Magic Knight Quest (Surprise, you are a Harem Hero now, SV)

You just repeated points I raised.

Our friends will notice that we hid our stigmata. Didn't we tell Elizabeth that we don't care?

People will remember that we hid and will probably ask themselves why.

This is not black and white choice. Either has upsides and downsides . Deciding to carry glows will have consequences.

Sorry I misunderstood your post. For me it's not something that we are ashamed of and your right, we don't care if people judge us for our magical affinity.

But today is not about us, about showing the world that we can use dark magic to help people, or being brave in the face of undeserved judgment, it's about giving people the chance to grieve and mourn lost friends and family.

Sure we could just go, but we all remember what happened in town the other day. We saved an innocent girl from terrorists, in broad daylight, with backup from another student. But what did the surrounding people, who watched the event from start to finish,do? Once they saw our stigmata was black they acted like we were a juiced-up meth-head that was about to pull a gun on them!

What do you think is going to happen at the funeral of a terrorist attack? Someone is going to see it and either, attack us immediately thus ruining the ceremony, or yell "DARK MAGI!" and attack us with the help of all the other students. Just cover it up for today out of a respect for the dead and the grieving.

Both things are true but we can´t change our magic we need to get pride of it the Darkness is our curse and the road to make sure we become the magic knight that save the people and if the idiots try fight because that well... we get more affinity points to our magic and become stronger we are a fucking hero and if they can´t acept it well we can fighthem and use Nanoha style of friendshit

Just because one student has psychotic reaction to evil doesn't mean that others do.

And Director and Celcia will be there so it's not like people will try to fuck things up.

Really, what wearing gloves will actually do is allowing us to talk to people that would otherwise choose to distance themselves from us, allowing us to introduce ourselves before their impression gets tainted by darkness stereotype.

And i could easily see one of potential girls being bigoted towards darkness, thus making this good choice to cross major hurdles early.

But bottom point is, this isn't a simple choice that can be just added to the vote in order to make it "better". People need to think about merits and drawbacks of the choice, which is what i'm trying to get at.

It should be noted that Robin, if her full sprite is any indication, is wearing a pair of gloves as well, and in her character bio, her Stigmata is on her palm. Still, she doesn't wear the gloves in order to hide the Stigmata because she wears those gloves in order to better control her element, which is Lightning. Also, she's well known among the student body which makes it alright for her to wear those gloves without causing ruckus.

We, on the other hand, may get into trouble with it, especially since there's already a rumor telling the students about a new dark user in the school.

3.2 The Lord's Speech
[X] Attend the funeral

---

You have decided to attend the funeral. Despite you were not there during the attack, it is still prudent to show some respect to those who died. The funeral ceremony is held in the auditorium hall. The coffins which contain the remains of the deceased are arranged in the middle of the hall, each of them decorated with flowers and embroideries. You can also see the replicas of the Soul Gears that belonged to the deceased being placed on the coffins.

You know that those aren't the real Soul Gears, considering that after death of its wielder, a Soul Gear will eventually fade away. Still, the broken piece of your sister's Soul Gear is in your possession. She was considered 'Missing in Action' due to the fact that her Soul Gear still exists, but a Soul Gear shouldn't be able to break, thus making the existence of the wrecked Soul Gear an anomaly. Your sister's body is nowhere to be found, so it is uncertain whether she's alive or dead after the battle against those monsters.

You shake your head. You have accepted the fact that you have lost your sister forever, and it doesn't matter if your sister's body is found or not. All you can do now is to focus on the living as well as to live up to her legacy as a Magic Knight.

You can see people mourning for the deceased. Besides the students of the Academy, there are also the relatives of the deceased paying their last respects. There are also several people placing bouquets of flowers on the coffins. A few senior Magic Knights also show up, showing their last respects to the deceased young ones by giving them salutes. Needless to say, the atmosphere in the auditorium hall is quite somber.

Still, as you approach the coffins, you can feel that other students are giving you wary looks. There are several students looking at you, or specifically, at your pendant and your Stigmata. They are aware that you are a Magic Knight with Dark Affinity. Some of them are whispering to each other, and even though you are unable to hear what they are saying, it's safe to guess that those students are saying unkind things about you.

You sigh. You have already expected this, because your Stigmata and your Affinity automatically make you an outcast among the students. You're used to this, but it doesn't make it any less hurtful.

