"Look, Roxas," you try to reassure him, "it was just a bit of a fluke." He's quiet, so you continue, "I've had my own share of screw ups here and there." You laugh. "Honestly? You were doing better than me half the time, and that's really saying something, considering all I've been through."
"…prove it," he says. "Prove you've screwed up more than me."
You point at your right shoulder, where there's a scar that heavily resembles a bite mark. "This is from one of me, Donald, and Goofy's first fights together." Looking at Donald and Goofy, you ask, "Remember Cerberus?"
"Don't remind me," mutters Donald, rubbing his feathers.
"Anyway, what I'm saying is that everyone messes up once in awhile—it's no biggie." You pat him on the back. "C'mon. Let's head out."
Roxas looks up at the castle. He's quiet until finally saying, "All right. I'm in."
And with that, you're all beamed up to the gummi ship.
"So, with the barriers back up between the worlds, these highways were made from gates," Goofy reads from an instruction manual Yen Sid left in the ship. "Looks like there's two worlds up ahead."
Roxas's expression brightens. "Does this mean we're gonna start visiting other worlds?"
"That we are!" you reply. "Everyone ready?"
"I am!" cheers Goofy.
"But Haru, you can't drive!" Donald points out, putting the ship on autopilot. "Not after that one time you almost hit an asteroid!"
The gummi ship blasts off, leaving Hollow Bastion behind.

"The waves are getting steep," said Riku, looking at the water. "Furl the sail."
"Right." The moment Sora went over to do that, a powerful gale blew right through the sail, splitting the mast in two. He only had a few seconds to duck, but Riku wasn't so lucky, being knocked into the sea with the mast. As Riku grabbed ahold of the log, Sora reached for him. "Riku!"
"I'm fine!" his friend reassured him.
The ocean raged, and a whirlpool formed that swallowed the sea itself, with a dark abyss in the center.
"What's that?" Riku murmured, and his question was answered seconds later as huge purple and black tentacles shot out of the water. Then, with a splash, the cackling, giant form of Ursula rose from the water.
"Oh, he was right. Those wretched guppies are here! Well, I have a bone to pick with one of you!" Ursula shouted, glancing at Riku at the last statement.
"Can it, Ursula!" countered Riku, summoning Way to the Dawn as he used her tentacles as a series of platforms. "I chose my path already!"
"Wait, you know her?!" cried Sora. "Does this have something to do with the test?"
"She was one of Maleficent's allies!" he called, getting back to the raft. "You can work out the test thing later!"
"All right!" Sora replied.
"Sorry, dearies, but I won't fall for that trick!" The cecaelia's tentacles lifted the raft. "It's high time you were punished, you little traitor!" With a cackle, she took a deep breath, and spat out a blinding orange beam at the same time that Sora cast Fire.
Even as the beam singed Sora, he was still taking in the fact that Ursula was enormous—he could only compare the Ice Titan, Chernabog, and Ansem's battleship to her in size. "Freeze!" he yelled, casting Blizzard, and the ice chunk scratched the side of her face as she caught her breath.
That was where Riku jumped at Ursula, doing a combo on her face with ease.
"What's wrong, sweetie?!" Ursula taunted, smirking at Sora. "Still groggy from your little nap? Worried you can't measure up to Riku or your clone?" She raised her arm and called down lightning bolts, though Sora did a physical attack on her with the Kingdom Key.
At the same time, his attacks were a lot weaker. "Sora!" Riku called, getting out of the way of another beam. "Don't listen to her! She's just trying to psyche you out!"
Ursula laughed. "Please, honey. Try and compare up to them in the test!" She made some distance between them and the raft and said, "Now, get ready for this!" She spat out a series of bubbles, which made Sora even more drenched than he already was by the storm, then called down more lightning.
This time, Sora was more prepared, dodge rolling out of the way of the bolts and another beam. "Riku, we have to do this together!"
Riku nodded. "Right!"
They dashed across the raft in sync and delivered a blow to the sea witch with all of their might.
