Sci fi novel series about a primarily shipborne civilization that has attained... basically a hedonistic utopia under the eyes of Hyperintelligent AI Overlords. And those starships are robust ones, a single ship being sufficient to rebuild the Culture even if all the others were destroyed. The series mostly focuses on various groups from the Culture interacting with outside civilizations because of this. There'd probably be enough awesome space bullshit to have an interesting date there. Oh well.

Rule 4 'Don't be Disruptive' - Sniping a user for a comment they made several pages ago, about a series irrelevant to the quest, is not what we like to see.
First, someone who says something like the bolded has no right to speak about the series, considering the third game is where the plots from the trilogy converge and which gives an actual ending to them all. Also, acting like the songs from that game doesn't speak is hypocritical and inconsistent.
And second, keep your ignorance about Surge Concerto to yourself, seeing you don't know anything about it.

You're getting awfully defensive over a comment made in an intentionally exaggerated fashion for the sake of bad, low-effort humor posted nearly a week ago. I mean, if I wanted to make an accurate comment, I'd have said that -outside of the overarching meta-plot and the music(and the localization but the bar's so low that it's subterranean on that one)- 3's widely considered to be a massive step back from 2 on basically every front.
As for Nosurge, I read the LP. It was kind of dull. The commenters in the thread thought it was kind of dull. The guy writing the LP, who happens to be a fan of the series and did LPs of the other three games in the series, thought it was kind of dull. I dare say I'm not alone in thinking that the game itself is, perhaps, maybe, just a little bit on the dull side. It had it's moments, but... meh.
You have your opinions, and I have mine, that's all there is to it. The important thing is that I linked a big pile of music in that first post. And also that this is a PMMM quest thread and not the 24/7 Ar Tonelico Derail Station.

It's not a massive step back in story, setting usage or characters. The localization for AT3 leaves a lot to be desired as well, given the number of lines that were changed into nonsense or the editors being given wrong information for stuff like the talk topics or Cosmospheres.
Also, basing your opinion on Ar nosurge from an LP that was pathetically bad and in which the OP didn't play or inform himself about Ciel at all, did nothing but start bashing the game after a certain point in, shit on the true ending and call it non-canon and mock all players who liked Ion? Sure, as if that could be taken as a replacement for oh, I don't know, actually playing the game. Also, the guy wasn't even an actual fan of the series, considering he has never bothered actually reading the novels, setting encyclopedias or actually bothering doing anything beyond playing the games.
Finally, opinions aren't shields you can use to hide behind to start bashing something. If you can't properly substantiate it, and furthermore is based off incomplete information, you have no business complaining about others calling you out on it.
