[X] The Salt Lord
This seems like the best generalist crew, especially with the opportunity to cultivate a horde of giant bats on our island.
However…
[X] Princess Aelsabrim Fallenstar
I would like for us to grab her as our next ally, as she both seems like a lovely new adopted niece and Merwyrms are specifically listed as extremely potent force amplifiers in the Vampire Coast campaign from total war. To the point that the strongest of the Merwyrms becoming your minion is as big of a success for the Vampire Coast as the Great Horned Rat walking the earth would be for the Skaven.

They can kidnap people for exhibits and kidnap people to ransom for exhibits. They do everything!

[x] Princess Aelsabrim Fallenstar

I think the Druchii would have turned out better if they just had a kindly old uncle to help them.

I don't know if I trust that Princess to not pull a Walpole, up to and including the bit where she arranges to come clean while handing her less scrupulous contacts (Namely, US!) into the hands of Ulthanan's Navy.

But mostly I just find the Salt Lord sounding really cool conceptually. Sailor Bats!

The previous iteration of Harkon did list the Lamprey as being more distant of late.

Her ambition is to enter Ulthuan to give the performance of a... Deathtime?

The Princess has contacts that would allow us to pass on information about patrols, enabling Cylostra to reach the shore.

The Harbourmaster also has those same contacts—it might actually be easier to get them from him—but either way, if we play our cards right we could use the Asur's influence to earn the Lamprey's loyalty.

I am a little worried that we might get what we're asking for on Fallenstar and then end up feeling kind of bad about it, but I guess that ship has sailed.

To be fair, Pahtsekhen does not actually teach anyone necromancy. He teaches about Death Magic, and a lot of unscrupulous students use that to go on and become necromancers. But who knows, maybe Fallenstar will be different!

So considering that elves seem to in general don't really seem to go for necromancy, this could actually be right and we just make a really good death mage elf.

EDIT: Though we could also teach her more than anyone else alive knows about vampirism.

The two elves really speak to me, because they represent a REALLY good avenue for smuggling, and exploring SECRET aspects of elven society.

The Fish Haters because MOBEY DIIIICK

The Lamprey because Siren Ghost maiden

If I remember correctly, you need to have a deep-seated fear of death to use necromancy, and most elves are ambivalent to the concept of death. They tend to die when they are ready to die, assuming nothing kills them first. It's not something they are really afraid of—not like a human, anyway. And necromancy is a human discipline at its unbeating heart.

As such, I don't see an elven princess being particularly interested in that.

Amethyst magic, however, might be something she's receptive too. As a Tiranocian she'd be very familiar with the concept of endings and reminiscing on things long lost, and her husband recently passed away as well, giving her an insight into the transient nature of mortality—all of which are philosophical pillars of the wind of death.

And we just happen to be very good at teaching that.

So, like, in terms of generalist acquisition abilities the Tide is obviously the best. But the Princess is student shaped, so obviously the Imprudent Tutor is going to do a tutoring.