Almost as if she was completely unharmed, Ursula just… disappeared—with a shockwave that threw them both into the sea.
As Sora and Riku sank into the murky depths, a light in the distance was the only thing keeping them from falling unconscious.
'That's a… Keyhole?' thought Sora. He had only seen Twilight Town's, the Coliseum's, Neverland's, and Hollow Bastion's—but this one was just floating there.
And he had sealed the Islands' Keyhole as soon as they got back.
So how was this possible?
Maybe this was one of the Sleeping Keyholes that Master Yen Sid had mentioned.
The Kingdom Key appeared in his hand, and Riku's the same. A beam of light shot out of their Keyblades, opening the Keyhole and lighting up the abyss. The glow swallowed them both up, and moments before Sora drifted into sleep, he saw a robed figure.
"This world has been connected."
//For a bit of a reference, Twilight Town's Keyhole was digitized so that it could only be sealed with access to DiZ's computer.
EDIT: And honestly… I feel like it'd make sense for Sora to have an inferiority complex in this AU.
[X] Talk to…
-[x] Goofy
--[x] Ask him what life back home was like for the past year.
[X] Which world?
-[x] Land of Dragons
"So, Goofy," you say, looking at the captain of the guard. "How were things back home over the past year?"
"Gawrsh, I'd say they were more peaceful than usual," Goofy answers. "The Cornerstone protects Disney Castle from the Heartless, and no Nobodies in sight." He looks out the window. "No sign of the king… but at least I got to spend time with my kid!"
"Hey, maybe he's at this world," Roxas suggests. "Just try to keep your hopes up."
"Of course I will!"
"Speaking of worlds, here we are!" Donald announces, and all of you look to see what world you're approaching. "The Land of Dragons!"
"A world I've never been to before!" you comment. "This'll be a learning experience for all of us! Beam us down!"
Donald presses a button on the ship, and that very thing happens, sending you down to the world's surface.
You land in a bamboo forest dotted by rock formations, from small boulders to large stone slabs. Notably, Donald and Goofy's hats have been replaced by straw hats, and you hear two voices, one male and one female, not that far away. In addition, there's the faint smell of smoke.
"…so, what do we do now?" asks Roxas.
"Isn't it obvious?" you respond. "We go towards the bickering."
"Of course…" groans Donald.
You grin at him, then make your way forward. Your shoes make a crunching sound against the bamboo leaves, and by the time the voices have gotten audible, the bamboo is way too thick.
"All right, dishonor! Dishonor on your whole family! Make a note of this. Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow…"
"Stop! I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm just nervous. I've never done this before."
Slipping through the bamboo, you gesture for the others to follow.
And Goofy trips, pushing Donald, who quacks, stumbling and shoving you both into the clearing. Your face in the dirt, you hear two voices scream, one more familiar to you than the other. Looking up, you see Mulan in her armor with a black horse nearby, and above her right shoulder is a thin red form that you recognize.
"…Mushu?" you groan, wiping the dust from your eyes.
"You know him?" asks Roxas.
"That's right! You've heard of me!" Mushu scurries down Mulan's shoulder. "I'm little, lethal, and legendary! Now y'all scram before I get my dragon dander up!"
You sit up, brushing yourself off with a laugh. "Mushu, it's me! Haru!"
Mushu blinks twice, then laughs. "Well, fry me up like a dumpling! Nice to see ya, Haru! I take it Sora and Riku are around?"
"Do you know him?" Mulan wonders.
"Know him? We used to kick all kinds of bad guy butt together! And I see Donald and Goofy back there, too!"
Donald lets out an unintelligible quack, while Goofy just waves. "Howdy, Mushu!"

I wanted to draw a world cover but I keep running out of paper space. Votes'll close at 7 PM EST, but I gotta ask—anyone who knows how to draw traditional art know how to control tremors?
EDIT: …in hindsight? I feel like this'll work better as a fic than as a quest, since I feel like with all the shit that's gone off the rails, keeping it in second person limited is a bad idea. Should I turn this into a fic instead, to show the full story?
