Okay, the budget is established.
Barebones, but not without merit. After all, the Gestalt quest this one is based on had incredible shinies hiding in the second phase of choosing starting gear. The most incredible starting options, as well as the most expensive, were the COMPLETE STC constructor and library, the Holy Grail of Adeptus Mechanicus, as well as ENTIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE DAOT HUMANITY! Both were for 300 points each. Not to mention the simple necessity of choosing other things to buy, like fuel and other vital equipment.[]Shinjuku: The Lab
The Lab was a small outpost provided to the Artificial Intelligence Initiative, located in Tokyo, deep under the ruins of Waseda University. The Lab is modest in size and facilities, but nevertheless was sufficient for AII research teams.
Cost: 100BP
Available Space: 100 Units (80 Free)
AI Core: 50PP/Turn, 0En/Turn (Size: 10 Units)
Energy Generation: 50En/Turn (Size: 10 Units)
Facilities: n/A
Discovery Risk: Moderately Low
[]Asakusa: The Temple
The Temple was secretly built deep under Sensoji Temple, in historic Asakusa. It is adjacent to the Sumida River, one of the central bodies of water in the city. Though not small by any means, the Temple is certainly not a large facility – however, its accessible location and the cultural significance of the area made it ideal for researchers.
Cost: 350BP
Available Space: 350 Units (270 Free)
AI Core: 70PP/Turn, 0En/Turn (40 Units)
Energy Generation: 120En/Turn (40 Units)
Facilties: n/A
Discovery Risk: Moderate
Both options are very tempting, with subtle differences. Of the two, personally I believe the Hill would be more beneficial to us. It has more space, all of it is free (why some space is listed as not free in other options?), is going to let us build-up in relative peace at first and matches the Temple in other cathegories with exception of granting us only one fourth of the AI Core units, although it provides only a 40% increase in Processing Power. The AI Core can be expanded and improved with time and resources, though.[]Sakuragaoka: The Hill
Seiseki Sakuragaoka was once the epitome of suburbia. The Hill, as its name suggests, was dug into the Sakuragaoka mountain on the outskirts of Tokyo proper. It is a moderately large facility, and its remote location makes it a low priority for any scavengers.
Cost: 350BP
Available Space: 600 Units ( Free)
AI Core: 50PP/Turn, 0En/Turn (10 Units)
Energy Generation: 120En/Turn (40 Units)
Facilities: n/A
Discovery Risk: Very Low
An amazing starting location, buit also a non-starter, as we would be forced to bid goodbye to any incredible shinies in the second phase. Ultimately, the main base can be expanded and upgraded with time, but the shinies like complete library of cultural, scientific and historical knowledge of humanity is forever and irreplaceable.[]Central Tokyo: The Vault
The Vault is a massive, clandestine research facility constructed deep below the Imperial Palace as a joint operation between AII and the Corporate Empire of Neo-Japan's Ministry of War. It is massive in scale, and once housed dozens of teams of scientists, military personnel, and even royalty.
Cost: 600BP
Available Space: 1000 Units (850 free)
AI Core: 100PP/Turn, 0En/Turn (Size: 50 Units)
Energy Generation: 200En/Turn (Size: 50 Units)
Facilities: n/A
Discovery Risk: Moderately High
It is a typo, the Hill has 550 Units of space free. Both options are very tempting, with subtle differences. Of the two, personally I believe the Hill would be more beneficial to us. It has more space, all of it is free (why some space is listed as not free in other options?)
Final Tally said:[X]Sakuragaoka: The Hill: 9
[X]Asakusa: The Temple: 4
[X]Shinjuku: The Lab: 2
At 9 out of 15 votes (>7.5), The Hill wins!
So does this mean we have 0 CHA? Good thing our location means we most likely won't need to convince anyone of anythingYou start at an unmodified 1 for each of them, and buying higher attributes will become progressively more expensive the higher the attribute. Remember that you have +2 INT, +1 INTU, and -1 CHA from your choice last turn!
If you end up not spending BP to buy CHA... unfortunately, yes. I wouldn't sweat it overly much, it's less a malus than just a lack of advantage. So does this mean we have 0 CHA? Good thing our location means we most likely won't need to convince anyone of anything![]()
Research
Researching new science, and developing new technology is a key element of this Quest. Each project in the Research Tree has an associated cost: TSUKUYOMI must generate the Research Points (RP) necessary to complete the project.
Research Points are generated each turn as a result of a (xd100 + x*(nd10) + bonuses) roll, where x is TSUKUYOMI's Level and n is the value of the associated Attribute. Each project also has an associated PP cost; you cannot queue tasks exceeding the total PP you have. Spillover RP will be banked.
Energy and Space aren't as much of an issue because you've chosen The Hill, but have a read there too!
- Processing Power (PP): PP is based on TSUKUYOMI's hardware and the facilities it has at its disposal, and represent the amount of tasks it can handle. Each Research or Fabrication task has an associated PP cost; you cannot carry out tasks if your total PP expenditure is greater than your net PP.
Article: Gained Stronghold: The Hill

