Is Randgriz Burning? (Valkyria Chronicles)

I'm not entirely 100% totally comfortable handling one tank yet, let along two... If I were more experienced and sure what I was doing I'd say yes in a heartbeat.
I don't mind staying out of combat scenes for whatever reason. Like, maybe Kris is assigned to patrols repeatedly instead of following Squad 4, or the tank is super busted and needs fixing (until whatever time you're ready.) It'd be fun to get in on the character interaction s'all.

Are there any APCs in EW2? If there are any, Sushi could go APC instead of tank. Carrying troops in a steel coffin. Transporting them in and out of the battlefield. Support them (wait, tank can do that too, right?). Minimum number of crew would be three: Driver, Gunner and Commander. So, it will be much easy to handle than a crew of five or more.

Then it's 4th Mechanized Infantry Squad from thereon.

It would still cause the same difficulty for Mina having to work with two armored vehicles, so I'm fine with not entering combat until I'm needed. I'd just like to participate in interaction with other people if that's alright.

Though it's implied that they used some lightly-armored tracked APCs to carry supplies and transport troops. The Nameless in VC3 travel with at least a half-dozen for logistics purpose (including a tank transporter flatbed.)

I'll think about this.

@Harbinger
Sorry, I've got most of the update where Isara squees all over the busted up tank, but i'm going to have to leave it for later. Trying to not come down with a cold so I'm making an early night of it.

Make sure to drape yourself well! some warm drink might help too! have some tissues on hand if you become congested!

No worries, one's health takes precedence over RPs.

Though now I can't help but picture the scene.

Five minutes later...
Gertrude: My God...I've made a terrible mistake...

Hmm, so once working all well and good the squad's tank is essentially a slower, better armored Type 34 more in line with Theimer's vision of a next generation tank.

Actually Trudy would probably like this. but first to get it working. So, I'm thinking she'll have to give her crew a crash course in Cannibalizing 101 with required readings 'Military Acquisition for Dummies' and 'It's Only Stealing if you Get Caught'

And those stats I provided are the current busted up version. As you progress down the road to full on "Fixin' it up montage" they'll get better and you'll shift the aspects and add a stunt (or two).

I'll come up with a more formalized Challenge for this later, I'm riding high on decongestant chicken noodle and tea right now.

(Goes without saying if you come up with the list of elements you want to take place, i can just throw DCs at you)

Hmm, well off the top of my head:
-Get tools: You'd think this is a no brainer, but with the way army and militia relations are who knows. But in order to start work, one needs the proper tools.

-Lose the Autoloader: Call her old fashioned, but Trudy likes having a loader. And as she already has one assigned fixing a broken autoloader seems like it'd be a problem. So get rid of it: it'll open up space, and result in having some extra weight that can be put on.

-Fix that radiator: Get it hammered out, and working. An overheating engine is not an engine you want to be around.

-Get the radio in working order: If the squad needs armor support they'll need working radio equipment

-Switch out the engine: Trudy has used old ragnoline combustion motors, mainly in the old tanks she commanded and does not wish to have to wear a gas mask in combat operations.

-Get the armor up to spec: because a tank needs to take a hit, and Type 34s are otherwise glass cannons.

-Look at fitting a new gun: Gallians like their high explosives and HEAT rounds in their tanks. Trudy knows that the spaced armor on modern Imperial tanks will make that less effective. A larger gun firing some nice solid AP will be much nicer.

Awesome. There are some things you can take care of in the short term, while some of that stuff will be days, if not weeks of work (prep, acquisition, installation, testing).

Tools would be a good way to start, for these you have some options:

Route 1: Investigate +2, Command +3
Route 2: Rapport +1, Contacts +2, Burglary +3

Obviously Route 1 can be handled in house (Investigate to find your best shot at securing proper tools, Command to make it happen), route 2 will require you to make the acquaintance of some squadies (Rapport to open up some social circles, Contacts to seal the deal, Burglary to uh...yeah). You can create advantages as a part of challenges, and pass boosts from the overcome actions along to other tests.

This will set you on the path to the first great conflict of the campaign, Militia forces vs Army Bureaucracy! :V

Umm, if you did want to let me in Mina, I had an idea that the crew literally comes in on a tank crippled by explosives, scraping along and sparking as it's dragged into the hangar by a wrecker. So maybe the chars could help out with repairs to Trudy's vehicle.

Is having two tank crews without so much as even a single workable tank a good idea?

Well, it's more like the two tank commanders isn't it? I don't expect the NPC tankers would interact much with the rest of the cast.
I was referring more to the issue of having two tank commander/crews, but not a single one working rather than the interaction part, which I don't think would be an issue.
