Roll: 53
"No... I can't die here..." I say. The walls were melting and folding into one another the arcade machines were just becoming so many floating lights, the attract sounds blending together into so much background noise.
I shake my head and focus entirely on Rainbow. About how all the different ways she could hypothetically kill me. About how I could defend myself from whatever she tried. I focused on anything that could keep my mind busy. To fight through the fog that was clouding my mind.
Slowly, the room stopped spinning, settling on a 30 degree angle. I clutch Napalm Death and step forward, ready to keep fighting.
"So, this is the determination of a Stand User..." Rainbow says as she pushes herself to her feet.
Then, from seemingly out of nowhere, she pulls out another knife and tosses it. I'm barely able to avoid getting hit and the knife grazes my shoulder.
"GHA! Son of a..." I mutter, but Rainbow is already jumping towards me she lets out another kick. Even in my addled state, I manage to dodge the kick, causing her to hit the screen of one of the Commando games. Seeing an opening, I rush in, trying to write "Bomb" on her. Before I can, she twists, and elbows me in the side of the head, nearly knocking me down.
By the time I shake the cobwebs out, Rainbow drops into another fighting stance, not ready to give up.
"But unfortunately for you, there's a reason why Dio hired me to kill you..."
She pulls her right arm back, but jabs me with her left. Not relenting, she keeps attacking me with the efficiency of a trained fighter, even in her wounded state.
"Because no matter what, I. WILL. NOT. GIVE. UP." She says. "No matter what it takes, I intend to end your life here." With that, she goes for another punch.I try to grab her arm again, but she twists out of my grip then elbows me in the face, sending me crashing down again.
As I get to my feet, I look at Rainbow. My Stand may be powerful, but right now, there was no way for me to get close enough, long enough to write anything on Rainbow. Even as injured as she is, she isn't going down without a fight.
Then, I look at her, then the cracked screen of the machine she damaged and I get an idea.
It may be a stupid idea, but it's the best I have. I just have to lure her back over there...
With her next strike, I duck down to avoid it. But instead of going on the offensive, I stay low, running past her. She turns around to give chase, but I nearly collapse in front of the damaged machine, having to use it to support my weight.
I look at rainbow with blurry vision. She turns and prepares a strong kick. One meant to finally knock me out. With all the effort that I can muster, I push away from the machine. I collapse onto the floor. Rainbow foot goes right through the damaged screen. Her body involuntarily stiffens, as a large amount of electricity flows out of the wires severed by glass, and into her body.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH" Rainbow screams as she convulses from the electric shock from the old arcade machine. While she does, I sigh in relief. Even if she didn't break her foot from putting it through the glass screen, the electric shock had to have hurt.
If it didn't, then Rainbow was a Terminator and I might as well just start crying, because there wasn't any way I could win against one of those.
After a few seconds, she falls backwards, still twitching from being electrocuted.
I look at the scene around me. Rainbow is down on the ground, twitching too injured to fight. Several arcade machines were smashed, and water was starting to leak out of the bathroom.
"What are you waiting for...?" Rainbow says as she watches me from the ground, still defiant. "I'm not afraid to die. Just get it over with..."
I shake my head. "A long time ago, I swore that if I had to fight, that I would never lose to anyone." I say. "But I'm no killer"
Rainbow chokes back a laugh. "How long can you really hold on to that. There is much more powerful enemies in your future. You...have...no...idea..." With that, Rainbow finally passes out. I briefly look Rainbow over. She doesn't look like she has a Flesh Bud like Kakyoin did. Or at least, Idon't see it.
...I could try to take Rainbow back to Jotaro's place. If she knows anything about Dio or any of his other assassins, then she could be interrogated. At the very least she would know what we would be up against. Even if I can't carry her all the way there myself, I could call Jotaro and have him bring a car or something.
If only I actually had his phone number...
My thought process is brought to a halt when I hear police sirens in the distance. And considering all of the explosions, chances were, they were on their way here. I couldn't take Rainbow with me, especially as hurt as I am. And there wasn't any way that I was sticking around to deal with the police.
It was time to go.
Before I leave out the bathroom window, I look at the manager, he's still standing there. Eyes closed, bobbing his head to the sound of music playing on his walkman that his oversized headphones are plugged into. I shake my head before leaving, making sure to take the remaining medical supplies from the first aid kit.
I stumble out of the arcade. Whether it's from my injuries, blood loss, the powder, or all three, I'm feeling lightheaded. I start running through alleyways, doing by best to avoid the streets. With any luck, the police would deal with Rainbow. She might not go to jail for trying to kill me, but at least she'll be held long enough for me to tell Jotaro and everyone else about her. As I keep moving, I plan my next move.
[] Go straight to Jojo's I should tell them about the assassin.
[] Go home I just need some rest. And a change of clothes.
[] Go to the Hospital and get some real medical treatment.
[] Write in
