Why would we want to cure it?
If anything we want to be a vampire. As long as Diana/Morila don't mind us giving them the Dracula kiss on a daily basis theres no down side.

And we get to be the Nirns first Vampire Deadra.
Not for ourselves. For the count. More accurately, for his wife.

It's a 'help us and we can help you' thing.

Well now I'm curious.

How do you bring that up in conversation?
So anybody else want to tell count vampy the truth?

"So I have oddly specific knowledge about a possible future. Before you dismiss me as crazy, let me tell you a few things... Perhaps in private, or only with those you trust most?"

Somewhere amidst the 'Hey I'm trying to end an ancient organisation of assassins' and 'The emperor and his heirs are going to be killed by cultists who want to open up portals to the realm of oblivion', we say 'also I know you and your wife are vampires, and your wife hates it. A cure is possible'

Bet you he won't kick us out after that.

Can we not. Seriously

Yeah...

The Count seems to be a pretty standup guy, but he's also gotta be concerned for the safety and wellbeing of his city and his family.

Telling him we're on a quest to destroy the Dark Brotherhood and that we know his dirty little secret would be a great way for him to decide we're a threat to the things he cares about. And we've got squishy little friends who we don't want to see nommed.

That being said, I've never played Oblivion, and my sole knowledge of the Count is from a wiki crawl of his page and his questline, and a series of youtube vids. So I'm not comfortable crafting a vote for this bit.

Care to offer any substantial criticism?
Indeed. I was always told to use the compliment sandwich. First you say something nice, then you say the critism and then you end on a good point. Observe:
Your suggestion is really funny, but we risk Hassildor TPKing us if we approach it with our default amount of subtlety. That said none of the Skingradians would expect it.
Now your turn @Cjdavis103

[X] *Bow, provide all proper social niceties etc* My Lord I apologize for threat we may have caused to your people. But for now the situation is contained. It is your lands and I have no say if you truly wish to be rid of us. I would though, not wish for such a thing, having my Mistress kicked out of your lands on actions I perpetrated reflects poorly on my as her servant. I ask that perhaps we can find a common ground in dealing with this threat. If I am the cause of a threat to your lands then let me apologize to you and my make up for my failure to my Mistress by helping secure these fair lands from the threat.

[X] Shrug, and say "Because the threats to your city were not of my actions or designs, and because twice now I have laid my life on the line unsolicited to protect the good people of Skingrad, once against the aforementioned daedric threat, and once against the giant spiders infesting a basement within the city."
-[X] Whether or not he accepts your continued presence, add afterwards "By the way, if you don't know already, Witch Melisande of Drakelowe knows how to cure your wife's affliction."

Ultimatum
You shrug in a screech of crystals. The count's lips thin slightly at the sound. "Because the threats to your city weren't of my actions or designs. Because twice now I've laid my life on the line, unsolicited, to protect the good people of Skingrad, once against the aforementioned daedra and once against the giant spider menace."

You almost stop there but something compels you to continue. "Plus we were on our way out anyway, so a real punishment would be to make us stay."

"I see." Count Hassidor says, expression blankly deadpan. You have no idea if anything you said was effective or if whatever good your sensible phase did has been totally undone by your bout of less seriousness. "Well your attitude is less than inspiring and presuming that you speak only the whole truth it seems you attract trouble like a carcass attracts flies." You aren't sure if you should be insulted or not.

"My lord, if I might suggest something?" Freyja offers and the vampire count of Skingrad considers her for a moment.

"You may."

"The obelisk, so far as Sullinus and myself could determine, is possible to deactivate, under certain circumstances. According to Sullinus if the hearts of the three knights that emerged from the obelisk are pushed back into the crystal the obelisk will crumble."

"But!" Sullinus cuts in, academic fervour driving him on without a thought for who he's talking to. "But the material itself is incredibly durable and there seems to be power flowing through the crystal. If i could study it...." Sullinus falls utterly silent as the count glares at him. Freyja starts speaking again quickly.

"If Fast wishes to keep the obelisk then perhaps a trial for Fast and his companions to prove their intent?" Hassidor sits in statue like stillness for several minutes. How hasn't he been caught yet! It's bloody obvious what he is!

"You speak a certain amount of sense." The count says with a slight smile, you aren't entirely sure that it's there at all. "Very well, get to the bottom of this deplorable situation with the spiders infesting my city or the obelisk will be removed from my city and you with it." You look at your three minions, Bass and the kryptonion symbol of hope scrawled on his chest, Tenor and the Flash's lightning bolt and Baritone who... you should get him a trident or something. Your fledgling justice league. You don't think that getting their hearts would be anything other than violent. And in Bass' case....

You don't want them to die.

[ ] Maybe you can persuade the count to change his ultimatum. (Write in how)
[ ] Accept your task, go and investigate the spiders and everything connected to the spiders?
-[ ] Interview victims with Freyja (not able to delegate)
-[ ] Investigate afflicted areas (can delegate to minions)
-[ ] Go out of town and clear out a cave for clues (Whole team activity)
-[ ] Go ask the mages some pointed questions with Morlia/Diana (Not able to delegate)
-[ ] Go ask the fighters guild what they know (Not able to delegate)
-[ ] Write in for something Batman related if I know you lot :p
[ ] Skip town, Hassidor can't shut down the obelisk using Knight hearts that aren't in the city anymore!

Uh... that got kinda dark towards the end there. Damn it Hassidor! Stop serious-ing all over the place! I'm holding onto the 'talk about vampire cure and countess Hassidor' vote for next update, just so you know :)

Okay lets do this!

[X] Scooby-Doo gang! Let's solve some crime!
-[X] talk with freya see if any locations share anything or if the owners have snyhong in common
-[X] send bass to investigate prior sites.
-[X] ask if all spiders are the same or have their been varations.
[X] investigate what species thes spiders are and their habits.
[X] establish a timeline of when the attacks occurred and how long between each one.

You know you never tried the compliment sandwich.

Anyway.
Lets apply logic to this situation.
These Spiders are from Skyrim. Skyrim is cold therefore the spiders want to be somewhere cold. Due to being insulated from daily temperature changes underground is usually cold. The deepest place under ground is probably the dungeons.
[X] No need to search I've already deduced where the infestation is centred. The spiders are in the counts basement.

[X] There's is no need for a search for I-(pause for dramatic affect)
-[X] While everyone is paying attention to us, send Bass to investigate the basement
-[X] Have already solved the crime!(Leave time for everyone to be amazed)

-[X] As such(point our finger downwards in dramatic fashion) the spiders are in the Count's basement!

Umm can we investigate before we make a guess?

*Tentatively pokes thread for votes or a critique on the vote options cause that helps too you know*
