First I had a mental image of one of Hate's mind controlled bats being glued to Akagi's arm and her waving said arm around wildly to try to dislodge it.
Then I remembered that Bat-Lead was the downed pilot Akagi caught. The bat changed to him, but nothing else.
For the moment, yes, although one of the (modern) destroyers was taking its sweet time to chug over to her and pick up Bat Lead.
