractures in his bones. His lungs have mild scarring on them, and it doesn't seem to be from his morphine use - Perhaps a war injury of some kind? And, harder to detect than all that, a few tiny pieces of metal, embedded deep under his skin. Not enough to cause any issues, but enough that your sensitive instruments of diagnosing can pick it up (Perceptive).

Your soul-senses flick around a bit as well, picking up faint notes of another song that once harmonized with his, but that is no longer present. His own song seems healthy, but is full of static that overlaps with the notes. It's difficult to hear through it. It doesn't seem unnatural, though, since it's harmonizing with the song itself - Perhaps it represents some form of inner conflict or turmoil, or some deep uncertainty? You're not sure. (Soul Diagnostician) You're emitting a comforting humming throughout this process, which seems to cause him to calm down a bit, as you're searching through his bodily processes (Reassuring). Still, at the end of it, the Autodoc's tendrils retract and you crawl back up his throat. Once you're clear, he immediately sits up, rubbing his throat gently and taking deep breaths. "...You're…pretty scary, Scarlet, when you want to be. Ha-ha, ha-." He seems nervous, but given the way he's glancing towards his 'medicine', you think he's trying to find comfort in lightening the atmosphere before calming himself down with the morphine. You smile and nod, laughing along a bit, before taking your leave and wishing him a good night. And with that, you retire back to your core, head still buzzing with possibilities…and, in the back of your mind, unbidden, more concern, both for him and for Sabrina.

Asset Situations

Explore [Sub-Area] with [Asset]

Explore a newly discovered location or sub-area! Make sure to specify which asset is exploring - This will have an impact on what may or may not be discovered! Feel free to include write-in instructions if you so desire.

Patrol [Fully Explored Area] with [Asset]

Sometimes, you need to play defense - Or simply linger in an area you've been before! This means patrolling that area and finding out what's changed about it, or if it's going to change in the future. This will do any jobs that are in the area as well.

Visit Carl's Parlor of Dice and Cards

Frederick was such a nice young man, you feel at least a little obligated to visit! Sure, you don't have much money at the best of times, but you're sure you can talk your way into it, to at least watch or something. And maybe you'll even see Frederick again!
Note: Visiting here will unlock a new Location. You can assume this of most 'visit' actions.

Deal With The Poster

You need to deal with the Poster, and there's only one way to find out how - Experimentation. Throw something at the poster and see what happens. Note: This may cause damage to whatever assets you throw at the Poster.

Biomass Options

Create an Asset.

Create an asset and pick as many keywords as you'd like for them, so long as you have the Biomass!

Recycle An Asset

Recyle an asset or parts of an asset. Make sure to specify which asset and/or which keywords. Important Note: This can be done in the same 'turn' in which you create a new asset with the biomass from the old asset!

Modify Yourself

Add, remove, or change your non-immutable core keywords! This influences your wider self, rather than individual specific assets.

Spread Yourself

Choose a sub-area of interest in a fully explored location and you may spread your core flesh there with the permission of the inhabitants (if any)! This will have a number of benefits, such as applying Core Keywords to the sub-area in question, if applicable, the passive accumulation of biomass from allies in the sub-area if possible (negating the need for even a patrol action), and other, area-specific bonuses and benefits, both to yourself and to inhabitants. This will be necessary to unlock future Biomass options.

QM's Note: This definitely took longer than I wanted it to! It's finals season, and so I've been pretty darn busy - Which means a lot of stuff is a bit on the back burner. Still, hey, I'm doing my best. 12 hours of moratorium, and 48 hours of voting, and please tell me if I screwed up at all.

Anyways, you let yourself climb back up from where it lodged itself into your throat. Works great!
*Screams internally* (No Scarlet I didn't mean you should have the Autodoc start screaming.)

Hmm light manipulation seems to have improved stealth, but no change in production speed.
The Necroshroom didn't give any passive biomass generation, but produced one and gave us a new item. Good, but we can probably recycle it now.

(Sub-Areas: Basements, The Sewer, Den of Rats, Your Tunnels, Sewer Portal, ???)
In the previous update the unexplored sub-locations were bold and the others not. Is the Sewer Portal considered explored now? (And the basements not yet?)

