People are sleeping on Beacon because we can probably spend training on a meditation to do it instead while wanting Dragonslayer when we already have a meditation for that and it has no fervor cost.

To be clear, in both cases, the Armour Trait would stack with such a Meditation. So wanting to double up on one or the other is valid. And, of course, Meditations take Capacity. So there's the question of which effect you always want.

[X] Plan: Tournament Prep

[X][BLESSING] Dragonslayer: You have faced the Dragon in your heart and driven it to flight--mere external threats are nothing compared to that. Has a similar effect to Litany of Resolve, but requires no Capacity or Fervour to maintain. Does stack with Litany of Resolve, making you virtually impervious to mental influence, though this still only has limited effect against reasonable suggestions.

–[X] 9 Training for a prayer to help with negotiations/haggling for items with administration

Huh. Just noticed something about this...this is totally valid and will work, but in the interests of full disclosure, will fall under Diplomacy rather than Administration. I think looking at it previously I just didn't think about the skill at all, but negotiation/haggling has been previously established as a Diplomacy thing.

A merchant basically needs two skills in this system, Administration for economic knowledge, and Diplomacy for haggling/salesman stuff. I don't think this actually makes any material change in the plan or how good it is, but it does seem like something people should be informed of this so they aren't surprised if the plan wins and this Meditation shows up under Diplomacy.

The text of Dragonslayer straight up says the two are synergistic to the point of making her nigh-immune to mental influences or compulsions beyond a well reasoned argument

I can't think of a counter that would be better to address one of the most common ways to respond to Audrey's build type

Hey @DeadmanwalkingXI question for next turns actions.

Would Shadowing Rothulf Waering to get some first hand experience running and managing a territory be an option?

He did say he owed us a favor for not fucking up with the dragon and I can see diligent Audry being extra enough to wana get some first hand experience so that everyone sees how great she is.

Huh. I don't see why that wouldn't be a valid action. If he has any secret stuff you obviously wouldn't get that, but Audrey's demonstrated being able to keep her mouth shut, so it'd need to be pretty secret. He's also a higher lord than Audrey is likely to be, so only some stuff would transfer over, but the stuff that would is probably pretty relevant.

To be clear, she probably isn't getting a Knight's Fee immediately on being knighted. Alfred would need a public reason to give her a good one (which would be on the agenda, due to the whole dragon thing), so it'll probably wait for the first decently impressive thing she does. But, that said, this would likely be her last chance to follow a working lord around like that, given Knightly duties, so it's still a very valid choice.

I dont like not having scouting 4, but I dislike having only exactly enough Zeal for 1 Finale even more.
It means we cannot use Armour Charge, boost Rebuke or add damage to attacks without making it impossible to use a Finale. If Audrey is using a Finale, it'd probably means she needs additionally Zeal expenditure in that particular combat.

The vote on turn plan is currently tied with less than two hours to go, and even Plan Bash out basics - athletics and scouting version in 3rd place isn't so far behind it couldn't win. If you have a preference in regard to training plan especially, now's the time to vote.

[X][BLESSING] Mastery of the Blade: You are the Blade, and the Blade is you--extends the benefits of Knightly Armor to your readied weapon, making it capable of resisting (Though not piercing and otherwise damaging) Steel, and renders you nearly immune to being disarmed or your weapon broken.
[X][BLESSING] Beacon of Radiance: It is not enough to merely stand on the field of battle, you must be the center of attention! Makes you easier to notice when you are not actively concealing yourself, and makes you look more dangerous of a target--drawing attacks to you... And by extension, away from more vulnerable allies. Also has a modest boost to your social efforts when in armor
[X][BLESSING] Bond of War: The unity between Knight and Companions allows for unmatched coordination, how much better could you be if you could extend this to your allies? The Bond of War allows for this, letting you link with (Decade) allies, smoothing coordination between them all and making it easier to combine your strengths

Audrey's Armor has reached a fun level of synergy with itself.

Inviolate of Form, rejecting all that would corrode Audrey and see it rendered to nothing.

Inviolate of Function, such that nothing that would seek to bar Audrey's path by hand or magic can prevent her from moving or acting.

With Dragonslayer, she is Inviolate of Thought, and it is fascinating that Audrey is basically crafting an armor that exemplifies a particular line from the Gospel of Mark.
Mark 7:14-16 said:
14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you and understand;

15 there is nothing from outside the man that entering into him can defile him, but the things which come out of him, those are what defile the man.

16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.

Audrey's Armor is very much built to prevent anything from outside have any true touch upon her that is not straight up harm and pain.

Combined with the Revelation of Light, Audrey is basically well on her way to becoming not just a Temple in the Cultivation sense, but nearly an outright physical Tabernacle, in the same sense as the tent of Moses was the place of communion with G-d.

Aside from shadowing a more experienced Lord, perhaps we could go ask spiritual clergy about how to foster and maintain the spiritual health of the people we are guarding?

O nice it looks like we can use the diplo light meditation in combat as a soft taunt. Doesn't force combat or anything but highlights us noticeably. Could be really useful for the people trying to stay in the background or draw the eyes of a glory or prestige seeker out to target us first.

Not at all reliably. It draws attention, but not more than some other things might, and not nearly as much as a proper taunt-designed Prayer...on a mechanical level, it would give you a bonus on a social roll for a mundane taunt attempt (as it does on other appropriate social rolls), but that's about it.

O question is there a meditation/rote that would let us dump fervour into to boost an attack and or defence rolls. Like say at refined you dump in 4 fervour you get a +1 to a defense roll. Don't know if it would be that expensive but that's the idea.

The reason would be something to spend any over flow as the replenish comes in and as an o shit button

No, that's not how the Fervour economy works. You can get a Meditation that gives a specific bonus for a specific price, but not just a Fervour sink like this.

Fervour constructs can only accept so much power, which is why you can't put more than double the normal amount into Rotes to get through Rebuke. The same principle applies here.

Oh, right, here's a think before I sleep.

EDIT: Audrey once again phones it in with dealing with normal people! 0 Successes!
Alectai threw 6 4-faced dice. Reason: How is people formed? Total: 12
4 4 1 1 2 2 3 3 1 1 1 1

Technically, that's 1 success due to how the success rules work. It sure ain't done, though. Maybe she was distracted by the upcoming tournament.
"Hmm, what do regular people need to thrive?.. Remember Matthew 7:12, Audrey, 'In all things, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' "
"…"
"In other words, what people need is lavish tournaments where they get to show off their hard earned skills and with amazing prizes for good performance."