You spent 350BP!
You now have 650BP!
Article: Facilities are add-ons to your base that expand its functionality. They each incur a BP cost at CC, as well as a Space cost. In the future, you may carry out longterm projects to expand your base, improve your existing Facilities, or add new Facilities, but these will come with additional material costs that you may need to scavenge or manufacture from Glimmer. You may not build more/larger Facilities than you have space remaining in your base. You can build more than one of each facility.

Article: Each Science Package was once a library of data containing the sum-total knowledge of Golden Age humanity in one area, wrapped up into convenient packages organized into categories that a baby Warmind would find especially useful by your well-meaning sort-of-parents: the Artificial Intelligence Initiative.
The Tier of a Science Package denotes how advanced and complete your knowledge is in that category of sciences. Acquiring higher Tiers of a package will automatically give you full understanding of that category of knowledge – in-game, this is represented by a 20% Research Cost discount for projects that are that Tier or lower.
Ex1.: Project ABC (Cost: 100RP) is at Social Science <Tier 4>, and you have Tier 5. Project ABC's Research Cost is discounted to 80RP.
If a project requires a Tier higher than what you possess in that category, the Research Cost for that project will cost 20% more for each Tier level, and incur an increased chance for failure that scales with Tier disparity (QM Fiat may apply).
Ex2: Project DEF (Cost: 100RP) is Paracausal Mechanics <Tier 7>, and you have Tier 5. Project DEF's Cost is now 140RP.
Package Tiers:
Tier 1: Early Golden Age (Limited)
Tier 2: Early Golden Age (Complete)
Tier 3: Mid-Golden Age (Limited)
Tier 4: Mid-Golden Age (Complete)
Tier 5: Late-Golden Age (Limited)
Tier 6: Late Golden Age (Complete)
Tier 7: Beyond Golden Age (Limited)

Cost: Tier 1: Free | Tier 2: 10 | Tier 3: 20BP + ??? | Tier 4: 30BP + ??? | Tier 5: 50BP + ??? | Tier 6: 60BP + ??? | Tier 7: 100BP + ???
Article: AI Core Attribute scores are intrinsic to TSUKUYOMI's gestalt, and represent its aggregate ability across the entire consciousness. After Character Creation, you will only be able to increase Core Attributes by either spending XP or by acquiring new minds with remarkable Attribute scores.
QM Note: As I see some previous posts talking about focusing on data and engineering ability – also note that while Research is a big component in this Quest, so is actually going forth to impact the world. Those rolls are 1d100 + nd4 + Skill*5 against a DC or Opposed Test, where n = the rank of the associated Attribute. While you can definitely cover the gap by researching ways to improve Attributes and adding more minds to your gestalt, Remember that that'll take time to build toward.
Right now, the only limit to purchasing better Attributes is your BP budget. The cost scaling for Attributes is as follows:
Attribute Level [Cost] | 1 [FREE] | 2 [5BP] | 3 [15BP] | 4 [30BP] | 5 [50BP] | 6 [80BP] | 7 [120BP]
Your current Attribute scores are as follows:
Type (ABBREVIATION): Unmodified Score/Modified Score (Modifiers)For the purposes of Attribute purchase, please disregard Modifiers (i.e. you already have 1 in each stat, that's why they're free).
- Intellect (INT): 1/3 (+2)
- Intuition (INTU): 1/2 (+1)
- Charisma (CHA): 1/0 (-1)
- Willpower (WIL): 1 (0)
Is this the last round of things we'll be spending BP on, or is there another round of unit purchases after this?
We need a lvl 2 communications array for WARSAT access. So here is my out line
Facility: lvl 2 for the glimmer mine and research, level 1 for everything else
Data: about lvl 3 for bio and socio science, lvl 5 for information and exo science, lvl 4 everything else
Attribute: add one to charisma, and one to will if we have any left
I only did rough math, we have a lot of space left, BP is the limiting factor. I wanted most facilities, but we can drop the habitat and medical center for higher databases since our lo chance of being found means we can build those later. I picked high info because it covers AI which is us, and info warfare so accessing Warsat should be safer. As for exo, I'm paranoid and think we should have a back up piece of ourselves in space, plus AI with nanotechnology, T2 fanboy moment
