Iron Dragon vs. The World! (Pacific Rim/Godzilla Parody Quest)

I am just rambling.

Here are our avaiable typs of armor listed by cost.

J-1 Karapace Heavy Shell.
700 Resources per Location
Armour Value: 6
Durability: 10
Resilience: +2 Edged, -1 Burst, -1 Fire
Special:
Requires Strength 3+. You can have as many pieces as you have Strength.


Supercomposite Hull
Costs 300 Resources per Location
Armour Value: 5
Durability: 8


Ferro-Titanium Body Armor

150 Resources per Location
Armour Value: 5
Durability: 8


Round Iron Pauldrons

150 Resources per Location
Armour Value: 3
Resilience: +1 Blunt
Durability: 6


Raw Iron Body Armour

100 Resources per Location
Armour Value: 4
Durability: 8


I find the Supercomposite Hull quite useless. As conpad plating it is better but it cost twice of what Ferro-Titanium (which we have since the beginning) cost without bringing anything else. We may want to invest some time in developing better armor or producing enough F-T to equip all of our jeager (13 locations for Yukon and 5-13 for Hagane so 3900R at most).
And what are Iron Pauldrons used for? They look really underwhelming. Not if they are layered over existing armor.

And would it be posible to develop this?

-Heavy Stabilizer: +2 Ranged while stabilizer is deployed (see Ranged stat, second values). May deploy stabilizer as minor action and retract them as major action. Can not move while stabilizer is deployed.

Armour:

Raw Iron Body Plating
Armour Value: 4
Coverage: All (Treat as layered on User Coverage)
Durability: 8

Back Unit Hit-Locations: Braces (L & R), Central Pods (L & R), Jointing, Spinal Lock, Bodies (L & R), Nacelles (L & R) (1d10)
User Coverage: Spine, Shoulders (L & R)

A risky weapon. The -3 dmg caps the maximum dmg per dice at 7 while the average would be 3. Far to low to get through any armor. Only by hitting the same location serveral time it would get through. That is the reason why the maximum number of throwable dice is so high.


Because Kiryu is our ranged jeager it would need some more ranged weapons. Ideally those would be:
  • Dual Maser Cannons (Need work on its range. Goal is 20 units)
  • Right Shoulder Coilgun (Cost 3000R. Would need work to do edged damage)
  • Left Shoulder Coilgun (Cost 3000R again)
  • Absolute Zero Cannon (Need a secondary fire mode for higher ranges)
  • Transforming Left Claw (How about an heat ray?)
  • Transforming Right Claw (We can keep the Drill or exchange it for a second heat ray)
  • Back unit weapon system (Maybe the big arty from above?)
Those would be 7 weapon systems pointed at any one kaiju. Those would do Impact, Edged, Electric, Fire and Ice type of damage. It would only miss Blunt and Acid type. With Kiryus Ranged stat of 5 all of those weapons would hit.

Speaking of overkill.
 
I say keep the drill in that above set up. We've already put some work into it (making it transform faster) and we should have some kind of exceptional Melee weapon beyond punching/kicking/tail whipping things for in case Kiryu gets charged. Plus, Giga Drill Breaker way back on Viceroy.

Other then that, I'm actually liking the idea, though I'm trying to wrap my head around a Kiryu with a pair of coilguns in/slung over his shoulders...

Edit: Also, two questions. Anyone know where Fyrstorm is? And does anyone know how people put things in invisible text?

The drill increses dmg in exchange for lower HtH. I have little problem giving it away to Yukon. One arm with stingblade and the other with drill.

Mm... I still don't think we should shove Jaegers into specialized roles like that if we can avoid it. Kiryu's already good at all ranges so I'd like to not completely turn him into Beam Spam McMuppet and Brawler Yukon into "Hurr Durr Mech Fist to Kaiju Face"

The packs currently cover the Shoulders as well, and based on what we know of the Heavy Arms Variant, which is from the movies, they probably require a shoulder rest to provide extra stability and connection.

Invisatext is possible by surrounding the words you want to hide with a pair of braces and the words color=transparent and /color in them. So it would look like this "[color=transparent_] Words. [/color_]" without the underscores. This is an example.

The crustacean latches on, and twists Hagane Arashi off-balance. Grabbing the bio-jaeger's arms, Endo viciously twists its joints, sending shocks of pain through the jaeger!

Hissing, Endo snaps its mandibles gleefully, dripping black goo from its mouth.

Also, I've upped the usefulness of the Supercomposite armour. Now it's got Resilience: +2 Blunt, +1 Impact, -1 Edged.

And I'm making the Pauldrons better.

Targeting systems.

EDIT: Uh... I only do multiple rolls when other people aren't on to roll. These kinds of quests seem to like moving fast when they can. But if other people are on, I try to wait between rolls at the least. So could someone else roll so we can keep going?

I rolled four dice and only one of them was 'good'
...And? If we don't roll, EVERYONE DIES because the QM can't update! Sometimes shit rolls happen! We deal! I just don't want to be the only one rolling when others are logged on because it's part of the fun of the Quest!