I decided that second-person… really isn't the best approach after how off the rails things are. So, the sequel quest is being rebooted as a fic. I'll link it once I have the prologue written.
Sorry for the sudden necro, but I suppose you're wondering why I came back here.
I recently realized that the story works far better as a quest, like I initially envisioned it, as it addresses the core issues that have been haunting the story as a fanfiction (characterization, direction, and doing it all on my own) and bring back some of what made the prequel so fun in the first place.
For those who weren't following the fic or need a refresher, let me provide a quick recap of what happened during its run as a fanfiction. Here's a summary of the key events that have transpired since we last left off in the quest format:
Land of Dragons: Went roughly the same as canon, though Xigbar showed up a visit early, dropping a few hints. Roxas gets back his confidence.
Beast's Castle: Xaldin was Norted, curious about a girl. Haru learned that Xehanort visited the castle in his youth and that Keyblade wielders tried to steal the Beast's rose. He uses the Beast's magic mirror for Mickey's location and confirmation that Aqua is still alive. President Shinra, Scarlet, and Hojo are all confirmed to exist.
Hollow Bastion 2: 100 Acre Wood stuff. Zack somehow was revived OOC and was Norted to boot. Kairi got her Keyblade. Haru invites her to come along, while Roxas stays behind.
Olympus Coliseum: Haru sees things that don't exist in his meta knowledge—gray hooded wraiths that just fly around menacingly. Kairi's inexperience leads to her getting badly injured and Donald and Goofy leaving to get her to a doctor. Sephiroth peeks in. Leon and Yuffie temporarily join, and the Mysterious Figure shows up with a Norted Demyx.
Now: Haru has just opened Olympus Coliseum's gate after defeating the Hydra, and left that world with Leon and Yuffie. He feels guilty about what happened with Kairi and uncertain between the presence of both the wraiths and the Mysterious Figure.
I'll be writing the next update soon. We're not heading to Disney Castle yet, so it's time for a bit of a breather.
Haru's profile has been updated with his current Keyblades, spells, and abilities.
As Cid's gummi ship flies away from Olympus Coliseum and back towards Hollow Bastion, you casually scroll through posts on your Gummiphone, trying to distract yourself from all that happened in the Underworld.
You glance over at Leon and Yuffie, who are sitting nearby. Leon is polishing his gunblade, focused and methodical as always, while Yuffie fiddles with a small gadget, her brow furrowed in concentration.
"So…" You aren't sure if either of them were able to see those ghosts, so your focus shifts to the other new threat. "About that other guy in the cloak, with the blue laser blade. Seeing what he said about history repeating himself and destiny… with the black cloak, he's gotta be with the Organization." You shrug. "Fits Xehanort's whole worldview, seeing how his Heartless was rambling about the 'passage of fate.'"
The hooded figure remained silent for a moment, the ethereal blade in his hand casting an eerie glow in the dimness of the cavern while the wraiths continued their relentless circling.
"I'm someone who understands the weight of time," the stranger responded. "Someone who knows that history has a way of repeating itself, no matter how hard you try to change it."
Haru narrowed his eyes, his grip on the Keyblade tightening. "That doesn't answer my question. Why are you here?"
The hooded boy tilted his head slightly. "I'm here to ensure that certain events unfold as they must. You see, Haru, destiny has a way of correcting itself—even when people try to defy it."
Leon pauses his polishing, his gaze lifting to meet yours. "Yeah, it does fit," he says, his voice steady as the ship passes by Beast's Castle. "But the Organization is more than just a bunch of cloaked figures. And it sounds like he knows more about what's going on than we do."
"Which sucks," you admit, once again cursing Xemnas for what he did. If he hadn't stolen most of your meta knowledge, you'd know who this was.
Yuffie looks up from her gadget, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "He said something about history repeating itself. Does that mean we're stuck in some kind of loop? Like no matter what we do, things are going to end up the same?"