Hmm. Laurel appreciates consistency, so maybe we should give our self a schedule for when we show up if not every day?
Or well, honestly it may be worthwhile to just make a doppelganger of the super spy to go work there every day. The two guaranteed biomass we get from it (or one and money) is much better then any of our other passive generation methods. An Alibi Spy only really needs 2-3 biomass.

Then we could augment our main super spy for adventure and exploration and like that needs the personal touch. Maybe use it for looking for Sabrina this turn. Give it a bit more of a personal touch then just sending a new creature after her.

FLESH MAGICAL GIRL ERROR LOVE ERROR JUSTICE ERROR ERROR ERROR from yourself, which seems about right,

Yes, of course, the numerous ERRORs are no concern at all… it is interesting that we really have *Magical girl* really embedded deep inside our making though, as well as *Justice*.

you'll keep them and maybe use them for something? Yeah, that's for sure.

Use them for a puppet show? :V

(This comment offered by my inner *Lenore, the cute little dead girl*)

So, you've been on a real plant kick lately, and you've had a brilliant idea. What better way is there to get a feel for someone, to diagnose them, then to plant yourself inside of them?

Scarlet, that's not what plant means there….

some miniature vocal cords, so you can talk to him while you're analyzing his body (Reassuring)

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

You decided to go full in on reminding us that Scarlet doesn't grok humans in this update didn't you?

Still, good to know that's how this word's interpreted, something tells me Martin may not find it reassuring though.

Anyways, you let yourself climb back up from where it lodged itself into your throat. Works great!

…No, I don't think he'll find it reassuring at all, strangely enough.

Man, I get the impression there's a Trainwreck incoming and I can't stop looking.

Gained Resource: Cemetery Remains! Keyword: Forgotten

Give it to the tree?

I'm sure nothing can go wrong with using human bones to make a flesh tree forgettable. :V

"...I, uh. I trust you. That. That looks a bit, you know, I…I trust you."

Do you think *Puppy dog eyes* would have helped there?

"...You're…pretty scary, Scarlet, when you want to be. Ha-ha, ha-."

You have no idea, that one was quite tame by our standards, we even made sure it was reassuring!

in the back of your mind, unbidden, more concern, both for him and for Sabrina.

I'll admit, I am worried about Sabrina.

Don't worry, it may be longer than normal but it's not too long, you have a wide margin before reaching that point, IRL takes precedence anyway, take care of yourself and good lick on the finals!

Good, but we can probably recycle it now.

Change the saprotrophic word to the hydroponic you wanted to try last turn and plant it in the sewers?

Or well, honestly it may be worthwhile to just make a doppelganger of the super spy to go work there every day. The two guaranteed biomass we get from it (or one and money) is much better then any of our other passive generation methods. An Alibi Spy only really needs 2-3 biomass.

Humanoid, Disguise, Inconspicious?

Not sure on the third word, the first is necessary, the second probably too.

And I agree that it is a very good source of biomass, though, we may have to make sure to precise we don't want people to see Alibi Spy and Super Spy at the same place at the same time.

Hmmm. Nice update, thanks!

Change the saprotrophic word to the hydroponic you wanted to try last turn and plant it in the sewers?
Why not both? Should be some things that can be broken down in the sewer naturally. Though hydroponically grown crops still need light… Maybe fungal instead? It's doubling down on the eating refuse bit but that did lead to increased production earlier with the kudzu.

Or well, honestly it may be worthwhile to just make a doppelganger of the super spy to go work there every day.
Why not just have Super Spy do it? Super spy has a part of our soul so putting it in dangerous spots/using it as our main magical girl avatar is a bit risky imo. I feel like having super spy be an unremarkable person about town who has a fixed schedule and people recognize could be worthwhile in its own right as well.

Perhaps it represents some form of inner conflict or turmoil, or some deep uncertainty?
So Martins deal is more psychological than anything else. I think it's still worthwhile to help him with his physical and ailments though? Maybe we convert autodoc into something with reassuring, symbiotic, and panacea? Maybe drop reassuring :V That might be able to help him out physically, and then we can talk to him about his history/faith later to tackle the soul stuff?

