It would be appreciated, Hedwig thinks, if everything PEAC was involved in went as smoothly as the Autumn of 1951. Could it have been better? Positive news from her new friend in the Marine Nationale would have been nice, she supposes, but frankly with the deadline so close she would have been surprised for it to shift.
There have been no exceptional developments, but who needs exceptional results when everyone is performing adequately. A second military grade missile is coming out of the workshop in full working order. Arne is in Sweden already, preparing the first to fly. Apolline would be flying out with her in the coming days to watch the launch. Hedwig had had to work to convince her to come, plying her with conversation and the gifts she'd returned from France.
Apolline had sniffed at Parisian chocolates and eyed the sea salt curiously, but Hedwig caught her smiling at both when Apolline thought she wasn't looking. Perhaps with time, she could bring the French woman back out of her shell.
Pre-Flight Preparations
Kronogård hasn't changed in the almost-a-year since Hedwig last visited. It is a cold, desolate place warmed by the joy and excitement of engineers and flight specialists. While they've been living out of temporary buildings that she's sure are the same ones as last time, they have managed to erect the Razić on its launch stand. Fortunately, its similarities to the VREDE mean it could simply be erected, awaiting its ignition.On a bitterly cold but fortunately clear day at the beginning of October, Hedwig stands with Apolline and a small crowd of minor ECN functionaries and waits for the preparations to be completed.

Touching Space: Complete a mission using a rocket with an initial delta-V of greater than 1500m/s. This flight must include the Max-Q Key Phase.
Initial Reward: 2C or 1 Clout
The Razić glints in the sun, cream skin almost glowing under the morning light. It is sleeker and taller than the VREDE, more capable too. It seems to Hedwig as though it is eager to leap into the sky, straining against the pipes and hoses that keep it locked to the ground.
Then the trucks roll away, the technicians scurrying from under the girders and scaffold that will support it in the first seconds of launch. Arne disappears into his own truck, watching the dials and readouts as his finger surely hovers over the big red button that will send this missile leaping into the air.
Hedwig glances at the battery of uniformed individuals, all but a few wearing thick service parkas to protect them from the bitter cold. She's not sure what they're looking for here - once the Razić has cleared the launch tower there will be barely anything to see. But nonetheless they are here.
Hedwig is glad to have Apolline beside her. She can feel the other woman's presence barely touching her shoulder. It is, above all else, soothing.
