[X] Break out the popcorn. Watch until they're finished (but intervene if someone is about to die).

this quest...

its like being a child, trying to have fun, but reality is like a bully, preparing a massive drama snowball to smack us in the face just around the corner

the joke vote totally gonna end awkwardly, so much awkwardness...

Well being the party pooper that I am, I would be inclined to pick the second option. But the first one is basically the same thing plus being confident in Homura's abilities to avoid danger when needed at the last second (I don't think Homura doing things the Madoka way ever yielded good results.. In others eyes at least).

Homura having some confidence is just that good to me so..

[X] Break out the popcorn. Watch until they're finished (but intervene if someone is about to die).

Any casualties should be on Madoka anyway.

But, I will raise some awareness again:

Sayaka and Kyouko are kind of fine, however Mami (and Amy) are going "episode 3" all over again. In OPM villains (as part of the fun) are taken seriously for no more than 2 episodes after which, for almost all of them, they inevitably die.

I question even more where Madoka was going here..

Situation where friends actually fight with 2dimensional black or white personalities = healthy fun for everyone (not that this was already something for them before)

foul play in a video game = REPENT FOR YOUR SINS!

If they really want to have fun they must avoid violent stuff like Mario Kart and go for sports like Sensha-dō (you know, the world where girls really like to reenact WW2 with armored vehicles, My favorite !).

Two episodes is optimistic, really. Most die right after giving their (stupid) backstories.

Honestly, the OPM-verse might be one of the most lethal comedy-verse. I mean, heroes are generally fine (though they tend to end up with every bone in their bodies broken), but civilians and monsters drop like flies.

Two episodes is optimistic

I guess this is how optimistic I can get if Homura has to step in to defend Mami or Amy.

I don't remember how long was the alien arc.. (3 episodes) If I'm talking about Homura in this case, I'm being pessimistic.

Not what Sayaka signed for, but to live through this is literally a prominent feature of hers.

[X] Step in and end this as a Goddess. You won't allow your friends to make fools of themselves.

see, the quest looks like its crack, but its very much not. It is exactly the kind of quest where trying to do something silly will fuck you. I mean, just look at the pokemon arc. the popcorn thing will end badly, and the joke vote would end horrifically.

this is not the kind of quest where you can get away with being silly. The "fun" vote will just end in drama and tears.

Bleach has stepped in and specifically said it's fine to have fun.

Hmm. While I did vote for the 'Intervene' option, and am somewhat sceptical of the others, I'd give the popcorn vote good odds to not results in anything too bad. i mean, I'd be up in arms against it if there wasn't the provision "but jump in if someone is about to die" because honestly, I wouldn't be too surprised if our favourite cat was about to die from that double heroic super attack (oh, and that blonde chick too, I guess), but I think we can trust Homura to know when they're about to get too far.

That being said, I absolutely disagree with the assumption that jumping in as a Goddess and lambasting those morons wouldn't be fun.

Considering that they also likely don't have their memoires from before coming to this world...

Pretty sure they just need a proper stimulus, one that I'm sure Homura would be all too pleased to provide. Plus, I give Sayaka even chances to automatically remember as soon as we show up.

"If there's one thing i won't forget... you, Homura Akemi, are the devil!"

[x] Step in... as Fantastic <3 Wargirl Tamura-chan! You'll defeat them both for your own nefarious schemes~. Also you'll end all your sentences with "Homu".

Watch us get everyone killed by being irresponsible.

Are we not entertained? Is this not why we are here?

I get the same impression I got from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. It's all like Looney Tunes until you suddenly get shot in the head and die.

[X] Break out the popcorn. Watch until they're finished (but intervene if someone is about to die).
Well, Madoka arranged all of this, right? You wouldn't want to waste all of her hard effort.
So you break out the metaphysical popcorn, kick back in your metaphysical chair, and enjoy the show.
...
The metaphysical popcorn could use more metaphysical butter.

Finally, after what seemed like two episode's worth of charge time, Sayaka and Kyouko's attack reaches its zenith.

"-BEEEAAAAM!" they cry out, a large cascade of energy flowing out and washing over Mami and Amy, destroying the blonde's mountain of cake.

It all comes tumbling down, the "Pastry Queen" and "Cat Woman" in a heap at the bottom, dizzy and slightly charred.
Ouch.

"You forced our hand," Sayaka sniffles, wiping away her tears as she stares down at her dazed monsterified friends, "We didn't want it to come to this!"

"Then you... should have eaten... the cake..." Mami mumbles, eyes still spirals.

"We couldn't, as much as it pained us," Kyouko adds, shaking her head at the memory of the waste, "The frosting chipped my teeth."