"Xehanort wants to start another Keyblade War," you point out. "In a way, that's history repeating itself." You look through the notes your phone, on what you remember at least. "So we have a new Xehanort running around that I know nothing about other than him being a dirty fighter. Great."
"Either way, we're here," says Leon as the ship descends towards Hollow Bastion. "For now, let's catch our breaths."
As you're beamed down into the castle town's central squate, you feel the familiar sensation of your feet returning to solid ground. The air is cooler here, filled with the scent of flowers and mildew. Hollow Bastion looms behind you, its towering structures contrasting the Underworld's dark caverns.
The moment you land, you hear a gruff voice call out, "Hey, there they are!"
Cid comes striding over, his usual cigarette hanging from his lips. His eyes are narrowed, examining the ship with the intensity of someone who's all too familiar with its quirks and faults. "Well? She's still in one piece, right?"
You give a small smile, feeling a bit lighter seeing Cid's familiar face. "Yeah, she's fine. Might need a tune-up, but nothing major."
Cid lets out a relieved huff. "I take it you're itchin' to know where everyone is, are ya?" he asks you.
You nod. "Yeah, that's be appreciated," you reply.
"Well, Kairi's still pretty banged up from the Underworld," Cid starts. "Aerith's in the marketplace selling flowers, while Donald and Goofy are out on Heartless patrol. Roxas and Axel are training in the old loon's forest, and Fairy Godmother went to her home world."
You turn to Leon and Yuffie. "So, what are your plans?"
Leon adjusts his gunblade. "I'll check in with the others on the Heartless patrol. Might as well see if they need backup."
Yuffie fiddles with her shuriken, glancing at you with a grin. "And I think I'll check up on Kairi."
You nod in agreement. "Sounds good. Just gimme a moment and I'll decide."

For newcomers to the thread or AU, a recap of the previous quest! Figured this was necessary to make it more friendly to new blood.
An individual awakened in Sora's body, with the voices of Ventus and Vanitas present in his head and knowledge of the past and future. Before the Destiny Islands were even destroyed, he tried getting to Riku, and started sequence breaking in Traverse Town, sealing the Keyhole earlier than in canon.
At the same time, Organization XIII had a much more significant presence, even after teaming up with Donald and Goofy. In Wonderland, this individual learned he was a replica and met Axel, along with stopping Alice from being kidnapped, and in Deep Jungle, he learned his purpose—an attack dog created for the Organization to collect hearts.
During the second visit to Traverse Town, he truly sent things off the rails by telling Riku everything, and took a name—Haru—and his own identity. While he may have revealed Xehanort's endgame to Maleficent, who personally kidnapped Alice, the damage had already been done.
In Agrabah, Haru was starting to grow a heart, while Riku was working against Maleficent behind her back, sneaking out Alice, while keeping Jasmine from getting captured. In addition, he spoke to none other than DiZ. Meanwhile, during the visit to Atlantica, he learned the location of Sora, and actually made Vanitas question whether or not he should be loyal to Xehanort. But by the time he visited Halloween Town, he confided to Riku whether or not he'd disappear if Sora awakened.
Haru traveled to Twilight Town, where he battled the Dream Eater that was keeping Sora from waking up—and meant that Sora was the one who now has the Keyblade. They had a quick detour to the 100 Acre Wood, took part in the Hercules Cup, where Haru learned he was connected to the Keyblade War, and Kairi's heart returned to Sora in Neverland, where Riku became openly against Maleficent after Hook's defeat. Meanwhile, Alice and Jasmine were captured while the party was in Neverland.
Arriving at Hollow Bastion, Haru learned that the reason he knows the future and the past is because of how he absorbed the echoes of a Keyblade wielder who read the Book of Prophecies. He stood up to Xemnas and Xigbar, getting a Keyblade of his own, and traveled up to battle Maleficent, while Ansem possessed Riku by force.
Riku-Ansem stabbed Maleficent with the Keyblade of heart, sending her heart to the past, and afterwards, the party confronted him in the Grand Hall, where Riku managed to get Ansem out of his body. Sora sacrificed himself to free the hearts of the princesses, and there was a brief confrontation with Organization XIII before the party had to flee.