Maybe drop reassuring :V

But it worked so well! :V

Not both is more due to using the biomass somewhere else.

Why not just have Super Spy do it?

In this particular case, it's to go search for Sabrina with our most emotionally important asset, we can go back and reuse super-spy on work after that, maybe change Alibi Spy to look different.

Anyway, here's a proto-plan:

[] Plan: lots of moving around.
-[] Remove Magical analysis from ghost
-[] Recycle Autodoc
-[] Add fungal and hydroponic to Necroshroom
-[] Add forgotten to tree of abundance
-[] Add fast and Tracker to Super-Spy
-[] Create an asset: Alibi Spy
—[] keywords: Humanoid, Disguise, Trustworthy
-[] Explore the underground with ghost
-[] Plant Necroshroom in the sewers
-[] tree stays on the roof
-[] Search for Sabrina outside your street with Super-Spy
-[] Patrol your street with Alibi Spy

There, as the name implies, lots of rearranging of biomass and moving assets, the part I am the least sure of is Alibi Spy, because I am slightly wary of people seeing we have this ability before our attack on Hermann, could be persuaded to create something to help with Martin instead, while Super-Spy is searching.

But it worked so well! :V

That looks good to me! Two changes I have to suggest:
-Changing one of the tree's other traits to a growth one? Adding the bones to it takes it up to four hiding/concealment traits, which frankly seems like overkill. Could be getting some more biomass out of it faster.
-Changing ghost to explore the basements specifically. I think that's the only one we haven't explored yet, so that's probably where the last area is?

Otherwise, we're letting the magical girl debut creep up on us a bit, but having the most possible biomass for that makes sense. On the other hand, leaving it for the last minute feels bad?

Whoops, I'll fix that.
@TheMaskedReader Roots says we get biomass from not moving. Do we have any indication of how much that is? Does it increase over time to encourage staying in one spot?

In the future, if you all have some kind of scheduled/routine/permanent assignment you want to give an asset, just put it into your orders and I'll note it down so you don't have to redo it every time. Note: this permanent assignment has to be the only thing they do, even within "patrols". So, if it goes to work for Laurel, it can't be going to talk to Mrs. Johnson (though I'll be nice and say that 'buying food with credits counts as part of a single action'). If it's rooting itself in the sewers, it can't be cleaning out the tunnels, or whatever.

I actually think I agree with Eater. Super Spy not only has a partial soul, but it also uses the Doll, which has sentimental value to us. If we're going to produce basically a copy, then why not transfer poison over to it and have it do the combat action while Super Spy keeps patrolling the streets.

There is no combat action? It's a searching action, to look for our friend, our friend who knows both our nature and our attachment to the Doll, yes, Alibi spy will probably will be the one attacking Hermann later, but right now it's not what we're doing.

So my *plant the necroshroom in the sewers* action is about what I hoped, perfect, unless you want me to be even more explicit on what I mean just to be sure?
If it becomes too complicated/messy, I may genuinely make an action category for it or find some other way of simplifying it, but for now: That'll do.

Also, fixed the bolding issue with the Underground.

Well, voting is open:

[x] Plan: even more moving around.
-[x] Remove Magical analysis from ghost
-[x] Replace Light manipulation by Bountiful on Tree of abundance.
-[x] Recycle Autodoc
-[x] Add fungal and hydroponic to Necroshroom
-[x] Add forgotten to tree of abundance
-[x] Add fast and Tracker to Super-Spy
-[x] Create an asset: Alibi Spy

As I said, I am not that attached to that Aliby spy action, if anyone has a good idea to help Martin this turn, you can replace Alibi spy and make a doc asset out of her to replace this action, for the moment, I am looking at how people react to that.

Do wonder what'll happen if Alibi Spy is not able to pass for being Super-spy.

So questions about the room that the portal is in. How tall is the ceiling? Is is tall enough for a human to stand up straight? Are there any exits to the room that have ceilings tall enough for a human to stand up in? Does water flow under where the portal is, or nearby it?

Anyway plan.