....
What... kind of cake did Mami make? A concrete block? What the hell? She's the best patisserie you know!
Not that you know many patisseries.
Actually Mami is the only one.

"I never meant for things to get this out of hand," a familiar lovely voice speaks from behind you, "I just... didn't know what to do."

It's her.

"There were many things you could have done," you turn to face Madoka, your shared surroundings fading to a field of stars, "This was reckless."

"I know, it's just," the Pinkette reaches out, grasping your hands and holding them tightly, "I thought that if we started over again, we could just be friends again. Like it used to be."

You answer her desperate gaze with a blank stare. She thought that resetting everything would fix things?
How could she even entertain the notion?

"Madoka," you begin, looking down at your clasped hands, "Do you know what I was before I met you? I was a sickly little wallflower. A shy weakling who couldn't do anything on my own, with no prospect of a happy future. I was utterly alone, and worthless."

"That's not true, Homura-chan!" your best friend pleads, "You were more than that! You were-!"

"Your friend?" you bite out through grit teeth, "Madoka, I did nothing of note before I met you. I had no skills, no achievements, and the greatest hardship I ever overcame was recovering from my surgery. I was unloved, no one cared about me... but you did."

Purple eyes met gold.

"Because of you, Madoka, I grew," you whisper, "I grew into someone you could proudly call a friend and a teammate. I grew into a warrior determined to save you. I grew into a Goddess powerful enough to warp reality itself to please you."

"I don't want to go back," your tone rises, "I never want to go back to that wisp I was before, that utterly worthless scrap of nothing!"

Hands grip tightly enough to hurt.

"But you would have me become that girl again!" you growl, and she winces at your fury, "You would strip away everything I've gained, all the ways I've grown, just so I could become that helpless girl who needed her seniors to save her from a Witch!"

You're pulling her close now, tight, noses almost touching and she can't run from your anger.

"Why would you do that to me, Madoka?! TELL ME!!!"

You didn't mean to be this angry, but the flames of indignation consume you whole as the true weight of what she did dawns on you. Realization came as fast as the words left your mouth.
Madoka would deny you the person you've become.
She doesn't accept you.
It hurts.
It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts It hurts IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS

Why

Why did she do this

You need to know

You need to know because you never thought that she would do this.
Your sweet, sweet Madoka, who has more depth than you ever thought.
The answer could hurt you
The answer could save you

But

You need to know

"I..." she trembles, tears beginning to fall as her golden eyes fade into watery pink, dress and wings dissolving into her uniform, "I just... I just wanted to fix things!"

She breaks down, burying her head in your chest and bawling as her Goddess guise crumbles, leaving a scared, anguished young girl in your arms.
She's sobbing and you can feel her tears soaking your clothes.

"I'm tired of this! I'm tired of us being at each others throats! I don't want to think of you as an enemy or a monster! I just want us to be friends again, like we were, b-but I don't know how! You've been through so much pain for me and it's scarred you, and I d-don't know how to fix that!"

Your chest tightens at her words. Can it be-?

"I see you hurting every day, trying to live with what you've done and the memories of your past, and as much as I want to make the pain go away it won't! I can't hug it gone, I can't heal it with comfort! You've been wounded so much just for me and... and I'm sorry! I want to make it right but I can't!"

She is. Madoka is being-!

"I'm sorry, Homura-chan! I'm sorry that I can't help you! You should have never had to suffer so much for me! I'm not w-worth it!"

Madoka is being...
Selfish.

Oh Madoka, she doesn't realize how much this has helped you already.

[] You are worth everything.
[] I forgive you.

A/N: Hey. I know it's been a while, and I don't really have an adequate excuse. As I mentioned before, I'm currently struggling with depression and this year hasn't been a good one for me. While my Quests, especially this one, can serve as a bit of cathartic release, I lost motivation to do much for basically the first half of the year. I'm taking some antidepressants now, though, and Magia Record has spurred my interest in this Quest again. I now have a specific direction I want to take it in.
Sorry for the delay and tone whiplash. I hope you stick around. Hell, I hope I stick around. Nowhere to go but up.

Also, I made an AMV. Been a while since I did that. Music genre doesn't fit PMMM too well, but the lyrics fit so well that I just had to use it.

[X] You are worth everything.

I mean, personally, I'm a sucker for normal, selfless Madoka, but this is a really big moment for Homura. Getting to actually help Madoka and comfort her and reassure her when she wants it, instead of having to help her against her will. That's...what she's always wanted, to be someone Madoka wants to protect her, instead of someone for Madoka to take care of or take responsibility for.

Welcome back, Bleach. Your quests are wonderful, and have been sorely missed.