The light in Kairi's heart changed Sora back, and in Traverse Town, everyone found Roxas, who was safe. Kairi gave Sora her lucky charm, and they returned to Hollow Bastion, defeating the Behemoth and sealing the Keyhole. They took part in the Hades Cup and the Gold Match, where Riku tried to use his darkness for good, and destroyed the Phantom haunting Neverland's clock tower.
Returning to Hollow Bastion, they saw the Beast wounded, and went to battle Xemnas. It was a tough battle, and by the end, Haru had lost over half of his meta knowledge, but Xemnas was destroyed. With Riku injured, Haru went with the Trinity Trio to End of the World.
Traveling through End of the World, Haru and Sora talked with Ansem over the nature of darkness and their motives, defeating Chernabog and reaching the remains of the Destiny Islands. They continued arguing over Xehanort's endgame, and how balance is pointless without anyone to live in it before destroying World of Chaos.
Ansem was destroyed by the light within Kingdom Hearts, and with Aqua's help, the door to darkness was closed, restoring all the worlds that had been destroyed by the Heartless.
The Destiny Trio, Donald, Goofy, and Haru all returned to the Destiny Islands, but sometime later, Ven had to be removed from Haru's heart by Naminé, as he had taken the brunt of Xemnas' attack that had removed much of Haru's future vision. They said their goodbyes, and Haru started living with Roxas, his quote-unquote "brother" in Twilight Town.
You glance around the central square of Hollow Bastion, taking in the familiar sights. The cracked stones beneath your feet, the distant hum of the town's mechanical workings, the ever-present tension in the air—it all feels like a strange home away from home. In a way, it's a similar vibe that you got from Traverse Town's First District.
"Come on," Leon calls back to you, already a few steps ahead. "There could still be Heartless around."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming," you mutter, darting after him. Your head's still focused on all that happened in the Underworld, but you pass through the marketplace, briefly waving to Aerith before continuing past Merlin's house.
Soon enough, you reach the bailey, with its view of the distant Villain's Vale, and call, "Donald! Goofy! I'm back!"
As soon as your voice rings out, you hear the unmistakable sound of Goofy's footsteps running up the stairs. Before you can brace yourself, you're wrapped in a bear hug, his long arms nearly squeezing the air out of you.
"Good to see ya again, Haru!" Goofy exclaims, and you can't help but grin, despite the ache in your spine.
"Yeah, we were worried sick!" agrees Donald, his eyes narrowed. "What took ya so long? You know better than to keep us waiting!"
You chuckle, patting Goofy on the back before turning to face Donald. "Sorry, Donald. The Underworld wasn't exactly a vacation spot."
Donald huffs, crossing his arms. "Well, as long as you're okay," he mutters.
Goofy releases you from his hug. "We got a lot to catch up on, don't we? Things ain't been the same without ya."
You nod. "Yeah, we do. But it feels good to be back." After a brief pause, you add, "I just can't shake what happened down in the Underworld."
Donald raises an eyebrow. "What d'ya mean?"
You take a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "It's those ghosts. They were acting strange by the end. Like they were up to something."
"Weird how?" asks Goofy.
"Hades set the Hydra on Hercules, and Herc made sure the Hydra was 200% dead," you explain with a wince. "Then when we came back up, the ghosts showed up before we saw the Hydra, 200% alive." You groan. "So the Games are cancelled for the near future. It's like those ghosts didn't want us taking part in them."
"Speaking of the future," says Donald, "Chip and Dale called us over Cid's computer. They told us something's up back home."
"It's Maleficent," you reply without hesitation. "She wants to take over Disney Castle."
"Huh?" asks Goofy. "The Cornerstone of Light keeps out any darkness, so how could she have gotten in?"
"Because Pete feeling overworked led to time travel," you deadpan. "It makes just as much sense in context."

"You two are coming along, right?" you ask Donald and Goofy.
"'course we are!" insists Donald. "That's our home, and I'm not letting Maleficent run around there!"