So I like the general line of this but have some changes I would want.
What are we hoping to get from fungal on the Necroshroom?

Fast and tracker on the super spy seem good. Basically what I was thinking actually.

For the Alibi Spy, I'm thinking that if we want it to pass as the super spy we should give it the same keywords. False-Humanoid not Humanoid. Our super spy was noted to have slightly doll like features after all, and suddenly losing that could be suspicious.
I'm not sure it needs Trustworthy either.

Anyway, a modified version:

[x] Plan: Double the faces, Double the places.
-[x] Remove Magical analysis from ghost
-[x] Remove Light manipulation from Tree of abundance.
-[x] Recycle Autodoc

-[x] Add Forgotten and Bountiful to Tree of Abundance
-[x] Add Hydroponic and Hidden to Necroshroom
-[x] Add Fast and Tracker to Super-Spy
-[x] Create an asset: Alibi Spy
--[x] keywords: False-Humanoid, Disguise
-[x] Add Lucky to Core

Hidden on the Necroshroom until we can be sure there won't be people walking out of that portal. We can probably get away with just 1 stealth keyword though.
Lucky on the core because it worked well when we had it before. A good general buff. Plus a little luck is very helpful when tracking.

A little bummed that we don't have the biomass to re-make the scout this turn for more exploration. There is a whole city out there after all. But with the Alibi Spy holding down our job we should be able to do a bit of traveling with the super spy.

Basically doubling up on the detrivore keywords in hopes of increasing the rate of biomass gain, like adding bountiful to the tree. I was worried that hydroponic wouldn't be great in the sewer as hydroponics replace soil but still need light as an energy source, so it might be like having something with photosynthesis underground; no out greatly reduced mass gain. Plus fungi are cool and it's in the name!

False-Humanoid not Humanoid
Hmm. We've definitely flip flopped over time on this. We used to be more human presenting with supper spot than before, but that fell away a while back which led to Laurel talking to us about the dangers/disadvantage of relying on abhumanness for power. If we go back in the other direction it might be more of a return to form? On the other hand, it still has disguise and it's disgusting itself as super spy, so it might be a non issue.

It's a relatively normal-sized room (I don't want to get too specific, since I'm not an architect), sized for humans. It sort of stands out in the tight sewers for that fact - The door is essentially cut out of the wall and extends a bit higher, as a sort of alcove, where an adult human would have to crouch down to get further into the sewers. The arch is large enough for about 3 adult humans of average size to pass through at once, to give a sense of scale. No water flows into the room or out of it - In fact, if you closed the door, you probably wouldn't even be able to tell you're in the sewers at all.

Hmm, So I see the logic, but would prefer to wait on that for now. More then biomass what we also want here is information. We can see how the current configuration works out, and then modify it if we feel the need.
Plus it's not like the mushroom has the photosynthesis keyword. So I don't see why it would be unable to use hydroponic.

As for Humanoid vs False-Humanoid, shifting from a more human appearance to a less human one was interpreted as us doing the abhuman thing (however it works), but is it even possible for one to un-abhuman? Shifting from less human to more human could be really really notable, depending on just how things work.

So I would rather just keep our appearance consistent just to avoid any questions.

Hmm, interesting. I honestly don't know what is up with this. Not super high priority but odd.

I guess we could try searching the room for any traces? I assume there wasn't anything obvious or we would have seen it.
Or just use some sort of post-cognition or something.

I'm leaning away it being just an entrance for workers or something. I doubt portals like this can be made so trivially as to be more convenient then just a mundane access.
Maybe some group's secret hideout?

You know since we have a subterranean biomass absorber active at the moment, I figure I should voice an idea I've had for a while and see what people think of it.

The sewer seems like it could potentially be a useful hidden source of biomass. Basically my idea is to adapt the shroom into a Sewer Filter/Cleaner, that absorbs the "waste" that is constantly flowing through the sewer, and turns it into biomass. Considering the "waste" has already been "processed" it probably won't be the most efficient way to recurrently gain biomass, but it should be basically undetectable unless a city worker comes by sometime. Obviously this idea is gross but considering Scarlet is a flesh creature I don't think she'd mind at least.
