This is important to me as a distinction, because if water is a good option for the mudcrow then that kind of evens out wind and sound for me.

Er, that vote closing wasn't on purpose. I was trying to set it to schedule but must have miss-clicked. Sorry about that, folks!

Can there be revelations that relate not to the forces of nature and physical phenomena, but to abstract concepts?
For example, concepts such as justice, dying, renewal and others like that?

Is a Mudcrow just able to use the element of mud, or can they use earth and water separately?
Technically, they can use earth and water separately, but mudcrows are much better at using them in tandem than they are separately.

Absolutely. Those tend to be much rarer as the human mind is simply not built to handle revelations of that magnitude, however. Even with the assistance of Angels, it takes a long time to be able to utilize even a small portion of an abstract revelation.

So, are we looking at something along the lines of Mudcrow having +1 Earth and Water, and +3 to Mud vs Stormcrow having +2 to Wind, Lightning, and Sound?

That is, this is almost never found among knights who need direct combat power more than a potential that will take many years to uncover?
Or does it mostly depend on Psyche? So that the angel would consider the cultivator smart enough to understand the revelation being given.

Something like that, anyways. It's honestly more mudcrow having +1 to earth and water and +4 to mud while greater stormcrow has +3 to wind, lightning, and sound.

That isn't the actual numbers or mechanics or anything to be clear, that's just the general abstraction.

Abstract revelations are nearly always found in Clerical Cultivators rather than Chivalric, correct.

The above count being obviously incorrect aside, Greater Stormcrow did indeed win the vote. More correct results here:

Turn 5.1 - Storm Crow? OH NO, STORM CROW!
[X] Begin Metamorphosis Now
-[X] Greater Stormcrow

Plump and fat from weeks of stuffing his belly full of food, Crowley tucks his beak beneath a wing as he wriggles deeper into his metamorphosis nest. Bits of shiny rock and polished metal decorate the straw, feathers, and leafy branches giving the nest its rounded shape. Unlike the nest a crow might construct for sleep or for family, the metamorphosis nest is designed to give as much protection as possible to the metamorphosing crow. As such, it blends in well with its surroundings. Once the process is done, the crow destroys the nest as it breaks free of the full-coverage cocoon.

Audrey watches her companion close his eyes and listens to his gentle snoozings, her heart full of contrary thought. Despite the admittedly lacking conversation, she has long grown used to the presence ever hovering over her shoulder. Already, the missing weight grows heavy on her mind, the absence of her Crowley digging its heels into the ground of her heart.

Only a few months until her soul is once more complete. Only a few more months until her Crowley returns to her.

Until then, however, church and sparring shall be her solace.

Spit flies from Royce Reids' slightly-too-wide lips as he stumbles back, nearly doubled over Audrey's fist still buried deep in his gut. The Squire of Slade Eldred's fighting skills are a far cry from the natural talents of herself or Chad Howlande, but he still fought better than poor Gilbert of Loxwale—who even now sat off to the side of the sparring field, nursing the broken nose Chad had accidentally given him from an errant blow.

Royce lashes out with a whip-fast archer's punch, his off-hand cocked back and ready to capitalise at a moment's lapse in Audrey's focus. It was a fine blow, the sort of attack that should've cracked her on the jawline and sent her stumbling under a hail of follow-up strikes.

Alas, not only is Audrey the better combatant, but she also far outclasses his cultivation. While the gap between Beads is nowhere near the ravine between Decades, she stands at the precipice of the Second Decade—nearly ready to step into the Third, in fact!—while Royce is barely on the Fourth Bead. Five Beads separate them, and those five Beads shall be Royce's defeat.

Slipping under the blow like a fisherbird's dive, Audrey's arm blurs into motion as her shoulder checks Royce's ribcage. Like a held breath finally escaping burning lungs, her elbow pulses with Soma-strength as it grinds into an already bruised stomach. Soma-strengthened skin fails beneath her strike, the impact sending ripples through flesh like the waves of the sea.

A phlegm-filled cough hacks free of Royce's throat as he staggers, completely off balance. His eyes glossy and his fingers limp, he sways off his feet. He topples, collapsing before Audrey's wicked smile.

And then his feet find firm footing as a sly grin spreads across his sharp-featured face.

"Gotcha," he says with a wink, as if that's supposed to mean anything.

Audrey goes to demand an answer, anger sparking in her heart at the blatant disrespect, but pauses. Not because she's realised some hidden truth or regained control over her emotions, no, but because her limbs simply refuse her command. She can't move; why?!

Wiping his spittle-coated chin clean with the back of a hand, Royce seems to read Audrey's mind as he answers with a chuckle, "The Reids are a small house of little standing, so it's no surprise you don't know of my family's bloodline. Touch me too many times and, well, your body becomes mine."

Ah, so she's lost this spar, has she? If Royce has command over her body, he could order her hands to pummel her face.

Audrey stumbles as she finds her limbs her own once more, only to stop before an outstretched hand.

"Good spar," Royce says as Audrey scowls and goes to shake his hand—it wouldn't do for the Heiress of the Eotenslaga to show poor sportsmanship, after all!—only for a spark to fire in her head as Audrey yanks her hand away.