"Yup, all for one and one for all!" agrees Goofy.
"Then we can't waste time getting there. Leon, mind if we swing by Merlin's real quick?"
Leon frowns. "You're thinking of asking Merlin for a shortcut?"
"Exactly," you reply, a grin creeping onto your face. "If anyone can poof us straight to Disney Castle, it's him."
"All right," responds Leon. "Just be careful. You never know what kind of magic might backfire."
You chuckle, turning on your heel. "Trust me, I've seen my fair share of magical mishaps. Let's go."
Donald and Goofy nod, following you as you head back through the marketplace towards Merlin's house. You knock on the door, and before you can pull your hand back, it creaks open, revealing the musty, book-filled room inside, with Cid hard at work at the computer and Aerith seeming to have arrived a bit ago.
Merlin looks up from an oversized tome, his eyes twinkling behind his spectacles. "Ah, what brings you here in such a hurry?"
"Merlin, we need a favor— a big one. We have to get to Disney Castle right away. Maleficent's plotting something, and we're worried the Cornerstone of Light's in danger," you explain.
Donald nods enthusiastically. "Yeah! Can you warp us over there?"
Merlin raises an eyebrow, considering the request. "Warp you to Disney Castle? Hmm… it's not impossible, but teleportation magic over such a great distance is quite complex. And risky."
Goofy adds, "We know it's a long shot, but we really need ta get there fast. Can ya do it, Merlin?"
Merlin strokes his beard thoughtfully for a moment, then nods. "I warn you, this kind of magic can be unpredictable. You might not land exactly where you expect to."
"How is it unpredictable?" you point out. "Doesn't Fairy Godmother literally warp all the way from here to her world?"
Merlin laughs. "Oh, even we've had our fair share of mishaps," he admits. "Why, once, when I was visiting my world after teleporting from Traverse Town, I appeared in an occupied—"
"TMI! TMI!" you shout.
"Well, gotta admit, it works when you gotta be subtle," Cid snarks from the side. "World order and all."
"Can we not talk about this?" asks a weirded out Donald.
"Very well. No need to ruminate on smells," says Merlin, pulling out his wand. "Stand close, all of you. And brace yourselves. This could be a bit… turbulent, and I'll need to teleport seperately."
"Oh, right!" you speak up. "We may need you to thwart Maleficent. Do you have a Gummiphone number we can use?"
Merlin adjusts his glasses. "Excuse me? Why would I use that new-fangled 'technology' you kids are always talking about?" he asks.
"I forgot who I was talking to," you mutter, thinking about just what kind of world Merlin was from. "Cid? Aerith? I have Yuffie's number because caller ID, but how about you two?"
"On it," replies Cid, typing something into his computer before taking a drag from his cigarette. "You're lucky I'm usin' one of those things. But don't be callin' me for chit-chat, kay?"
Your Gummiphone vibrates, confirming you got it.
"Here's mine too. You never know when it might come in handy," says Aerith. "Oh, and Haru, when you get back from Disney Castle, I'd like to talk with you in the junkyard west of Central Square. There's an old church there that you can't miss."
You blink, curious. "A church? In Hollow Bastion?"
She nods, a sentimental smile on her face. "It's… special to me," she responds.
You can't help but wonder if this is another minor butterfly, but tuck it away for now before putting her number in your Gummiphone. "Alright, thanks, Aerith. I'll see you when you get back."
Donald and Goofy exchange glances, readying themselves. Merlin, wand in hand, clears his throat, looking a bit more serious now. "Very well, brace yourselves, everyone."
You grip Donald and Goofy's hands, bracing for the sensation. "Here goes nothing…"
Merlin waves his wand with a flourish, and in an instant, the world twists around you. Light bends and warps, pulling you through space faster than you can blink. You feel a strange lurch in your stomach just before—
THUD!
You crash into something soft but prickly. A split second later, you realize you're half-embedded in a giant topiary of a cow playing a flute, leaves tickling your face and getting caught in your hair. You try to spit out a mouthful of leaves as you untangle yourself.