"Ah, there you are, Kazuto," says a gentle voice from behind you. When you turn around to see the speaker, you see Shirley, clad in her uniform, like usual.

"Good morning, Kazuto," Shirley says. "I'm glad that you show up today."

"Well, I believe I can learn something if I come here..." You say.

"Still, I'm sorry that you have to go through this, Kazuto..." Shirley says, giving you a worried look. "You probably have noticed this, but I want you to not take it personally. Some students may not take your presence here kindly, especially after the attack that happened days ago."

"Yeah, I know that..." You say blandly. Those wary looks from those students are pretty unmistakable.

"The only reason why they don't outright antagonize you now is because some of the members of the Student Council are here. President Celica is also here, and he will give a speech shortly after this..." Shirley informs you.

"Ah," you're curious about this Celica guy.

Then, there is an announcement that the Student Council President will deliver his speech. The attendees are told to gather at a specified place so that they can hear the speech. Not too long after that, a person clad in green robe goes up to the podium on the stage. The big screen on top of the stage displays the person's face, and you can see the person much clearer.

The person is Lord Celica Sylphil, the Student Council President, the youngest Lord in Knight Order and the leader of the Knight of the Round Table. From what you can see, he has a rather feminine-looking face, but he also has this hardened look of a veteran. You are rather unsure about Celica's gender despite people referring to this person as a he. Well, for the sake of convenience, let's just call him a he for the time being. Still, it's undeniable that he looks beautiful and handsome at the same time.

"During the attack..." Celica begins his speech. "I killed more than twelve of those terrorists, and subdued at least twenty of them."

He pauses. He's looking at the reactions of the audience.

"And those who surrendered were brought to justice and were personally executed by me..." Celica continues. "Still, even after delivering justice to those who were responsible for this tragedy, it still doesn't change the fact that we have lost twenty of our comrades, our fellow Magic Knights. My effort to make sure that those who were responsible for this mindless violence won't bring those who had lost their lives back..." He looks at the coffins. "In a way, I consider myself a failure, because I was unable to save them. I was unable to protect my brothers and sisters-in-arms, and I wholeheartedly apologize to those who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy, because I wasn't strong enough to do my responsibility as the Student Council President and as a Magic Knight..." He bows to the audience, apologizing for the loss.

Some of the audience start tearing up. The older Magic Knights just lower their heads. Then Celica continues.

"Ian McCarthy was a promising young man with a bright future ahead of him. And he was also betrothed to his fellow Magic Knight, Amano Saya, and they planned to get married once they reach higher rank. It saddens me that both lost their lives during the initial attack. There were a few occasions where I got to talk to them before, and from what I could tell, both of them were a pair of pleasant people who were meant for each other. And now, we have lost them..." Celica starts saying the names of the deceased. "Harrison Gunther was a troublemaker among his peers, but his presence, more often than not, brought smiles to their faces. I understand, from my personal experience, about how painful it was to lose something that made our days brighter and happier. He will always be missed, by his friends, by me and by everyone..."

"Kelly Sutherland, Kayaba Minami and Helena Flounder, these three girls were close friends. Occasionally, they would come to me, asking me for tips about how to become Magic Knights. Their perseverance and determination in their pursuit to improve themselves are something that I have come to admire and respect, and it pains me that I will not be able to see them again..." Celica continues. Then more names are said. Celica looks like he's reminiscing about his previous encounters with all the deceased, as if remembering all the fond memories that he had about them.

"And the last person, and the only one who died during our counterattack..." Celica says. "From the brief moment I got to know her, she was a gentle, kindhearted person. She was an earnest person who will try her best to do everything. I tried to save her life after she was fatally struck down, but in the end, I failed..." He lowers his head. "Even with my powers, I couldn't even save the life of such a gentle girl who wished the best for everyone. In the end, powers mean nothing if they can be used to save what matters to you the most..." His voice sounds strained, and it feels like he's struggling to keep his stoic face as he continues his speech.

He places his hand on his chest, right on his heart.

"Still, she will always live on, in my heart. Even if she is no more, I will remember all the good things about her. She will always be missed," Celica pauses. "Amane Yuka will always be missed."

"..."

"Still, in this tragedy, there is a lesson to be learned here..." Celica says. "It will be a reminder for all of us that as Magic Knights, deaths will always loom over us. We wield our Soul Gears to end lives to prevent our lives to be ended. Let it be a reminder for us that in this line of work, we cannot escape this kind of tragedy. This is the truth that we have to embrace the moment we swear to become the protectors of humanity..."

