Island Hopping - A GSRPG of Violent Land Grabs (OPEN)

I like how all the factions involved seem to only briefly question why the inter-universal rifts are there anyway, before shrugging and getting on with the looting and colonizing.
Look, if we spent ages taking scientists here, then the French might have gotten through first, and nobody wants that.

Well except the French, but that's all the more reason to ruin their fun.

Some form of magic is present in most of the settings , life is so shitty in the wastelands that they probably don't care about how did it happen , and I suppose the Brits just can't resist colonising things and decided to everyone's despair to go at it again

I mean if a portal to a new world filled with unknown resources opened up now, some would probably question it, but most other people would try to get in and claim what they can.

Besides the Rabbit Clan likes money and this place probably has a bunch of stuff to claim, so yeah it's Rabbit conquistador time, they want their Gold

I see this and am surprised no one has made an expy of Hellsing's "Millenium" with the Major, giving his "I like War" speech.

Maybe an alt for them being in South America.

I'm going to need ONE more Faction for The First Wave of Colonies before I can start the game!

Truth be told I'm inspired by @Mental Omega and @EliudFS1 's GRSPRGs for massive battle royal crossovers.... and the obscene clusterfuck of a battle in my LOTR/WFB Quest involving almost every single race in Warhammer Fantasy.

You may want to reduce the amount spaces in your entry.

Lastly:
Is V actually V?

Your all good.
Alright I try to reduce the spaces, also, who know? Perhaps he is or perhaps it's just a nickname?

@Spktr Alpha I threw in a few heroes. I wasn't too creative because I'm really tired and being creative is hard, so I might switch a few things around wrt the characters at the last minute. The military stats are set in stone, however.

@Spktr Alpha
Actually, I've changed my mind and tinkered around the edges of my military stuff. A few more snipers, a few less rangers, 1 less artillery. That's it, though.

Alright. Then it's locked. I've pre-written part of the first IC post and I will get things going shortly.

I am still open to applications but like @triumph8w the next group will be part of a 'second wave'.
Does Kantai Collection qualify for this type of setting?
Yes but remember the escalation rule: The more powerful your faction is the greater the response by the stronger powers of the island.

Modified my application just a bit to give basic descriptions of the regiments and teams , as well as some generic transports if it can be useful to you @Spktr Alpha

So do out missions arrive in the clearing at different times? Or will anyone stumble across each other there?

Different islands ... it's just that your choice on the 'starter' island will define the future of your endeavour. You all regardless start at the same time.
So this decision will determine whether our campaign towards the natives is one of domination or cooperation?

I'd have thought it would be more of a case-by-case thing, determined as we apporached each local civilization.

To clarify it is a case-by-case scenario however you have all stumbled onto members of the same group. They are the 'starter' faction who both have their own allies and enemies among the islands. You may choose to fight, befriend, or ignore them.

Roman Empire by Big_Nibba
Faction Name: Roman Empire

Source: IRL

Technology/Magic: Start of Roman Empire tech, no magic

Summary/Description: Lead by the Gaius Octavian now newly named Augustus. Rome is in middle of a time known as Pax Romana, when a portal appears and so the Emperor in all but name leads an expedition into the portal to explore this obvious gift from the gods!

Military:

-Common Units
4x Equites - Inexperienced young men recruited from nearby conquered tribes to act as light cavalry and scouts. Armed with whatever weapons and shields they could bring with them(ex: spears, swords, and more) but still equipped with the standard scale mail armor of the Roman's. The horses are given by the state and lightly armored.
10x Velites - Inexperienced young men recruited from Rome and nearby subjugated barbarian tribes to act as light skirmishers and light infantry when needed. Armed with large darts or javelins with a gladius for melee their armor is just tunics and they have a shield for protection.
10x Hastati- The bread and butter of the Roman empire, young men are recruited and trained extensively to become legionnaires. These legionnaires are the heavy infantry of the Roman Empire inexperienced as they are. Armed with the gladius and pila and the distinctive square shield(scutum) and light scale mail of the Roman's.
-Elite Units
8x Principes- Older more experienced Legionnaires equipped with the standard gladius, pila, and shield these men are better armored than the hastati wearing heavier scale mail.
5x Triaii- Oldest most experienced legionnaires available being the best equipped infantry in empire besides the praetorians. Armed with spears, gladius, pila, and the scutum(shield) while wearing the heaviest scale mail available. These men are known to always be the last to die if an army loses.
2x Fully Armored Cataphracts- Famed for being the heaviest cavalry the empire has to offer and devastatingly so, equipped head to toe in scale or lamellar armor (horses too) they are equipped with lances and a side arm after the devastating charge such as swords or maces.
-Super Units- None ( At least I don't think any qualify)
-Generic Transports
The Equites
Legionaries themselves
Triremes
Heroes:
Emperor Augustus Himself - armed with best equipment money can buy, those being spatha(cavalry sword), a lance and armor. He is an adept commander and of course looking to spread the glory of Rome.
The Praetorian Guard- equipped with best armor and weapons(gladius, spears, shields, pila all the standard legionnaire equipment)possible these praetorians are the elite of the elite in the roman empire. Well known to be the bodyguards of the emperor, some of them have followed him in his attempt to explore the gift from the gods.
Notes- Man doing the edits on my phone did not help it sound coherent in some parts.

I wish I could think of a good faction that uses robots or cyborgs, but all my brain is giving me is the Institute and I don't want to clutter this with Fallout factions.

D&D Warforged, Rise Of Legends Vinci Clockwork, Endless Legend Broken Lords, Gears of War DeeBees, Terminator Skynet sans time travel, or you can just create your own robot race as I allow OC factions and we can work out the details together.