"Gah, leaves!" you sputter, spitting a few out. "Of all the places to land!"
Goofy emerges from the greenery a few feet away, his hat askew. "Guess that's what Merlin meant by 'unpredictable.'"
Donald shakes loose some twigs. "We're here, aren't we? Close enough!"
You pull yourself free, landing on the soft grass of the courtyard with a light thud. The scent of fresh greenery fills your nose as you get your bearings. Tall, well-manicured hedges surround you, each one trimmed into the shape of an anthropomorphic animal playing various instruments. It's a whimsical sight, but there's no time to admire it.
"Alright, team," you say, brushing off the last of the leaves. "Let's go save a Cornerstone."

Brushing leaves off of yourself, you summon your Keyblade before surveying the courtyard. As per the norm, there aren't any sign of Heartless yet, but you just know they're waiting to spawn.
You get close to one of the bushes near the ruined topiary that you, Donald, and Goofy teleported into, and almost on cue, a Soldier spawns besides two Minute Bombs, while a Shadow rises from the greenery.
"Looks like we've got company!" Donald exclaims, his stafd already crackling with electric energy.
Goofy nods, raising his Chain Gear shield. "Yup, but we gotta be careful, fellas. Those two look like bombs."
You destroy the Shadow and the Soldier with Blizzard, mentally admitting how annoying it was that you can't burn the Minute Bombs. Besides, Queen Minnie would probably throw you into some shadow realm like she did with Pete if you wreck her garden.
Following that up with a Strike Raid, you see the Minute Bomb's legs retract before a countdown appears over its head. You Dodge Roll away from the Heartless before it detonates, and Donald casts Aero beneath the other bomb that's counting down, followed by Goofy bashing it into the air with his shield so it explodes above the courtyard.
You continue your sweep, seeing a pair of Shadows and a Minute Bomb around—and on—a topiary of a cow playing a flute. Donald raises his staff and casts Thunder, striking down all three of the Heartless at once.
"Nice one!" you comment.
Four Minute Bombs and a Soldier spawn in front of a trumpet-playing topiary, and Goofy rushes forward for a tornado attack that catches all the bombs. You and Donald both cast Thunder multiple times to make sure they don't detonate around Goofy, who destroys the Soldier with a shield bash.
You cast Water on the four Shadows that appear on the model of the castle that leads to the Gummi Hanger, then get up to their height with an Aerial Sweep, destroying them with a Land Crash.
Another group of Minute Bombs spawn in front of a topiary shaped like King Mickey, and like before, Goofy catches them in a spin attack while Donald destroys them with Thunder. However, one of the explosive Heartless starts counting down, so you cast Water on it, knocking it into the Mickey topiary before it detonates.
You're getting closer and closer to going full circle, so you do a Sliding Dash into some Shadows before casting Thunder, while Goofy bashes the others with his shield.
Closing in on the door, you see that there's only one group of Minute Bombs left, which you take care of with a melee combo. When they all start counting down at once, Donald casts Aero, sending them all into the air so they explode overhead.
You exhale, lowering your Keyblade. "Courtyard's clear," you say. "Good work, gang."
"Piece of cake!" exclaims Donald.
Goofy chuckles, picking up his shield. "Yeah, but I think we gave those topiaries a bit of a trim."
You looks around at the half-destroyed hedges and nervously grin. "Oops. Hope the queen appreciates the landscaping."
Heading inside, you're greeted by a large group of Shadows in the collonade leading down to the library. Noting that there's a seal over the door to the throne room—and thus, the Cornerstone—you wipe out the remaining Heartless before making your way into the library.
Brooms are cleaning up the place, and you see Pluto's bed before noticing a Torn Page from Merlin's book, which you pick up. As for Minnie, she's facing the bookcase.
Donald salutes her. "Your Majesty! Queen Minnie, we're back!" he says.
"Were you the one who messaged Cid, Your Highness?" asks Goofy.
"Yes," replies Minnie.