After a moment of pause, Celica continues, "Duty, courage, sacrifice. These are the words that we, the Magic Knights, live by. The moment we call ourselves Magic Knights, we are sworn to our duty to protect mankind, either from the evil of this mad, chaotic world and from the evil within. Protecting humanity is our endless duty, from the moment we become Magic Knights until our final moments of life. After seeing the evils committed by those terrorists, let us be reminded of our duty; to fight the evils in all forms, for the sake of humanity."

"In order to fulfill our duty, we must have the courage to do so. Courage comes in many forms, not just by relentlessly pursuing our objectives while trying to fulfill our duty. But our courage stems from our determination, our resolve, to see our sworn duty done..."

Celica closes his eyes.

"And we, the Magic Knights, are expected to lay down our lives, if it is necessary to protect humanity. It is sacrifice. Even in death, we will never forsake our duty..." Celica opens his eyes as he says that. "Even in death, those who lost their lives during the attack have given their contribution for us, reminding us of what is the most important to us as the Magic Knights. And now that they have fulfilled their duty, may they rest in peace..." He bows slightly. "That is all."

Celica has finished his speech and leaves the podium. The atmosphere becomes more somber after the speech is done.

"So, what do you think about his speech, Kazuto?" Shirley asks. She's asking about your opinion regarding Celica's speech.

Your answer?

Alright, here we are! It's been a pain to write Celica's speech. Still, hope you boys and girls enjoy this!

Shrugs, well if nothing else, we didn't get lynched so I call it a victory.

Oh yeah, emotional speech...... Sorry, I may be dead on the inside. It is well written for what it is worth, but I feel nothing.

Well, we're sympathetic ones, and regarding Shirley protective attitude, we should talk how we're going to strive to be better to protect humanity and such, right?

[Angst] Heroes kill monsters, monsters kill humans and humans kill heroes. How many will we lose to our 'fellow' man before we are through? [/Angst]

In all seriousness, though.

[X] I understand its a tragedy for most, but well... I don't know these people. It's hard to be sad for those whom you have never met. I can respect their grief however, and I will not begrudge them for it.

[jk] "9/10"

More seriously now...

[] "He talks about death and sacrifice so much, what about living and succeeding? What about doing more so that none of us die next time?"

The second part to me, sounded slightly different to me. Like Cecila was trying to convince himself of something, Did anyone else get that feeling or am I just reading too much into it?

...Are we certain that Celica is an actual person? Cause after seeing him so many times, I can't be sure if he has a constant stoic expression on his face or if he's actually just a cardboard cut-out. :V

He sacrificed all his other expressions so he only has one expression left.:V

Well, I'm still editing his sprite to make some new variants for his sprite. He has no other expressions, see? And now, I'm using Photoshop to put a smile on his face.

Is you remember the ones that you have lost they will live with you and because that you need to live for them so their memory will never be loss

I dunno about that...it's gonna take more than that to convince me he's actually there in the flesh.

Wow, what nurtured arrogance. In spite of his listed accomplishments (granted, they do seem to be a big deal for someone still in school), it kinda boiled down to "me, me, me" a bit in there. What, are all the other Knights and squires and armed students at the campus just for show?

Be it to save the world, change it or merely protect it, that's the aggregate work of more than just one man. Ditch the unwarranted messiah complex; the true world revolution will only be realized when everyone bloody well grows up and learns to save it by their own damn selves

Well, he's pretty strong, so he can't help but have this unwarranted messiah complex. It is in our nature to forget our own limits if given powers. People will think they can take on the world with such powers.

Also, even though he's a Lord, he's still pretty young. Young people tend to do reckless things.

I mean it feels like he is saying that he was the only one who could have saved them, also I realized that his talks about each of the students were from his own personal interactions with them. I will let it go as I can understand what he is going through however He needs to talk to a counselor or someone about this and soon.

Hell, people still think they can take on cruel, cruel reality even when they don't have powers, though! That's how contemporary SHOUNEN protagonists even have work!

And there's a difference between being reckless, and being a damn blind fool. :V

Still, if a typical shonen hero thinks he can take on the cruel reality even though he doesn't have powers, what makes him different compared to Celica? Logically, a person with powers may fare better than the one who is without them.
