Let's Play Every Final Fantasy Game In Order Of Release [Now Finished: Final Fantasy Tactics]

I will get into the details a little later, but the Zodiac Stones are one of the larger connections to Ogre Battle, Matsuno's previous series for Quest which is a soft prequel to FFT, with it often being speculated Tactics plot was built on the bones of the never produced finale to that franchise (something Matsuno would do again with Crimson Shroud being built from Vagrant Story 2's drafts)

Within Ogre Battle, the Zodiac Stones were a gift from the gods which could only be used by the "worthy" (ie, someone with a high reputation score) for a massive power boost, having been previously been used by the Twelve Sages (basically the Zodiac Braves). Collecting all twelve would allow player character Destin to get the True Ending.
... So, they were basically the Chaos Emeralds, in that they were a bunch of supernatural gems of unspecified but great power that you had to collect the full set of to get a better ending?

To be fair the fight is perfectly doable with what Omi has rn, maybe a extra random battle or two can help if he doesn't have a jp backup save but even then with some creativity he prob has the tools to prevail even if he's spent all his jp in all likelyhood.

Monk Ramza is generally a pretty self-sufficient unit; Lifefont/Move HP for free minor recovery, physical defense to reduce damage, healing via chakra and an ability to shake off most status effects, and then use his Super Squire as the secondary ability set to Focus and Tailwind your way to dominance.

So I'd say maybe Omi just switched to Samurai a teensy bit early, at worst, if it's the fight Omi is pretty clearly referring to.

Eh to be fair loads of builds are self sufficient a good tanky geomancer/dragoon/knight/samurai/super squire is not going down easily if anything monks pitiful equip options make it weaker bar using stuff like equip armor(which takes up a valuable slot). Ramza is usually never the problem in fights anyhow if Ramza is going down easily your build is very concerning.

There is a reason why people wants Dark Knight to be available as a job, even if Holy/Divine Knight jobs are Guest-exclusive and you get to have some of them as part of your playable units.

Gaffgarion is a contender for one of the strongest knights you will ever meet in combat. One thing about FFT is that the devs are not reluctant to show you why a character is considered a legend even among their peers, and Gaff Gaffgarion is one of them.

Maybe Ramza's just a history nerd that focused on learning How Ancient Magic Works when all the other nobles were learning How To Scheme. Hes like "yeah summoning the Zodiac Knights with the Auracite, very easy, I could do that, and there arent any other ways to use those dumb rocks anyway"

the real reason for the stat growth gender divide for magic and physical stats in Ivalice is that all the guys keep sneaking out of classes to whack each other with swords and the girls keep ducking out of PE to read more books and Ramza just didn't neglect either

pain. agony, even. suffering, if you will.

I will be honest with you, I thought this was your reaction to the comparing of the Zodiac Stones and the Chaos Emeralds in the post immediately above at first.

By the by Omi, if your still on the next fight I suspect your still on maybe try to steal weapon you get a nice near one of a kind weapon there.

"is Ramza agender", the greatest derail in the history of SV, ended by a moderator after 12239 posts of Discourse™,

If Agrias is the Brienne and Ramza the Jon Snow, then I guess Gaffgarion is Jaime?

The fun part is, I don't even know what part of the next little while is causing this reaction.

The pilot has turned on the turbulence sign, and we don't know when it's going to end
unfortunately i bit off more than i could chew because i didn't know the game would introduce "several battles back to back without return to the map" so now i'm staring down the price of my hubris trying to figure out how much to even fit into one update

You see why people who played with single save slots yell and scream 'don't end up like I did!' Even as you keep saying you have an emulators habit of new save slots all the time?

I'd just split the updates. Maybe hang on a cliff hanger.

But I'm generally pretty 'more words please' about games stuck in my nostalgia, so I'm biased.