//So I finished writing the Grid arc of Sora's sidestory, but I dunno when I should post the eight vignettes. They'd be Sidestory threadmarks, obviously. Can't decide the best time to post them and when in the quest.

You push Donald and Goofy aside gently, stepping forward with a polite bow. "Pleased to meet you, Your Majesty!" you say with a warm smile. "I'm Haru. I don't know if Donald and Goofy mentioned it, but I have a bit of a gift—I can kinda see the future."
Donald quickly steps forward, nudging you aside and giving a quick, embarrassed salute. "Sorry about him, Your Majesty," he says hastily. "He's, uh, still learning some manners."
Queen Minnie giggles softly, her expression kind. "Oh, it's quite all right, Donald. The King has mentioned Haru, Sora, and Riku in his letters. He spoke very highly of all three of you—so brave and resourceful."
You straighten up, feeling a bit more confident. "Have you seen King Mickey recently?" you ask, recalling seeing him through the Beast's magic mirror. "I'm not sure if he still has that Star Shard with him."
Minnie shakes her head, her expression turning serious. "I'm afraid I haven't seen him for some time. He's been quite busy with his duties across the worlds."
"Your Majesty, why are there Heartless in the castle?" asks Donald. "Is the Cornerstone really broken?"
"Yes, when I went down to the Hall of the Cornerstone recently, I saw the entire room overgrown with thorns, and the light of the Cornerstone had dimmed," answers Minnie, her hands clasped together anxiously.
"Those thorns? It's pretty much guaranteed to be Maleficent," you say. "She's trying to take over Disney Castle. We need to get to the Hall of the Cornerstone, but we'll need your help, Your Majesty. Could you lower the barrier to the throne room so we can stop her?"
Minnie hesitates for a moment. "Are you sure you're ready for this? The Heartless are relentless, and Maleficent's magic is powerful…" Her eyes widen. "Oh, dear! I forgot to warn everyone else in the castle about the danger! They need to hide somewhere safe!"
"We'll catch up with ya," says Goofy, saluting Minnie again. "Donald and I will go help the others." The two of them leave the library, and you turn back to Minnie.
"So the Hall of the Cornerstone is under the throne, right?" you ask Minnie.
She nods. "Yes, let's begin," she says, entering the hallway besides you. Further down on the left wall are the throne room doors, and all that stands between you both is a hallway full of Heartless.
You grip the Shooting Star Keyblade tightly, feeling its weight in your hands. "Stay close, Your Majesty," you instruct, readying yourself for the battle ahead.
Minnie nods, a faint glow forming around her. "I'm ready, Haru. Let's clear a path!"
You dash forward, casting Blizzard to freeze the nearest Shadow in place before swiftly following up with a Strike Raid. The Keyblade spins through the air, striking down several Heartless before returning to your hand.
Meanwhile, Minnie gracefully steps forward, her magic already beginning to glow brighter. "Light!" she calls out, casting Faith. A burst of light emanates from her and envelops a group of Soldiers in a blinding flash. The Heartless recoil, disintegrating.
You see more Heartless advancing down the hallway and quickly decide to mix things up. "Thunder!" you shout, casting a bolt of lightning that crackles down the corridor, striking several Heartless and causing them to convulse before vanishing into darkness.
As you continue forward, a trio of Minute Bombs spawn, their timers already ticking down. "Careful! Those ones explode!" you warn Minnie.
She nods and casts Faith again, her magic light hitting two of the Minute Bombs. The third one continues its countdown, moving closer. You bat the Minute Bomb out the window, where it explodes without harming anything.
You approach the throne room doors, and final wave of Heartless appears, this time a mix of Shadows and a few larger Bolt Towers blocking the path. The hallway feels tighter now, filled with Heartless intent on stopping you.
One more cast of Faith from Minnie vaporizes the ambush, and she raises her arm towards the door. "As soon as the trouble started, I made sure to seal this room," she says before the barrier vanishes.
On the door opens a smaller door, one that Minnie can easily walk through. "Now then, shall we?"
