[X] In a world of Metal and Gears.
To be summoned from the Throne of Heroes is an odd experience.
The dull, monochrome world around Kiyohime seemed to fade into colour once again, but nowhere near as much as it had been before.
She was human again, now. What had happened at the end of her life, with her wrath spiralling out of control... It had been undone. She had been reborn.
Perhaps... Anchin had been reborn as well? He may have been a horrible person who broke her heart, but... She was not the draconic monster she had died as. She was... As she was.
Perhaps, when Anchin had been reborn, he had gone through something similar? Perhaps he was the kind priest who had called her beautiful and promised to return, not the monster who had betrayed her and abandoned her.
Opening her eyes to the world once more, Kiyohime looked at her Master.
It was Anchin. She was sure of it. He had to be. Why he was wearing a gas mask, Kiyohime wasn't sure, but it was unrecognisably him.
At the back of her mind, Kiyohime felt a psychic presence, trying to read her thoughts. Anchin was the only one here, so she let it in.
That was new, but if Anchin could read minds now, then it was good. She would be able to show him how much she loved him, and he would forgive her for killing him, and they could be together at last.
After a moment of reading her thoughts, Anchin turned away from her.
"Nope. Not touching that. Nu-uh. Not happening."
And with that, he began to levitate, and floated away, chanting "Nope Nope Nope" as he went.
Kiyohime frowned.
He... Was still upset about his death, wasn't he?
Yes, that would make sense. She had murdered him, after all. Even if he deserved it, he wouldn't just forgive it.
Perhaps she should just forget about him. The monochrome world without love was horrible, but if he wasn't going to love her anyway...
...What was she thinking! Leave Anchin, without even trying to make things work? No, she couldn't do that!
She could salvage things. Make Anchin realize how much he meant to her. And if that didn't work, she'd keep trying, until she met someone else, or it worked!
Nodding to herself, Kiyohime set off in pursuit of her Master.
"Ah, Anchin! Wait!"
Running after him, Kiyohime quickly realized that she had no idea which way Anchin went.
And for that matter, where was she?
The Servant looked around for a minute, getting a look at her surroundings.
She was in some sort of hallway, with windows to her left. Other then that, she couldn't tell.
As she looked around, someone began walking around the corner.
He was an old man, with a redish-brown trenchcoat and a white moustache. He was he, and was taking a sip when he turned the corner.
He stopped walking when he saw Kiyohime, and observed her for a second before he began to talk.
"A Servant, huh..." He mused, in a Russian accent. "Well, between the fact that you're the only Servant I can sense right now, and that you haven't torn my face off yet, I'm going to assume that you're the Servant that Mantis was meant to summon. Where is he, anyway?"
Kiyohime frowned. "Mantis?"
The man mirrored the Servants frown. "You... Did he seriously run off at the sight of you? I thought it was touching girls that was his problem, not... Well, never mind. Since you obviously didn't get to the point where he introduces himself, allow me to explain."
He gestured around him with his left arm, while keeping his right arm still.
"This place, here? Foxhound headquarters. Military task force. Your Master and I are both members."
He took a sip of his coffee, before he continued.
"Since you don't know any names, I'm Revolver Ocelot, and your Master is Psycho Mantis. A telepath, and a telekinetic."
Kiyohime muttered the names under her breath, nodding as she did so.
"No interruptions? Good. I hate to be interrupted when I'm in the middle of a monologue." Ocelot said. "Anyway, long story short, the United States Government seized a magical device a few decades back- The 'Holy Grail.' It summons Servants, such as yourself, and makes them fight for a wish, which is granted when all but one of the Servants are dead."
"I know how the Holy Grail works." Kiyohime replied. "It told me when I was summoned, when explaining the basics of the modern era."
Ocelot nodded. "Good. Won't have to go on for long. Anyway, as you can probably tell, the Holy Grail activated a while back. The United States doesn't want any of America's enemies to have a shot at the free wish, so we've been trying to summon all the Servants ourselves. Foxhound doesn't know who else has summoned a Servant, if anyone, but we know that you are one of the first- Psycho Mantis is the world's most powerful psychic, and one of the few people who can support a Servant without the Grail's help, without his own abilities suffering too much."
Ocelot took a sip of his coffee, and looked at Kiyohime again. "Though now that I think about it, aren't you a bit sane for a Berserker?"
Kiyohime smiled. "I suppose Anchin's presence is enough for me to retain my mind."
Ocelot blinked. "Anchin?"
"My Master." Replied the Berserker.
Ocelot looked like he was going to object, before his eyes started to shine. "Wait, Anchin... You wouldn't happen to be Kiyohime, would you?"
Oh, he had worked out her True Name. Perhaps she shouldn't call Anchin by his name in future, so that her enemies didn't do the same.
Bowing slightly, Berserker replied. "Yes, that would be me."
Ocelot didn't reply for a while. His eyes seemed to show him fantasizing about something, and his lips slowly twisted into a grin.
After a minute or so, Kiyohime cleared her throat. "Ocelot?"
The old man blinked, before remembering what was going on. "Oh, uh... Sorry, Kiyohime. You know how we old people are. Always getting distracted and stuff..."
Rubbing the back of his head, Ocelot continued. "Well, anyway, I was going to take you down to see the rest of Foxhound... But now that I think about it, you might want to see Anchin. What do you think?"
[X] Go meet Foxhound. Anchin will come to you when he is ready to see you.
[X] Go find Anchin. You have a lot to talk about~ ♥