Royce laughs, pivots on the spot, and saunters away, but not before calling over his shoulder one last time, "Next spar, maybe you'll win?"

Lightning buzzes beneath her flesh, the black-red bolts begging to be unleashed. Audrey takes a step towards Royce, the earth cracking beneath her feet as fervour hastens to her side. White sparks glint from the corners of her gaze, her fists curling into tight balls of manifest violence.

Next time? Oh, there won't be a next ti-

Audrey freezes, a weight suddenly settling across her shoulders and forcing her to her knees. The pressure of Slade Eldred's bloodline puts a stop to any ambitions of violence she might have, replaced by a sense of utter fear.

Bone-chilling droplets of icy fear drip down her spine, animalistic instincts warning her of a threat far beyond her strength.

And then, just as quickly as it came, the fear vanishes; though the weight on Audrey's shoulders lingers all the same.

Suddenly, Audrey doesn't feel much like sparring anymore.

Please plan out Audrey's activities and training over the next three months:

Man, we really need to get her some Gregorian, Meditative Chants. Help curb her worst impulses. Killing a guy because he outsmarted her going pretty far.

[ ] Plan: Slowing Your Temper
-[ ] [Focus Action] It would be shameful to lash out over a sparring loss of all things. Learn some calming exercises. Maybe even a Prayer.
-[ ] [Secondary Action] Spend some time with the other squires doing things other than sparring.
-[ ] [Secondary Action] Attend Mass.
-[ ] [Chancellery] Slowing Down for the Commons
-[ ] Training and Zeal (14 Training, 26 Zeal)
--[ ] 7 Training on new calming technique.
--[ ] 16 Zeal on Psyche

I think learning to slow down would pair well with the focus action here. I also think that maybe our Psyche being 2 behind our other stats might contribute to her lack of self control a bit? Not sure about how to spend the other points tho.

Would Litany of resolve have helped against the blood line here or would it not because its techniquely dos not "control our mind"?

Also, can he now just take control of Audrey body whenever he feels like?

I'm inclined to say that there aren't really any Rotes or Meditations to just...not get angry. Litany of Resolve, especially at higher levels of training, would definitely help against people actively trying to provoke her, though. It helps against external mental influence and people trying to goad Audrey into a rage counts. Now, that wouldn't help much with her rage here since this was not really intentional goading per se, but it's worth keeping in mind.

A Focus Action working on her temper, however, seems possible to me.

Audrey doesn't know if it would help with that as she didn't have it up at the time. It would definitely have helped against the fear effect from Slade, but probably not enough to change the outcome due to the power disparity.

Also, can he now just take control of Audrey body whenever he feels like?

A bloodline that allowed that with no restrictions would probably be a lot better known unless it was being kept extremely secret (in which case Royce wouldn't have used it here). Families with powerful bloodlines generally assume powerful positions in society fairly rapidly...the Reid Bloodline are nobility but small and new and without the kind of reputation you'd expect if they could do that.

You don't know the exact limitations, but it's almost positive to have a variety of them.

[X] Plan: red black crow.
-[X] [Focus Action] make sure Crowley is as comfy as he could be and that you're there when he finish his metamorphism
-[X] [Secondary Action] Spend some time with the other squires doing things other than sparring.
-[X] [Secondary Action] Attend Mass.
-[X] [Chancellery] Red-Black Lightning.
-[X] 16 zeal to get combat 5.
-[X] 8 zeal to get tactics 4.
-[X] 6 training to refined faulty ground.
-[X] 8 training to clever deflection (22/27).

I don't think our psych attribute really has anything to do with Audry tamper and pride, and I'm weary of relying on meditations to solve/deal with it as it would feel like it would leave us relying on crutches.

A focused action on reflecting I also don't like; I don't see it really helping and I would rather Audry take her mind of it for a bit and then come back.

As for training, we probably do want psych 5 at some point but I've decided to get combat 5 and tactics 4 first as that is more useful.

Other than that, I continue on mastering clever deflection and rein faulty ground, with the intentions of next turn getting ground shape 3 and finally mastering clever deflection.

-[X] 16 zeal to get combat 5.
-[X] 8 zeal to get tactics 4.

So, this is totally legal, but it seems worth noting given the seeming goals here that you are 6 Zeal away from hitting the 3rd Decade which is a vast power up on a lot of levels. Like, it's a vastly bigger combat buff than Combat 5 is.

How do new bloodlines come about? Or more specifically how might have this bloodline have come about?

Various ways. Sometimes particularly impressive heroes just pass down their abilities, other times someone has a kid with a supernatural creature (or, in Pagan circles, bears a child of a god), other times two seemingly unrelated or very minor bloodlines combine into something new and exciting and powerful. And various other possibilities, of course.

This could be any of the above or something else entirely.

Right, not that I think it matters? I don't think were going to be in any more battles up till the tournament and I would like to polish the skills more then just get pure combat ability/cultivation right now. We can get the third decade next turn. (and this isnt beacus im too lazy to edit stuff).
